  • VERY NICE SOLO MAN..eRIC IS GREAT DRUMMER :) YOU'RE SO LUCKY TO LEARN FROM HIM..gŽgOD BLESS

  • damn this nice. reminds me of Mark Guiliana a bit too

  • Awesome... Very inspiring to see this kind of playing in an empty room. You have great energy and feel. I hear a lot of dynamics as well. You kill it!

  • Best thing about watching your videos.....they make me want to shred soooo badlly. But then again it's 12 at night right now, making that impossible without being evicted. Oh well, fenominal playing bro, keep posting cause I'm going to keep watching.

  • Amazing stuff. Would you care to make some instructional videos?

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWMAN! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! You are sooooo killing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aaaah I think I'm going to cry lol! But seriously You Are Amazing... Keep it up!

  • Gretagreat drumming!! It was very musical indeed:-)

    /Walle

  • wat school do u go to??...

  • @musicallytoned1 Skidmore College in upstate New York.

  • I hear three bars of 7/8 and one bar of 4/4

  • please, let me know what kind of sequencer you use?

    thanks a lot

  • great playing man

  • how did u get a lesson with eric?

  • Amazing! Good to see a drummer with skill who actually plays something dynamic and intricate as well as groovy. Reminds me a bit of Mark Guilliana's drumming. Shame about the recording quality though. I hope to see more of your stuff.

  • Tasty!!!! I love the color!!!

  • Yeah Man!

  • suena bien...el problema es que suena como Harland....cuál es tu propia voz en la batería???

  • I'm lovin the clip

and the kit.....What are the specs?

  • very smooth, man!

  • Wow 3:08 starts a wicked exploration of the groove. Nice playin' Eric Harland is incredible. Have you all heard that Kurt Rosenwinkel double disc The Remedy. Thats is Eric doing some great wk

  • Yeah man...molto bravo

  • man. you are sick.

  • youve improved a lot

  • Zmoney- any wisdom on fast cross sticking?? You seem to be part of the club of cats- harland, nate smith, chris dave, etc.. that can cross stick like a beast!

  • Is it just me or does this sound like 7+7+7+8?

    With the 7 being a 2+2+3?

I'm assuming for it to be 5/5/5/6 the HiHat circa 1:40 are the pulses? Which makes the piano part what over that?

Either way, super amazing and unbelievably inspirational.

  • ........

  • Hey man - like your videos, and dig that you seek out heavy cats to shed with. Was just reading your comments about practicing odd meters and I feel the same way. I think writing a bass line is a great way of internalizing something without counting numbers! Thanks for the inspiration.

  • this time signature seems hard as fuck to play!

  • you're awesome. and how does the 5/6 work out? i can grip and play in the compound time sigs that end in 8, like 7/8 and what not. but how exactly does the 5/6 pan out?

  • lol! i don't think even a 1/3 of the people on here will get that. hilarious!

  • so it was to be put into an actual sig it would be something like 21/32? lol

cant cut the 21 in half really. still very cool, and real solid playing. Grovin like that while actually keeping track of counting like that is impressive to me. keep it up.

  • Thanks man. Honestly I think the best way to get good at playing odd time signatures is not to over analyze it too much and feel it more so you don't have to count at all. I never count while I'm playing and things just flow a lot better when I don't.

  • ya you know you have it down right when an audience can listen to it and not know it's in an odd time signature. if it sounds trippy than play it differently. but you hit this one on the nail!

  • It's not really in 5/6. That was a typo. That time signature doesn't even exist, lol. It's actually 3 bars of 5/8 and one bar of 6/8.

  • where are you from?

  • I'm from Los Angeles.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey man thanks for the comment. I actually only attended Berklee for one semester. I go to Skidmore college in upstate New York. But I'm thinkink of going back after I graduate.

  • Way Badass!!!

  • real real solid. if you made a groove with those elements you would be a god..

  • bloody hell, sounds like a drum machine, nice, solid man

  • if there's a drum machine like this then i quit drumming lol.

  • Der Hammer - das ist echt geil

    Respekt!

  • omg, its awesome

    that's something, grats a lot

  • yo man u are sikc bro! love the technique keep it up

  • Wooooo, I didn't dig the piano at the top, but your groove completely made up for it.

  • Why do you play the pedals without shoes? Is it more easy to play?

  • hell yeah dude!

  • love it.

  • you are really inspiring! I love you're playing. do you have any regular bands I can hear you play in?

  • Really nice!

  • shitty camera angle...

  • This is sweet! I love this style and you play it with authority. Check me out if you're interested.

  • Man, really diggin' the metric stuff you were doing around the 3 minute mark. Very technical playing. Really good.

  • 3:10 are you kidding me man!? right on man and in full control, i love it more, and differently than Erics all playing...and Erics the man. your gonna get snagged soon by the big boys if ya havent been already :) check out Ted Poor

  • this is madness =O

    your insane

  • killin bro. chris dave, eric harland are where its at, im diggin the shit your doing, keep it up

  • nice room to practise..!

...is it yours, or is it from college..?

  • soundz good man but u really need to sort out ur camers angle !!

  • sounds pretty good to me!

  • nice man i dig your style

  • you had a lesson with eric! hes the man

    how much was it??

playing sounds great, sounds like your in to the houston drummers same as me (eric harland, chris dave, kendrick scott)

  • i'm hearing some david king in there. nice man.

  • i see a lot of thomas pridgen and gil sharone here, which is an AWESOME thing. good job man

  • Sounds awesome man!! Is Mark Guiliana an influence too? You both have a similar style, really like it!!

  • wow! you're a big inspiration for me right now. i've been watching all your videos many times trying to understand what's going on. keep up the good work, i'm sure we'll hear from you soon.

  • where do you get these timed loops from they are so helpful !! ty

  • I record them myself on piano.

  • i like it

  • i like that loop ,maybe i do response how i imagine too.Something simple i do ,mean.

  • Beautiful!!!

  • That's the most expressive drumming since Bruford or Hamilton. Perhaps way better than both.

  • Now that's very awesome! Enjoyed that a lot, just like all the other videos from you. 3:00, that was one of the greatest parts on this vid.

  • so dam good

  • Sounds great man.

  • I can see alot of Chris Daddy Dave inspiration here. Great work

  • man do you know you the next phenomenom hahahaha its amazin how open minded people are,and i noticed your style changed

  • yea its sick but dont make his head explode

i cant argue with you though i love the dudes playing
