The thing that irritates us about the RT report above is that it's sniggering and snidey. It shows very little respect to England as an honest bidder. It also tries to make out that the UK is blaming Russia when the real object of ire is FIFA and its dodgy voting practices. It also tries to make out that the UK is blaming Russia when the real object of ire is FIFA and its dodgy voting practices. This may be down to different attitudes towards what constitutes racism in different countries, but my guess is the number of black players on the pitches in Russia will be a bit of a culture shock.
Statistics are difficult to quantify because not many countries have commissions for racial equality so racism is not even monitored.

I'm sure most Russians will even admit that they have a problem with mafia influence in their country. However, today FIFA are more likely to give the tournament to countries which have not hosted the world cup before (even if crime and corruption is high - South Africa, Brazil).
