the river to river festival takes place in battery park in lower manhattan but the forecast was for rain. it was wrong, but they moved the show inside to a tiny little auditorium. a really special show for those fortunate to get in. felt like back to the future.
im a northern girl and my southern best guy friend showed me the brothers. til this day these guys are the only music we both like. this song always melts me to pieces bc i moved away from him and weve just realized our love for each other. keep doing what your doing guys..... dont mean to be clique when i say rock on.
I just became a fan of these guys, and Im going to the CD release show in Charlotte on 8/8/09. I havent found a tune yet I dislike, and this is truly one of the best songs Ive ever heard.
I have to agree they sound so much better without all the screaming/singing that goes on at their concerts. But having seen them live 7 times, I know it's impossible to NOT sing (and jump and laugh and love!)
I saw them in concert a few months ago, i got two of scotts banjo picks, i was front, they fell off i tried giving them back after the show but he told me to keep them. they're awesome live
AMAZING version of this song... thanks so much for posting. I heard them play it Cary, and I gotta say, they sound a LOT better without the crowd singing along. I imagine they feel more free to practice their own artistic magic on the slow harmonic songs when they aren't being drowned out by a bunch of folks in different keys, tempos, etc... Must be really distracting for the boys. That being said... I don't think it's possible to NOT sing along with Talk on Indolence when you know the words!
Apparently I thought the same thing 3 months ago... see my comment below. I just happened to run across this video today. It's going in my favorites. It makes my eyes well up thinking of my ex-wife.

you can download a really beautiful slow version of November Blue from itunes--it's from Pickathon, 2006, I think. really gorgeous--similar to this.
