  • Who use a .454 casull for self defense?!

  • @HaNsWiDjAjA People who are out in the woods in possible danger of wild animals (which need required knockdown power where bullets made for automatic handguns do not meet the requirements of stopping a Cougar, Wolf, or Bear)

  • I hate this man....everything he does is horrible and anyone who follows his tests is dumb

  • even if from a 3" barrell, shoothing a human with a 454 casull is just an overkill.

you can be sure that if you don't stop you target-guy with a casull...well...you have just miss it : /

  • I watched this video to see him one hand shoot this .454. He double handed it. I am disappointed.

  • @frankgon4 I don't think most people can control that one handed. I've seen some do it but by far and large you do need two hands to handle that thing. I think thats one of the most powerful you can get except a .500 S&W Magnum.

  • Something in that caliber might as well be used for Grizzly Bear emergencies out in the wild.

  • @schizoidboy Thus the name "alaskan". That was the purpose.

  • havent seen him tackle the S&W .500 with the 4" barrel yet...would love to know where that rates on the power factor...

  • Wow dude (Mr. Ancient "Harry" Potterfield) Where is the Taurus Firearms (Proud Brazilian Made) in your Show ?

  • @pirocenter They aren't on the show because they are either knockoffs of other weapons, or just terrible weapons altogether.

  • @ninjast4r You are so trully that S&W was left behind almost 10 years ago - The market already had judged it !!!! not supid granphas!!!!!!!!

  • @pirocenter I am so 'trully'? I don't get it. And what does S&W have to do with anything? As for Larry Potterfield being a 'supid grandpha,' he's the CEO of successful company, you're just a twat with an internet connection. You do the math.

  • @ninjast4r Go to bed children baby!!!!!!!!

  • @pirocenter Go back to school sandy vagina man.

  • @ninjast4r Because it I preffer to buy on "CABELA'S" shop !!!!

  • @pirocenter Then go pester them.

  • @ninjast4r That great weird are you little boy, cose until even Ruger pay acknowledgments to Taurus and not only one time but in this year also in shot show it happens.

Go to Taurus.com and see if any "North american" company are doing that amount of inovations and developments that justify you firstly said about to copy anothers

  • @pirocenter I love how worked up you're getting. It's fun.

  • @ninjast4r Hey Mr. Potterfield, PLEASE do not go to swimming, because @ninjast4r will drown (so much to be ball sucker [smarmy] of you.

  • @pirocenter Hey, fuckwit. If you're going to attempt an insult at someone in their own native language, perhaps you should get a little more fluent in it. You sound retarded.

  • This guy has been shooting way to long to REALLY BELIEVE in the "knockdown power" bullshit. Its sad to see.

  • Anybody else think anything chambered to the .454 casull is kind of overkill when it comes to a standard personal defense weapon?

  • @brose04008 Hah, no such thing as overkill when a bad-tempered grizzly or moose is looking your way. I live in Alaska, and this is an awesome secondary weapon. For its power, its ridiculously small and light, which means a quick draw in a bad situation, and a .454 would make even an 1/4 ton animal think twice.

  • @AK06WRX--I concede to your point. When I referred to the gun as a "standard personal defense weapon", I neglected to remember that for some (such as yourself), standard personal defense requires that one be capable of taking down pissed-off grizzlies and the like rather than your run-of-the-mill tweaker with a broken beer bottle. Very well spoken.

  • @brose04008

Yes and no, where I live I can't justify one even though I've wanted one of these because my .357 does the job.. If I was going out into the back country I might find it handy, the .454 is a very good large predator repellant.

  • @brose04008 I would use Massive Hollow Point for defensive round and not a solid Round. Semi Wad Cutter for Bear Country protection.

  • @brose04008 It depends on the target. For wild animals intent on eating you, such a bears cougars, wolves, etc. Against another human being, that is why you load a .454 Casull revolver with .45 Colt

  • i own this in 44mag. love it to death

  • I talked to a guy with on of those. He all but quite shooting it with 454 and now just shoots 45 LC for target practice. He feels the 454 casull loads are great for backpacking and fly fishing. He also seemed to almost use the single action exclusively while firing the thing. I swear double action is useless in calibers higher then 45 colt +p. Can't get past that recoil for quick additional shots.

  • @smartguy104 I shoot my Super Redhaek .44 in single action due to the recoil. I like the option of double action, but don't really use it. I had Super Black Hunter (single action .44) but sold it as the trigger guard kept hitting my middle knuckle. The double Action grip is much better for me than the single action grip.

  • This guy just annoys me.

  • Wonder how it scores in .45? cause realistically that's probably what you would load it with for personal defense.

  • Whats a good holster for the ruger in leather or plastic(if available)

  • @twentyways Sourdough Pancake by Simply Rugged Holsters.

  • this is the gun you need to stop the king from the burger king commercials with his pop up ass. Bet he wont just be across the street one minute and in your face the next lol.

  • This doesn't have knockdown power, it's got pudding power - as in, if you hit someone with it, you turn them into pudding.

  • That gun is FNG AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Listening to Styx while watching this vid.....Fricken awesome.

Come sail away with Larry Potterfield!

  • @rekrap112 wich song?

  • @Kane16802 Come Sail Away

  • @rekrap112 Pretty sure I was drunk that night

  • @rekrap112 and it goes good with this song?

  • @rekrap112 i mean video

  • @Kane16802

    Here

type in come sail away by styx on youtube it won't let me paste the url on here

open both videos in separate browsers.

I was drunk and thought it was hilariously awesome.....Not so much now...kind of like how you want life to be power ballads until you realize after your throwing up your kidneys that it wouldn't be so cool.

And to keep this comment relative to this video...Guns..

  • @rekrap112 i did it, aint really that amazing

  • @Kane16802 Like I said I was drunk

  • 62% D thats a bit disappointing

  • This would come in handy to kill that Sasquatch from them jerky comercials

  • @Dragon7697 LOL classic

  • That's a hell of a handgun!

  • Personal defense. . . against what, a bear?

  • yeah seriously. this thing would suck for concealed carry, you just don't need something this big and cumbersome. that's my opinion at least.

  • @ComPrt3 lol

  • @ComPrt3 That's pretty much what it's for!

  • @fixitman21 I think I'll use this for hunting Humming Birds. You don't even have to shoot it. Just point it at the bird and it dies of fright. Saves on ammo.

  • @ComPrt3 yes

  • Finger on trigger at 1:16! I win a Barrett .50 cal semi Larry!

  • love to have two!!

  • I've got one and I love it.

  • dont understand why youd want a 454 that small.

  • @hedgehoghunter007 It's a "lightweight" large caliber bear defense weapon. Outside that I agree with you.

  • Get your damn finger off the trigger at the end!

  • @Asertix357

    Finger was beside the trigger.

  • that is to much hand gun for me, I'll stick with my .45 acp. What a round though! Another great vid! please keep them coming.

  • I'm glad they started calling these "personal defense" handguns, rather than "concealed carry" handguns. Makes more sense, particularly with behemoths like the Alaskan.

BTW you see Larry flinch at the end? I don't blame him. LOL

  • : )

  • that is bear killer

  • personal defense, as in personally defending yourself from a bear trying to attack you.

  • @mxf7010g8k rather a rampaging elephant.

  • In my honest opinion not the best choice for cc.......

  • Reminds me of Hellboy's Samaritan revolver.
