@718273 Okay so I was able to get this on filmbaby.com a few hours ago and just finished watching the whole thing. I have to say Sean, this is a wonderful piece of work you have here. Very touching and the ending was the most emotional part of all.
All of these people stating that race relations are no longer an issue would do well to educate themselves further on the subject. Some great starting points are websites like racialicious, abagond, or Unnatural Causes. This is a prime example of why we need to focus on a more inclusive view of history and critical thinking in our schools. Anyone who thinks a. racism doesn't exist anymore or b. we all get equal treatment should really do some reading and talk to some folks.
@Twwistad Thanks Twwistad for your honest critique hopefully the next film will be more to your taste. But that's the business can't please eeryone. Stay up brother.
@718273 Actually I'm a black girl. And I think this is stupid because it's just not important. I'm tired of this huge emphasis on interracial dating, and such. It's getting annoying. Plus I am a misanthrope but that's a whole other topic.
@Twwistad Sorry about that . This story is not about dating but a relationship between two brothers, how one learns to forgive and accept the other despite color. This is a beautiful world but there are still folks that just wont like you because of your color Twwistad. Yes enjoy and love friends and others you are in contact with that are of a different color but don't be blinded to reality as though hatred isn't still going on. When you are aware of evil you're more apt to stand against it.
@718273 I understand what your saying, but this world is going through a specific change. The issues between black and white relations will never cease to exist. It has been reduced, but it will never cease to exist. I do hate racist people I feel that they are one of the scums on the earth because all humans are equal. I am just tired of this black white relations thing. I just want everyone to be seen as equal than having taboo relationships with each other.
omg, i wanna see this movie. this trailer has hooked me in. especially since there are real black families raising white kids as foster children. actual two parent black families raising them with their bio kids...again this film's trailer has hooked me in and i wanna watch.
i don't know if this will see the light of day on your channel it was from the beginning enlightening just how many of us stereotype others from the opening scene of the girl asking was the black woman his nanny she couldn't believe that a black person could adopt or parent through of course mixed race relationship a white kid.
what erea is this film suppose to be done at? i can't tell you how furious i was too hear the girl ask Johnny what does he know about black people. As if every black person lives the same lifestyle. Blacks are as diverse racial, educationally and financially as any other group of people. Curtis Brown's character is a ignorant bigot to generalize all white people as evil is just wrong. Just as it is wrong for any white person too do it in reverse to other races. Race hate is a mental social fail
I purchased this movie yesterday on Staten Island at Major's Records. I watched it with my nephew last night. I was very moved by the story. If only we can see beyond color. I love everyone! Thank you Sean for bringing such an intense movie to DVD. I think people of all color should watch this movie.
@stevescissors Agreed, sometimes we need to see how ugly hatred is in order to speak against it. Sadly this is still a reality in the hearts and minds of some folks to this day. Thank you for your support.
@718273 I agree in the hearts of "Some Folks" not all. Remember the day of 911. Everyone I passed on The Staten Island Ferry weeks after the tragic attack, whites, blacks and other races would walk pass one another with a certain look or smile in their eyes, it was like we were as one. We all stuck by each other, there was no color in 2001. Sad, but it took an act like that to see through and beyond people. Much sucess with the movie, and you have to make more. By the way, are you Sean?
I'm honored to have my song featured on the trailer for White Boy Brown. Thank you Sean! You did a great job! I can't wait to see the full version of this film!
