  • Thnx but only first graders need to know this stuff dude

  • cool. im 18, i know the multiplication very well (at least i think i do) and i just learned it now. lol

  • I don't understand why everyone thinks this is so difficult ._. I've been searching for an easy way to multiply and this is the only thing I've found that actually helps.

  • :D stupid

  • damn this awesome thx a lot dude

  • @Nikostinko Tips here may help with multiplication. Check it out! "Speed maths- Multiplying without multiplying". Click on my username and check the vid. Cheers.

  • @Nikostinko how is it a pain, 30 + 12 is 42 which is the right answer

  • thats awsome

  • Or how to learn tortuous tricks rather than knowing your multiplication table...

  • that's cool cause it's way longer to learn this than to learn multiplication tables itself...

  • this video is much simple than the same tips on the other video. nice share :)

  • or just know your multiplication tables...

  • I find this is much more comfortable if you number your fingers the other way. i.e. pinkies are always six and thumbs are always ten. It works the same either way.

  • That is awesome

  • I AM CONFUSE. . .

  • excellenct bebe!!

  • dear everbody... there is a new channel called credim studio... this channel is new so it dose not have much videos up but there is a series called window school which we made and it is focused on lessons... the series about algebra will be out on munday... can u all please check the channel out and subscribe please

and dose anybody have any hints on how to get subscribers

  • @credimstudio think of stuff most people enjoy or be really interesting

  • Ouais mais on peux pas faire de grands nombres comme 68x59

  • 7*9 here's an easy way. 70-7=63.

    Or 8*9=80-8=72.

    6*9=60-6=54.

    Works only with 9s who.

  • Amazing

  • i dont care that i look ridiculous as a 27 year old doing this! THIS WORKS!!!

  • WHAT?? I clicked dislike instead of like I guess I was getting excited. I'll favorite this instead :/

    Sorry Fepe55

  • That is quite cool, what's cooler though is an iPhone app to make learning Times Tables Fun!

It's called MATH CRASH. Search for it on iTunes if you like.

It's great and works on iPad or iPod Touch

  • OMG - I would rather learn the time table by heart :)

  • @lipread like me XD

  • and i get it XD

  • this is difficult as h3ll and too much work, ill just usemy phone...or better yet,my brain!

  • 26 people don't have hands...

  • i can count in my head ..............uesing figures to count seems so dumb...

  • It's easier to learn maths!:D But thank you!!!

  • Thanks You!

  • me too having GREAT BIG TROUBLE with calculus and math!!! Its hard to memorize numbers!!! lol

  • that guy taught it better then u. his name is aj something but he taught it way muc better

  • or better yet......just memorize the frigging times table. Yes it may seem difficult at first, but it'll make your life easier

  • omg this helped me so much lol. i was taught it in school but forgot...i love youtube lol

  • wth do this with multies like 9x2 or 8x9..? :S1

  • @XxJohnnie7xX : 8x9 works......

    9x2 - no

    coz it only works for x6, x7, x8, x9

  • @iskasham Well anything below 5 shouldn't need any tricks, liked 4 x 4, 2 x 6. Those would actually take longer using your hands than if you just did them in your head since they're so easy.

  • @Subtalvik2 yeah i know...dats why i said 9 x 2 ... no need to use fingers to him coz tables 2 are easy....

  • this confused me the first few times

  • Thank you!!!! I can't fucking memorize multiplication!!!!! THHHANNNKS!!!!!!!

  • I did 10X6 and got 64. Obviously you don't count the standing fingers when doing 10. Mind you, you're screwed if you can't do the ten times table.

  • @SiskinOnUTube 10 X 6 is 60 !! As follows: All your Left Hand fingers are down for the number 10. Your Right hand thumb is down for the number 6. Now, the total number of fingers down are 6 so 60 is the first number. Next, on your Left Hand, there aren't any fingers standing so its zero and this zero is multiplied by the four fingers standing on your right hand. So, zero times four is zero. Therefore, 60 + 0 = 60.

  • @meezant

Crikey. This method is obviously above my wee brain. lol

  • @SiskinOnUTube LOL THATS WAT I THOUGHT AT FIRST LOL I USE THIS ALL THE TIME NOW . I HATE MATH WAHHHHH

  • This is soooo helpful!!! Please, using this method, tell me what 2.45 x 152,358 is equal to.

  • this is sick why don't they teach this at school? fcking headwork always

  • this is soooo much easier then learning all the times tables by heart... im starting my ged classes tonight and dont want to look stupid not knowing my math, this helped a bunch.. BUT NOW i have to worry about me looking like a fool counting on my hands when im called on by the teacher.. lol

  • 10x10 ? 80 + (1x1) ?

  • my dad thought me this cuz i sucked at math before now im pretty good

  • its hard to multipy by hands to me!

  • I got spanked with a wooden shoe til I get the whole multiplication table from 1 to 10.

  • if i only knew this in grade school........lol this is harder then actually learning the dam table.

  • this is fucking more complicated than just learning it the right way XD

  • @seicheberlin indeed

  • Please a little bit more completed :-(

  • #OMG What a scary hand....

    ';..;'

  • wow his trick is sooo hard 0:52 dont be an idiot do this so 9x7=??

look at your hands, 10 fingers now if you count to 7, it will end up on the 2nd finger of your right hand right? put it down, 6 on left hand and 3 on right, perfect answer

  • THAT IS SOOOOOOOOOOO KOOL

  • i like math j/k hahahahahahahahahahaha i suck at it but i have an a in the classs

  • Fuck this

    its all bullshit

  • @TheM4pler

Probably because you didn't get it.

  • If you want to become good at math go to my youtube channel: (Youlovemathematics). In my channel i will teach you everything about math step by step. I will start with teaching you (necessary basic math skills) and then I will teach you the more advanced math topics. Just click on Playlists when you are on my channel and you will be able to watch my math videos in order. I promise that i will teach everything in an easy way. Math is easy if you have a good teacher.

    youlovemathematics

  • I like the method, only It was too fast for my daughter to understand, and I am a horrible math teacher lol Could you slow i down, so a kid can understand?

  • lol you should have your multiplication table memorized up to 20x20 before you finish highschool...

  • thanks it really hapled me it is interesting

  • beautiful :)(:

  • i dont understand

  • eeeew ugly hands :)) LOL XD :)) \m/

  • cool!

  • Ok, this took me a few minutes of practice, i never could lear tables by rote...i wish i had youtube when i was young :-(

  • awesome this should be in every classroom

  • @candeogauisus

    2 thumbs down = 20

    4 fingers x 4 fingers = 16

    20 + 16 = 35 ... Gosh, you're so right!

  • @fcarb :D my bad sorry mate, and thanks

  • @candeogauisus

Sorry for pointing it out the way I did :) This method is actually counter-intuitive at first, but once it clicks, it clicks!

  • Comment removed

  • @fcarb

    It's 36, mate.

  • @pr0gram1r

Was having some fun with sarcasm. I know ... It's a problem ... I'm working on it :)

btw Lotsa good stuff on your channel!

  • can u just learn the stupid multiplication!!! (wat if people dont have an arm or hand???) just sayin

  • can you use your toes? xD

  • 哈哈哈哈

    that so funny

    this should know by heart

  • I din't get itt!!!!

  • How to download youtube vdos without Internet? can any one answer this question?lol

  • Sweet thanks for the help I never heard this before and I'm not so great at math. This helped

  • REJECT VIDEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • what about smaller calculations like 3*2?

    p.s.

    yes do I know 3*2=6

  • @MrRobinMurphy he say if you can multiply the number between 1 and 4.

  • tnx...men...this help...me lot..

  • Comment removed

  • wat the hell

  • LIFE SAVER!

  • basically its just a modulus 5 multiplication technique

  • @GodExistsProofHere and what is that?

  • Very Good method! Love it!!! thanks for sharing.

  • omg this is going to save my BUTT in the GED !!! THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH!

  • Memorizing is for pussies! use this :D

  • Sound like the survival instructions on a plane! :D

  • so babbyis

  • @nezz752000 lol.

  • Faster way to do 9's.

9 is one less than ten, so subtract one from the number being multiplied by nine and then figure out what you need to add to that to get nine again. There's your answer.

    For example, 9 x 8. 8 - 1 = 7. 7 + 2 = 9. Answer = 72.

    Works every time. 9 x 6. 6 - 1 = 5. 5 + 4 = 9. Answer is 54.

  • can you do it with your toes? XD lol, thanx this help tons:) I'm a nightmare with maths :)

  • @dawnjones82

    Why not?

You have 5 toes dont you?

  • @dawnjones82 Hahahaahhaaa........why to use toes....m sorry if u r deprived of the hands

  • I love this too for my daugter is great

  • That's wonderful!!!

  • 2x2=4 2x3=6 2x4=8 2x5=10 this is the best way to learn tables adding by 2..3x1=3 adding by 3 do all the tables this way

  • Time spent memorizing this technique, I believe, could be better used 'roting' a times table.

..Will be on the lookout for you finger wigglers

  • Comment removed

  • nope my bad

  • if you would try 6x6 the answer would be 28

    dmmit

  • nop its 36

    2 fingers down = 20

    4x4=16

    so 16+20=36

  • i love it thanks

  • it would be easier to learn without the fancy music and fancy voice

  • THANK YOU !

  • if you multiply by 1 your just adding 1 time so instead of times you say

5x1=5 adding five one time equals five

2x1=2 adding two one time equals two

3x1=3 adding three one time equals three.

you can say also adding three repeatedly one time wich is what your doing.

    ex

5x2=10 pronounced adding five repeatedly two times equals ten. if you have to be ultra clear.

  • a student is also only as good as thier teacher.

  • stop overcomplicating something simple. its not students bad math skills that make them bad at multiplication its unclear and mistaught math ideas. a teacher is only as good as a student.

another example of initialing is if albert einstien wrote his name it would be A.E. for his initials. its a form of shorthand for repeated longhand addition and designed as a memory aid to remove counting operations and rely on memory.

  • I know an easier way. LEARN YOUR TABLES!

  • i know an easier way..learn and teach what the code is for that way you dont have to learn through memorization. its simple addition not rocket science. stop telling students 5x1=5 the correct pronounciation is adding 5 one time equals five. 5x2=10 correct pronounciation is adding five two times equals ten. you simply add the number to the left the number of times of the number to the right of the times sign. LOL. most students do to bad teaching habbits dont understand multiplication=addition

  • the code is a form of shorthand or initialing just like writing your names, its a quick and easy way of writing something and saves time and space on paper.

    example.

2x10=20 (adding two ten times equals twenty)

    vs

    2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2+2=20

you can easily see the 2x10 is quicker to write and saves paper space. stop saying 5x1=5 as five TIMES one equals five, its correctly pronounced adding five one time equals five total wich is the adding/math operations.

    clear instruction is everything.

  • you can try stuying harder and then you have some finger left so you can shove them up this ass

  • هههههه ما فهمت شي:S

  • you're better off memorizing than doing

silleh things like this on your fingers..

what, you're gonna be in a calculus class at college n doing this on your fingers? people r gonna not only make fun of you, but the professor himself..

what if for big numbers, 200x45?

are you gonna whip out your ass hairs n count?

  • I would.

  • your better off at understand how and what the math code was for as a form of initialing and pronouncing the operations correctly so students arent confused xdem. 5x1=5 is not pronounced five times one equals five the correct and clear pronounciation is adding five one time equals five. 5x2=10 is initialing for 5+5=10 like writing your initials. its pronounced adding five two times wich is the math operation. thier is a big difference between understanding an operation and memorizing it.

  • 5x1=5 initials for 5 5x2=10 pronounced adding five two times equals ten total initials for 5+5=10 5x3=15 pronounced adding five three times equals fifteen initials for 5+5+5=15 5x4=20 pronounced correctly adding five four times equals twenty total initials for 5+5+5+5=20 5x5=25 pronounced correctly adding five five times equals twenty five total initials for 5+5+5+5+5=25 and so on. stop saying times in the middle it goes on the end unless your mult by 1 and students will do better scores.
  • thisd i s gay i dont get m fudu

  • theres an way eaiser way for that u have 10 fingers ur left had is 1-5 and ur right hand is 6-10 so say its 6*9 u look at ur 10 fingers and drop the 6th finger and look at that u have 5 on ur left and 4 on ur right that makes it 54 dumb ass and it works up to 9*9

  • what if you where to do 3*8 how would that work

  • actually sorry it does, my mistake, i forgot to times the outstanding fingers, instead i just added them which gave me the asnwer of 73, where the actual answer is 72 :P

  • This kind of thinking is well-intentioned, but using it as a "method for multiplication" is counterproductive. It should be a learning tool, and never used again after a day or two of practice. It is like using a calculator. Anyone can use one, yet it teaches you nothing whatsoever about numbers.

You can find the explanation and a course about it, and how to actually learn the multiplications so that you have it "in your bones" at learn2multiply . com

  • nobody needs this !( I THINK) LOL

  • Ya. 8x5 doesnt work.....

  • it works

    you ahve 3 fingers down = 30

and 5 left multiplied with 2 is 10

    30 + 10 = 40

  • i almost 4got this hehehe!

i know this...my grandmother taught me how to do this..

  • So, when you are in the supermarket trying to work out 6x7, you can either stand there looking like a right twat folding your fingers, or you could go "Because I learned all my tables I know that 6x7 = 42

  • wow is very like..magic sia ..now i know le i can do this for exam <<very fast lei thx for showing me ~!

  • i'm guessing the 1,2,3,4,5 multiplications are the same

  • 8 * 5 = 40 it doesn't work on fingers

  • yeah but 5 times tables are easy you dont need to use this method :)

  • Yes it does, Yo don't put any fingers down for 5. So one hand is open, one hand has 3 fingers down. 3 fingers down * 10 = 30

5 fingers up on one hand times 2 fingers up on other hand is 10

    30 + 10 = 40....

  • boring i hate it its hard

  • Here's a little trick i use to use when

I got in to 8th grade and learned the

    distributive property

    8*7=...

    8*(5+2)

    8*5 + 8*2

    40 + 16 56

  • memorizing the multiplication tables is so much easier than doing this.... very inventive though, who ever started doing this method..

  • oh god ,a small child can do this shit ,teach us multiplication of big numbers

  • top man. thank you very much for that.

  • thanx that helped me alot but can you show me how to do my 1,2,3 and 4 times tables on my hand please thanx

  • CONFUSION ATTACK!!!!

  • صصصصصصص

  • WOW!!! i tried pretty much everythign--its great--thanks for sharing

  • wat

  • Say you want a * b....

-the number of fingers you put down on your left hand is (a - 5) (because your fingers go from 6 to 10 instead of 1 to 5)

-In the same way, the number of fingers you put down on your right hand is (b - 5)

-adding them together and multiplying by 10 gives:

    (a + b - 10) * 10 = 10a + 10b -100 (#1)

    The number of fingers left on your left hand is 5 - (a - 5) = 10 - a (respectively (10 - b) for right hand)

    (10 - a)*(10 - b) = 100 - 10a - 10b + a*b (#2)

    (#1)+(#2) = a*b

  • how the fuck did people manage to get into an argument about religion under this video?? WTF? wierdos!

  • i dont get it?

  • This method is for fool, enjoy it

  • terrorist izlam is the most dangerous virus on earth, must clean.

  • omg shut the fuck up.

  • WHY mesenger of alah copy to JEW n CHRISTIAN?n rape or enjoy EX with alot of women n babies?

  • first of all, your first question didnt make sense and second, having sex was to create enough people. it just so happens that it has an upside to it.

  • HOW such a murderer,rapist,lustful pedophila,liar,arab man,destroyer can b a messenger of GOD how his terriable n abnormal words=copy cocacoran can b a words of GOD??

  • wtf does this vid gotta do with the crap u talkin bout? =.=

  • @burningstarry1 Do we really applaud people for the ability to swear!?! Childish behavior always gets rewarded here on Youtube.

  • not 6X6 grrrrrr

  • Try it again. Thumbs down on each hand gives you 20 plus the multiple of the remaining fingers (4x4=16). 20+16=36=6x6

  • Oh I get it now

The fingers that are down are always at their tens

And the fingers that remain sticking out are the ones you add, to add start from your left hand, then add the remaining number of fingers from your right.

  • This is truly scary...

I learnt the entire grid from 1x1 to 9x9 in my first school year and I was 6 by then.. you just keep in mind different numbers from 1 to 81! How hard could that be?! A simple thing you remember your whole life!

I thank God that I received my education in the Soviet Union (absolutely free of charge by the way) and not in the United States.

Gee, this country has a tremendous ability to turn its own population to a bunch of degenerate and illiterate retards!

    No offense though

  • i was thinking the same thing, in elementary school you learn the whole multipication table for single digit numbers and that's it!

  • 7 x 8 doesn't work, it omes out 55 instead of 56. try!

  • my mom taught me lol listen...

7x8 on ur fingers come out as 50 right?

    so then what is 3x2?

    6 right?

so its 56 not 55 cuz i think maybe you added

i got confused at first when i was small but now on like tests i always do that cuz its a faster and quicker way hope u understand 7x8 on ur fingers now!

    DO YOU?

  • Nah, don't forget to multiply instead of add the fingers that are left standing.

  • try multiplying the remaining fingers instead of adding them up dumbass.

  • i know this...my grandfather taught me how to do this..
