Whitney has done this throughout most of the 80's and early 90's multiple times and some thought it was her musicians and it was her human singing voice. It is well know that Whitney and Cissy both had classical training. Even Black gospel singers have formal classical training. Black singers incorporate other styles and sometimes leave their formal training like Ledisi but that does not mean they can't do opera. They easily could and Whitney sure enough could even now. I don't understand when people say singers can't use whistle register when it is the same capacity to sing a another note. It is breathing your diaphram to produce the note and it is very simple to do! Its much harder to hit notes in head and superhead voice especially in upper fifth to sixth octave.
