With the old manuals u could put a shift kit in it. These new trans their just doing all that for u plus its all electronic now. It would cost a fortune to mod the trans. I am sure the shift latency might be able to be changed with a module. do they have them for these cars.
I've got an Evo X SST and i wouldn't really change it for a 5-speed prehistoric manual gear box... and it's not fully automatic you blithering idiot, just the two clutches are, you can still change gear on your own and unlike most dsg it doesn't shift when you reach redline, so it's really fun to drive..but yeah go on with your slow manual gear changes..

But I agree, it does look kinda stupid to watch an Evo launching and just seeing both of the guys hands just sitting on the steering wheel doing nothing rofl. Did it a bit ago and it's EPIC!! My tires are not meant for ultra dry grip so at each shift I literally lost traction cause of the recircs torque spike at the shift.
I know. as u can see on my videos Ive posted another one that says Done Properly or something like that that shows the correct way of doing it and the rpm going to 5k :)
it is very hard to launch with this launch control.. if you go a little hard the engine stops and tells you to slow down... so I was a litle more careful on this attempt..
The same thing happened to me too, I figured out what I was doing wrong
1. Complete Stop
2. S-Sport
3. Hold ASC till it beeps at you (Bout 3 seconds)
4. Hold break a good way
5. Press the gas to the floor as quickly as you can (Don't ease into it you gotta go from foot off the gas to foot to the floor as quickly as you can then your RPMS will sky rocket quickly
I found out that if I took my time, it didn't engage Launch Control, only feel like my car wanted to go but breaks held me steady.
But keep in mind, you can't go slow on the gas, you have to literally push it RIGHT to the floor as fast as you can and it will shoot the RPMs up without even trying to move you forward, and yes, ASC OFF OFF gotta hold it till it beeps and the screen turns yellow for a couple seconds
Yeah trust me I noticed the diffrence, if you feather the gas or press on it really slow, your car kinda groans as in it wants to go and you can feel it trying to move through the breaks, but if you do it properly, your drive isn't even engaged, it just is pretty much neutral, and will rev up very fast, Note: Don't hold it to long, I just let go of the break as soon as it hits 5 RPM's if you hold it up there to long, it will cut out and say slow down

I think you are doing it wrong. When you have the launch control activated your revs should be around 5000 RPM.
