@Shakrai It has to do with LotR :P You do know that Silmarillion's stories were collected of the ancient blah blah from arda which happens to be the world where lord of the rings took place.. So they have to do with each other.. I'm sorry I'm not too precise and blah blah blah.. but the tales of Silmarillion have everything to do with every Tolkien's books..

That sounds like complete shite, however although you may have ruined a great number of scenes in the movie with that revolting soundtrack I still love LOTR to bits and appreciate the time you gave to make this fan video.
My favorite song and my favorite movie...taking them both in was too much...my nervous system just snapped and turned into a sea of admiration and happiness...
Given the subject matter of the lyrics, I'm surprised nobody's done a Mordor/Cracks of Doom video with this song. (Yes, I know, the lyrics are about Angband and the evil god Morgoth -- Sauron's boss; but that's the closest analogous setting that movie clips exist for.)
How is it that the cavalry charge beginning at 4:10 is able to easily penetrate spearmen? Horses are turned back by sharp points and cohesive formations of spearmen defeat them.
According to the book version, the sunlight came over the hill as they charged, enhanced by Gandalf's "magic flashlight" as Ian Mckellen called it (or just clever timing) blinding the Orcs.
Why this would cause them to raise their pikes, I'm not sure, but on the other hand, the horses were going down a 40 degree slope, so: a pile of dead horses would provide a natural buffer for the remaining riders to jump over.
This song is about how, at Dagor Bragollach (Battle of the Sudden Flame), Fingolfin, upon seeing the extent of the defeat of the Noldor, charged alone to the gates of Angband (ie: Iron Hill) to demand single combat with Morgoth. A doomed but valiant effort. Definitely one of my favorite parts of the Silmarillion.
Hi Danny, great to hear from again my friend. Fantastic video for your return. The song is really great too, 5* fav vid for sure Thanks for posting this special song,
I can't say whether I like them or not - I haven't seen or read any. (The minus on my comment is totally unnecessary)
I was just watching the 2nd movie on DVD and fell asleep - does not mean the movie was bad. I couldn't get in it anyway because I wasn't familiar with the previous part.
I didn't mean I didn't like the film - I haven't even seen it because I fell asleep. (Not the movies fault)
you did a really good job editing this video... altough the song is theme is completely different than the video.. i still really like it..

I hope they're going to make a movie of the most important parts of the Silmarillion. Can't wait to see Fingolfin's battle with Morgoth.

Man, BG and Tolkien are One, in my opinion: they live in the same Era.
