yo ur playing is phenominal, so many ideas and it flows so well i was just wonderin like in general how many hours a day u practiced, ima drummer my self and just want to see how many hours it takes to get where u r, check out my drum vids if u like, im 17
trying to comprehend and analyze this drumming (which is what i do when observing any other drummer) really makes my head hurt, but i cant stop watching it. dude really amazing shit, thanks for all the vids seriously im blown away.
Awesome... Very inspiring to see this kind of playing in an empty room. You have great energy and feel. I hear a lot of dynamics as well. You kill it!
Best thing about watching your videos.....they make me want to shred soooo badlly. But then again it's 12 at night right now, making that impossible without being evicted. Oh well, fenominal playing bro, keep posting cause I'm going to keep watching.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWMAN! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!! You are sooooo killing it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aaaah I think I'm going to cry lol! But seriously You Are Amazing... Keep it up!
Amazing! Good to see a drummer with skill who actually plays something dynamic and intricate as well as groovy. Reminds me a bit of Mark Guilliana's drumming. Shame about the recording quality though. I hope to see more of your stuff.
Wow 3:08 starts a wicked exploration of the groove. Nice playin' Eric Harland is incredible. Have you all heard that Kurt Rosenwinkel double disc The Remedy. Thats is Eric doing some great wk
Zmoney- any wisdom on fast cross sticking?? You seem to be part of the club of cats- harland, nate smith, chris dave, etc.. that can cross stick like a beast!
Hey man - like your videos, and dig that you seek out heavy cats to shed with. Was just reading your comments about practicing odd meters and I feel the same way. I think writing a bass line is a great way of internalizing something without counting numbers! Thanks for the inspiration.
you're awesome. and how does the 5/6 work out? i can grip and play in the compound time sigs that end in 8, like 7/8 and what not. but how exactly does the 5/6 pan out?
so it was to be put into an actual sig it would be something like 21/32? lol
cant cut the 21 in half really. still very cool, and real solid playing. Grovin like that while actually keeping track of counting like that is impressive to me. keep it up.
Thanks man. Honestly I think the best way to get good at playing odd time signatures is not to over analyze it too much and feel it more so you don't have to count at all. I never count while I'm playing and things just flow a lot better when I don't.
ya you know you have it down right when an audience can listen to it and not know it's in an odd time signature. if it sounds trippy than play it differently. but you hit this one on the nail!
Hey man thanks for the comment. I actually only attended Berklee for one semester. I go to Skidmore college in upstate New York. But I'm thinkink of going back after I graduate.
3:10 are you kidding me man!? right on man and in full control, i love it more, and differently than Erics all playing...and Erics the man. your gonna get snagged soon by the big boys if ya havent been already :) check out Ted Poor
wow! you're a big inspiration for me right now. i've been watching all your videos many times trying to understand what's going on. keep up the good work, i'm sure we'll hear from you soon.
really nice man.....it is a gretsch or slingerland???hard to see in the video.....keep going...thanks

Is it just me or does this sound like 7+7+7+8?
With the 7 being a 2+2+3?
I'm assuming for it to be 5/5/5/6 the HiHat circa 1:40 are the pulses? Which makes the piano part what over that?
Either way, super amazing and unbelievably inspirational.
