  • Babies this small should have head/neck support. Mamas should have been wearing them on the front and supporting the neck.

  • Those babies look so happy snuggled up with their moms and enjoying the rhythm of the dance.

  • @afroguineful..maybe u should think b4 u talk..some pepes may have been offended.

  • Look it,s take your baby to a mosh pit day at daycare.

  • Crazy black people.

  • @zengutsu yo man i'm black and kamadjeu is my dad!

  • I couldn't help but think about the safety of the children, but then I thought "I'm sure this is a tradition that has been practiced for centuries" so I'm pretty sure they know what they're doing lol

  • pinkmercy123456789 man its nothing safe in the world..even breathing air and drinking water....and i think that we are in a point that thinking is not safe too..tell this to a 11 or even 7 years old african boy who have a ak-47 in his hands and killing people that this is not safe...i think this is very good for the baby because dance is (almost) everything.

  • Hey, just don't drop the baby and its all good. =D And I doubt those women are going to ever drop the baby!

  • OMG!! if you guys dont like the video you dont have to comment on it freedom of speech is good but sometimes you guys need to know when to shut up b4 car seats thats how you had to carry your child and everything its there kid they know what there doing we dont always have to be so judgmental......this is beautiful to see how other cultures are they was dancing it was probly a game or etc but dont hate just appreciate or get the fuck off there page shit

  • Looking fun i want to try that!!!

  • so thats why them kids got all that damn rhymthn! hahah, gotta love africa! the mother land!

  • Thats the way we carry babies and small childrne i Africa, its safe and comfortable puts them to sleep and you dont have to worry about prams etc. My mum carried me like that and my sisters and brothers and we all here. Honestly it is safe and Africans do not have to conform to your social norms so stfu.

  • carrying babies like that is the easiest way to put them to sleep

  • Nothing gets on my nerves more than an ignorant mind, because noticed these are lappas the ladies are wearing, the babies will not fall out its all about heritage people...smh

  • It's the African Maternity Dance Team. Naw, I'm just kidding.

  • ..i think that's not safe for babies that are like 6 months or 3 months like the little baby in the video o.o

  • @kamadjeu

maybe it could be bad for their necks

but it seems like this is a tradition they have been doing for a long time so i guess it's safe

  • @pinkmercy123456789 it's tradition. and its ok to think like that but i came out fine. so dont worry it wont hurt them.

  • @pinkmercy123456789 they are use to it and trust me is safe more than carring them around we Africans know alot of safe things and we also think befor we do things.

  • @pinkmercy123456789 These mothers were also carried on back whiler their mothers danced one day ;)

  • @pinkmercy123456789 they are having a good time !! lol

  • @pinkmercy123456789

I think you don't have the right experience to really say so.

  • Love this! Cant wait to take an African dance class this fall!

  • haha the dog looks like he is thinking "wtf"

  • So cute to see your kid being splashed by another butt-a-fly

  • could someone explaint o me why they dance like that and with babies? is it like a celebration or smt? im curious, thanks :D

  • @stopthisnowmissy they dance like this because it's a tradition and part of our culture. if you would pay close attention and learn about the african culture you would know dance is apart of our culture in anything we do

  • Also kind of looks like a cute game.

  • that looked soo fun!

  • thats how african babies get all that rhythmn!

  • I wish I was there! It looks like a lot of fun

  • I wish I was there!

  • I don't see how they are holding the babies is any different then the babies slings and backpacks we use here is USA.... At least theirs is colorful and stylish.

  • wtf bitch that baby can snap his neck !

  • looks like fun. i freakin love their clothes, very colorful

  • Detroit ?

  • You may not be a racist, but you are obviously ignorant (and the two go together). What constitute "normal"? I hold my babies like that and trust me, it is very comfortable; your hands remain free to multi-task, including dance. In Africa, women have lot of experience in handling babies (they got many of them). Get off your coach, get a passport and get out there, learn to appreciate difference..!

  • @kamadjeu i think if the babies didn't like it they would be crying, obv they are safe and comfortable, and sleep right through it, and your touching your hips together not the babies, so why would they be bothered??? :) xx

  • @kamadjeu ok im only a 15 year old girl o_o, its just that i learned how babies have very fragile heads and necks because I have 2 baby brothers. but if you all say this is safe then I guess everyone is happy :)

  • @Jnobiii you've already tried to carry a baby like that? Normality for you is what?Who are you to decide what is normal, what is not? tries to carry a baby that way and you'll understand why they do. Have you heard a baby cry? no, because it's very comfortable to be worn on the back of his mother. it's very convenient for the mother as she has her child all the time with her and can do lots of things because his hands are free, it's normal for us. Respect the lifestyle of others please.

  • @Jnobiii Hmm, Jnobiii, I'm not sure where you're getting at or what your idea of normal is, please clarify. Humans hold their babies in similar ways to monkeys as well, we cradel, carry, and have them piggyback or clamp onto us in just the same way they do. We're quite alike. In the video it's obvious that the babies are being carried hands free (wrapped up to their mums backs) In Africa this is normal, here in the West, pushing baby carriers is expensive and pointless but normal hmm.

  • @Jnobiii

You're Just disgusting. After calling them "acting like monkeys",it's too late for apologize.

Maybe if one day u realize there a lot of right way to do a same, u wont die stupid as u actually are.

Do you think that the way u learn things is the only right way ?

u're a disgusting human being and probably u will die alone in the darkness of your mediocrity.

  • @Jnobiii and exactly how do normal people look like? eh! do u say africans or those women are not normal?monkeys is a little too harsh a word to describe the joyous way of young mothers trying to relax don't you think? do u know that a baby secured like that allows the mother to multi task since not every one has a maid or nanny to do things around the house so she cleans cooks and goes to the market without an excuse. what do u have to say for ur self?

  • How cool! Those babies are getting a fun early lesson in rhythm! I used to carry my dd in a torso carry like that. I bounced and swayed and rocked to calm her, but never thought to dance. She would have loved it because now dancing is one of her favorite things.

  • Respect, Tobre is in the North of Benin, I believe, beautiful dance!!

  • Awesome to see moms wearing their children and just going on with life. This is how it should be done! I think this is a great way to involve the children (and babies).

  • AWESOME! That is great! I love the babies going for quite a ride....I would never have the guts to do that with a baby on my back, but these mamas seem to know what they are doing!

  • So many people complaining about the babies are the same ones who rely on those death traps called "Automated Baby Rockers" then get dumbfounded when their child get's injured.

  • @markee871 its still african dance we all have similar dance moves most of them like the throwing hands in the air and the leg movement sort of like cramping plus clowning. if u are african u should know this i am from kenya, sorry if i offended did not mean to

  • lol i kept thinkin tha babies wus guna fall

  • correct me if im wrong but woudnt it make more sense 2 take dem flop flops off instead of dancing w/ em going "clap

    clap clap clap"

  • @honeybun33 NOOO it's for precussion along with handclapping XD

  • @VirgiltheDarkSlayer ok watever

  • hahahahaha

  • And I'm thinking you should stfu and stay out of other culture's business. Out of all the hundreds of years of them doing this dance/ritual I doubt a single baby has ever been injured or killed.

  • @Hervinbalfour I would put money that at LEAST ONE has.

  • @maureen1002 there is no CPS in Africa

  • @maureen1002 hahaahahahaaa! like they have CPS there you freakin idiot!

  • @danyellyify That's just wonderful. No agency to protect the children. So pretty much... no one gives a shit about child abuse in Africa....

  • ay, is dis lika a baby shower- tupperware

    partay african style ?..

  • this is the really africans, lov it!

  • These ladies are so happy!

  • reminds me of back home :)

  • Yeah, you're the greatest mack of all, pretty nice

  • magnifiq ! 5*

  • I might try learn this for our show

  • I like dis these girls got soul. There doing the bump. Some people don't know but you need a butt to do the "Bump". And as you see these sisters do have back.

  • i love how there are babies strapped to their backs lmao.. is it safe for their little heads to be bouncing around like that??

  • hahahah...yes it is;) thats why african people are stronge:)

  • @selrik007 it is you and your ignorant, unenlightened little mind that's strange

  • @bianca890 Their necks are secure, and they have space to breath, so it's all good. My mom use to tie me behind my back, and I tied my lil sisters behind my back too.

  • you didnt see a baby drop did you? no

Ide prefer my baby to be carried like that rather than be strapped into a car seat moving at 100km/ph.

  • the dog is like what the fu*k ??

  • heheh, yeah!! i sow it too..

  • lmfaaoo !

this is soo funny . x]

  • Nice babies xDDD

  • trust me it won't fall

  • Oh my gosh! I've never seen people dance with babies on their backs before!

  • Thanks

  • I have to go watch SHUGGIE OTIS

    BOOTIE COOLER now.

  • teeheehee@ the ass bumps lol

and about the babies, am sure they LOVED it. I used to love when my mom would move with me on her back. It was soothing as hell. And then when she'd speak, i could listen to the vibration of her voice from the back and omg, what a way to soothe a baby.

  • I carried all my children on my back as infants, danced African dance all through my pregnancies and with them tied on my back as infants. They never cried, and even fell asleep at times from the sounds of the drums and movements. They are dancers today...

  • Why are some of you complaining about the babies when the babies are not complaing. Do you hear any of them crying? You always have negative thoughts about African culture. Bet me the babies are enjoying the rock. This is where the dance style in those days come from (The Bumps)

  • woww that not dancind!! for god sake!!

    Thats BABY RODEOOOOO

    Ahhhuuuyyyyaaaaaaaaaiiiii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    :O)

  • don they worry about the babies head jumping about like that?
