  • A faulty ECU is all you need! I thought it was something to do with idle control.

  • @1100HondaCB It's been good since January, holding idle! I have the spare ECU just in case the one I have goes dead, which, with my luck, will happen.

  • @theexitwound German stuff in general is pretty robust and shouldn't give any untoward problems.

    The issue was that the ECU (computer) of the car had some blown transistors. The Idle Stabilizer Valve was not turning on, and was stuck in an 'open' position letting too much air in. We swapped transistors on the ECU but no go. I replaced the ECU completely with a used one from another car. ISV powers up, and idle is now stable!
