@macleary69 No, Davy Joes was human/immortal when he cut out his heart becasue his love Calypso betrayed him by not showing up at their meeting point after ten years. Enraged and heartbroken he cut out his heart and he abandoned his duties that Calipso gave him. His duty was to carry souls that died at sea to the other side. When he abandoned his duties he became a sea monster with tentacles. Will won't become a sea monster because he is doing his duties and Elizabeth won't betray him.

So yes, POTC5 is coming in summer of 2013, and POTC6 is expected after that. Johnny Depp has stated that he would be in it. I hope that in the next film we see more Orlando, Kiera action...but if they are shown the movie would have to be set 10 years in the future or they will have a hard time explaining (in a believable way) how Will got back.

@shirikohikarasi The rule of the Dutchman's captain is that if his lover remains loyal to him as he serves his 10 years at sea then he may return to her and retire from his Dutchman duties. Calypso failed to be loyal to Davy Jones forcing him to remain at sea for the rest of eternity and be able to touch ground once every ten years. He touched land in Dead Man's Chest so that's why in At World's End he stood w/ each foot in buckets or sea water while on land.

In my view the only way Elizabeth could have been on the Dutchman was only if she became part of the crew. The reason why Davey Jones looked like a squid was because he was in love with a woman goddess Calipso, who didn't wait for him after 10 yrs at sea. He flipped out and stopped transporting souls.
