Like Rodney says, Duke was deservedly a legendary fighter pilot and war hero. But he will also go down in history as a criminally corrupt politician. A "hero" in one aspect of your life doesn't always translate to being a hero in other parts of your life as well. There are more examples of this than I can count. As for Stevens - he's never been anything but a corrupt politician, so I'm looking forward to him finally getting the punishment he deserves.

This man was once considered the best fighter pilot that ever lived.

The elite US Navy flight school "Top Gun" was started because of this man and he taught there.

He was mostly famous for a "dogfight" he was in where he was flying solo and was engaged by an entire squadron of Russian Mig fighter jets.

The maneuvers he performed while dodging missiles and bullets are still taught in "Top Gun" and Navy and Airforce fighter pilot schools today, 40 years later.
