As a professional artist, every now and then I will feel proud of my work and entertain the notion that I have skills...then I'll see something by James Jean. Man that guy rocks. I'm almost (but not quite) glad that he's stopped doing my favorite comic's covers...now I only get humbled every now and then instead of every month...oh wait, my desktop background is a James Jean drawing...crap.

Once I was in a gondola in Vermont with some Candians. One actually turned to the other and said "Good day, eh?"

Was all I could do to keep from laughing.

And somehow calling Martha handsome is far more dignified that calling her, say, a totally hot hoser babe. I like the way Ken Tanaka compliments women.
