Just love this song! When I request this song on the radio stations ( Phoenix, AZ) they say they never heard of it. Music wise, it hard for a brother out here. Bless you YOUTUBE!
fantastic song i baught the album in 1981 love this song,, michael jackson and louis johnson worked together alot , louis wrote get on the floor for mj and also worked with many other artists and plays a mean bass

Being a huge Michael fan when this album first came out, this is the only song I would play. Then after a few months when I wore it out, I discovered that every song on the album was a jam. But Michael's vocals and Louis THUMPIN THAT BASS had me stuck on this one song for a while!
Aww...Mikey's *Uh-huh* at 3:01 is too cute. This is so funky..can't believe I never heard it before now. I had found the LP in my basement...but our record player is broken :(
Quincy and Bruce Swedien had an amazing way of blending voices together. You can clearly here MJ but the voices sound as one, not a harmony. MJ was throwing down with the brothers right here.
Wow, I love the beginning, and the transition too. You know this is one of favorites! :-D *bobs head* Da, da, da, da, da... Yesterday, you set me, or is it you've walked out on me. This is the song. These youngins don't know anything about real music.
Yes, his legacy will truly be remembered, and I hate to see any artist leave too soon, especially an person like Michael Jackson with such immense talent as his. I'm glad you enjoyed.
This was one of the first albums I ever listened to (I was 4!). My parents used to play "Light Up The Night" and "Off The Wall" all day/everyday before "Thriller" came out....good times! Thanks for posting this classic.
I was aware of that, thanks for sharing that valuable information with us about Off the Wall orignally was for the Brother Johnsons. I'm glad that Michael got it though cause he added that extra magic to it. I'm glad you enjoyed too.
You're welcome, thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed. I was actually introduce to this song last year, and once I heard it. I instantly fell in love with the Brother Johnsons all over again, and to top it off, Michael Jackson doing background. MJ being apart of it made me like it even more.
I searched for this song specifically to give a shout out to Michael Jackson's voice on this track. It has been in my music rotation for 29 years. RIP Mike.
I'm glad you found what you were looking for. :-D Thanks for watching, and enjoying. You're so lucky to have known such great music with substance for long. I envy you. Thanks for watching and enjoying.
Ma favorite bassman LOUIS JOHNSON. On You tube, is anyone can play CELEBRATION from the same album "light up the the night" and MIDNIGHT SOUL PATROL (Quincy Jones) with stanley Clarke and Billy Cobham on drums ? Louis plays amazing solo on these 2 tunes ? Many "funky" thanks !
Me too, I had to do it, so it wouldn't be copy right ingridgement, but it turned out pretty good. I love the intro as well as the song, and I'm glad you enjoyed.
@ladylibrakennique This had to be my most favorite album all times ! maybe because i i play bass ??? or i' might love MJ's songs or the styje Louis plays the bass ??? I thihk it all happens at the same time and i am thaitfull fot that,,,,,

First, comment, yipppie! I like the Brothers Johnson too, especially their song, 'Strawberry Letter 23'. That's one of my favorites, and you r right about, 'Stomp', too. ;-) I like ur video, and I hear my baby, Michael a little in the song. "Oooh!" Thanks, girl. Keep them coming and great work!

Quincy Jones had a good ear for talent and produced both. the song GET ON THE FLOOR from OFF THE WALL was suppose to be for the Brothers Johnson
