I knew Matt as a strange guy who shadow boxed and panhandled on Broadway in Seattle. Then one day I went to a Sportfight event in Portland and I recognized him as the same guy. He's one of the coole st guys in all of MMA. I hope he starts winning consistently so we can all see him in the big show again. If theres one person that deserves it, its him. He's a genuinely humble, grateful, thoughtful person that the world could use a lot more of.
interviewer needs to take a leaf out of horwich's book, the page that talks about not living free from ego. what a fucking cool guy horwich is. much respect and thanks for such a cool guy. he's reminded me that i should continue my efforts at living that way, despite it, pretty often, being difficult to do so.
if only he had some goddam wrestling, matt horwich would be a monster, because one thing nobody could take away from this guy is his tireless efforts to win and his huge football sized heart in his chest.

He has 20 wins by way of submission, and 15 of his 19 losses are because of decision, which means he's only been TKO'd, KO's, or Submitted 4 times.
