@MrDataCode Now that is just ignorance! I have years of experience and I can say for 100% sure, that you can form a trust with a snake and they learn who you are and respond to good care in a positive way.
@MrDataCode You just can't wrestle reptiles. You have to total respect reptiles to handle them without getting bit. They need to be gentle handled always happy full belly, often handled since birth, every bit of that handling their enjoying. Basically you can't ever argue with a reptile and you have to keep them totally happy. Jason's having so many snakes happy to handle is a testament to his great effort in keeping those snakes. That's a lot of mouths to feed and snakes to regular handle.
jason, are you a snake expert, or are you just a hobbyist? I'm just wondering how you have so much success with emerald tree boas without getting bitten. it makes me want to own one but i know i wouldn't have your success.

Thanks for posting this! my fiance and i just got a baby red tail boa and he recently googled it and came across a bunch of horror stories about there size and aggression and how you can't have a cat or dog around or else they could get eaten if the snake is out of the cage. (which i dont plan for my other pets to go near it when it does reach a certain size) but anyway, after i showed him your video he gained more respect for our new legless family member :)

@jaimie64 color really has nothing to do with it in sexing snakes. Sometimes when they are full grown you can tell by size, spur length, or tail length but the best and most accurate way is to probe them.
@TheNiDreA you would be surprised how many people overcome that after seeing the tiny cute ones in person... then they move on to being okay with larger snakes.
@MrElbowgrease I make them go stand in the corner! JK! My albino ball is a very picky eater and she will only eat live and only in her tub where its very little light... sometimes she will eat small rats but not often... she eats mice more easily but when she gets really stubborn for a couple of months I coax her into eating an african soft fur rat which his their natural prey.

@my2clownfishrule yeah dont get one from petsmart... find one locally on craigslist or another reptile rescue... save an animal that really needs a good home! You can find them much cheaper from an individual and often with their entire setups as well!
i spose you have to be carefull and keep your big snakes away from your cat otherwise they might eat it or do snake only eat mice? cos i have seen a video of a snake that ate a small dog.
@MrNath5150 A big snake is capable of eating anything that will fit in its stomach, but I doubt my snakes would try to eat my cat because they are used to that scent being on me and know its not a food scent, so unless they were underfed, I doubt they would even try. My adult burmese is so picky, he wouldnt even take a guinea pig. Though of course I would never let my kitty around the big snakes just in case!
i would really love a GTP or an ETB but I have never owned a snake before and am afraid I couldn't handle it. I've heard they are very difficult snakes.. any advise?

I like the ball pythons. Your Houdini looks a lot like my Kay, although Kay is much larger; she is about 4 feet. My other ball, Bryan has been known to find ways out of his enclosures too. I've had him over 5 years and he has escaped twice. Once was in the night and he woke me up by crawling under my pillow. The other time was from a carrier. I had taken him with me to show to some friends I was staying with and he escaped. And I kid you not I found him in my overnight bag. :)

@xxtasha10xx get a ball python... there is a large variety of morphs too if you want something other than the normals. They are docile and do not get too large.
Those are some wonderful snakes! And your cat is adorable too. The only snake I have is a beautiful red-tailed boa. He's just a baby, a little over 2ft long, and the most docile snake I've ever had. I love him so much. <3
My first snakes were wild garter snakes, they were surprisingly easy to tame, but I had to release them when they refused to eat. :(

I had taken him with me to show to some friends I was staying with and he escaped. And I kid you not I found him in my overnight bag. :)

@xxtasha10xx get a ball python... there is a large variety of morphs too if you want something other than the normals. They are docile and do not get too large.

Those are some wonderful snakes! And your cat is adorable too. The only snake I have is a beautiful red-tailed boa. He's just a baby, a little over 2ft long, and the most docile snake I've ever had. I love him so much. <3
My first snakes were wild garter snakes, they were surprisingly easy to tame, but I had to release them when they refused to eat. :(

I just would like to commend you on the astounding time and care you provide for these animals. They are all so healthy, beautiful, and they look happy to be handled by you :) If only everyone was as good of a pet owner as you are!! Thank you for being responsible...I know too many people who own these beautiful creatures as a decoration and don't love them the way I love my CWD and my Corn Snake!
