I am viewing this performance of Amy Winehouse for the very first time, by sheer coincidence, on the date of my 55th birthday (Oct. 20)......and allow me to say, it was quite an enjoyable 2:38 of my day. Amy was, indeed, a truly unique & gifted talent.......more than a great Female vocalist; she was a song "Stylist". Her lyrical "interpretation" was unmatched.........simply put, there was no other vocalist, Male or Female quite like her. Her memory will be cherished.

One of the best live versions of this classic song right from the execution, the stunning lyrics that is beautiful like a pearl, from Amy's shining, amazing, and unique vocals that doesn't have to depend on autotune or any other technology. For someone to write such a song so mature as this just goes to show how talented she really was. She wasn't just an excellent singer but a gifted songwriter and not many singers can do both of these things at once.

not to be an asshole. i like here music, but people forget she was an alcoholic. i have seen her shows a couple of times and she never made it past 6 songs. because she got to drunk to stand. and 6 songs + talking is about 30 - 40 minutes. once again i will say she is a great artist and she shouldn't be forgotten but her life style and her death should also not be forgotten

People should know she was also a truly beautiful person.How the media portrayed her in the uk(based on a couple of drunken outbursts) was so far from the truth. I love you Amy, I will miss you so much, just as the world will miss your music.
She was an amazing talent with such an awe inspiring voice. She is easily one of the greatest singers this country has ever produced and there will never be another like her.
I know people that have met her on nights out and they said she was happy to chat and pose for photographs, that she was down to earth and friendly.

not to be an asshole. i like here music, but people forget she was an alcoholic. i have seen her shows a couple of times and she never made it past 6 songs. because she got to drunk to stand. and 6 songs + talking is about 30 - 40 minutes. once again i will say she is a great artist and she shouldn't be forgotten but her life style and her death should also not be forgotten

@TheEskimosPantry Too true; i've watched just about every live vid i could find + it never seizes to amaze me how easily she could change the pace of the lyrics/vocals and still stay in perfect rythm with the band. Imo Amy's singing and presence went above that of the old time classic jazz vocalists. Gutted ....

@TheEskimosPantry Exactly, she was technically brilliant, probably the best singer this country has ever produced. I worked with her in 2006 and am honoured to say she was a friend of mine. People should know she was also a truly beautiful person.How the media portrayed her in the uk(based on a couple of drunken outbursts) was so far from the truth. I love you Amy, I will miss you so much, just as the world will miss your music.

She was an amazing talent with such an awe inspiring voice. She is easily one of the greatest singers this country has ever produced and there will never be another like her.
I know people that have met her on nights out and they said she was happy to chat and pose for photographs, that she was down to earth and friendly.
I still cant believe she has gone. I will miss all the beautiful music you wont be able to bring to us now but you will never be forgotten.

@paulmay7777 i remember the first time i actually heard amy music , my daughter bought "Back to Black" and played it. first track stopped me doing what i was doing in the house, then as the next track came on , i had to ask her who the singer was , at first i thought she was a black american singer,, i have to admit i was mezmerised.. few artists can do this, stop you to make YOU LISTEN .. am heartbroken her talent is no more.. its OUR LOSING GAME

@sindri2007 It's the translation between the notes on the page and the sounds a musician makes. To illustrate, have you ever heard a .MIDI file played by a computer? That .MIDI file is playing the exact notes it is told but it often lacks feeling; computers can't convey emotion, they don't have the subtlety. When musicians play the same music good ones can put emotion into it with their timing. So phrasing is kind of the expression put into the music by the musician.

My favourite performance of this song - when Amy takes off in that final verse it sends shivers down my spine! In this time of musical dross & emotional fakery Amy's honesty and genius and her ability to sing from the heart and core of her being makes her shine far brighter than the rest.
