  • desert vehicles doesn't have rust

  • Is something added over the dust layer to protect it?

  • itchy bon, nice weathering

  • great build, but i think the engine is a little too clean... :)

  • very good job...

  • I'm not impressed. I picture it more spectacular.

  • @JAGDPANTHER20 troll.

  • @Xaiango shut your word hole.

  • what did he mix the pastels with? what kind of thinner??

  • It's Tamiya X20 acrylic thinner. Tamiya packages its acrylics in round bottles and its enamels in square so there's no confusion.

  • oh nice! yeah i just noticed the x20 on the bottle duh me...

    thanks!

  • questi riescono a complicare anche le cose più semplici!

  • Whats the liquid thing he mix with the chalk powder?

  • It wasn't chalk powder. It was a flattening agent used to give the paint a dead flat finish. He mixed it into his paint.

  • whats that powder i see everyone using, whats the purpose of it? please help

  • Chalk.

  • its for weathering! you could go to a art store and ask for chalk pastels!

  • what mix does he do at the 45 sec mark to get the dark details to stand out?? im working on an abrams and have seen many people on your videos do this, but I dont understand the what the mix is?? PLEASE HELP!!!

  • It's called a "wash." Just mix 1 part paint with about 10 parts thinner. If your model is painted with acrylic paint, use oil-based paints for your wash. You don't want all that thinner hurting your finish.

While that wash is still wet, mix a "detail wash" of 1 part paint to 5 parts thinner. Load a little of that onto a SMALL brush and touch bolts, hinges, seams, etc. The wet wash will "draw" your detail wash down against the edges of the bolts, etc.

    Hope this helps.

  • Thanks a mil...Quick question though! I am using enamel based paints....is it the same idea or would it be a completely different technique??

  • thank you so much!

  • Thank you for wonderful tips.

Im new to this and trying to learn much as i can from here. ;)

Im using Tamiya acrylic paint and should I use enamel paint for wash? Im little confused.

    Thank you so much

  • Yep. Use enamel for your wash. The enamel thinner will not react with the acrylic paint - it won't damage the paint you already have on there. So 1) apply your base colors, camo, etc with the Tamiya acrylic and once that's dry, 2) apply your enamel wash like I described above..

    Good luck.

  • Thank you so much ;)

  • thanks

  • is that 1/48

  • 1/16

  • NERDS RULE!!!!

  • Excellent as usual!!
