What does the daughter say after the father says, 'this is mine. this is mine. this is mine. this is not mine. who the hell is this!' it sounds like she says 'he's a nine' but I'm not sure.
@PS890 I'm not aware of Rent ever mashing up at the Easter Bonnet - usually they do a straight forward song. However, there are some great parody Rent songs they did for Forbidden Broadway. I know they did Seasons of Hype, This Ain't Boheme, Rant, Ouch There Tight. Just look for Forbidden Broadway Rent and there are some videos on You Tube. (My favorite Forbidden Broadway tunes - "God It's High" (Les Miz) and "Defying Chenoweth" (Wicked).
@xxtontixx Molly Ephraim played Bielke. She's done several things including Into the Woods and was in the Disney 2008 movie College Road Trip. Most recently she was Ali in Paranormal Activity 2.
@saphuras1122 Thanks for all the positive comments. I think its the best of all the satire works such as Forbidden Broadway and such. The writers really created something special and all the actors did a wonderful job. I was so unhappy when the original video disappeared, but i was fortunate to stumble upon it by accident. This is what You Tube was created for - to bring us great performances we wouldn't be able to see otherwise (especially for a good cause).
@KatherineLupin This is from 2004. She did Fiddler for a couple of years playing Shprintze and Chava. I know she started working on Wendla for Spring Awakening in workshop as early as 2000, but she didnt appear on Broadway until six years later in the role. She also had a stint as Anne Frank in Washington DC in 2006.
I love this. As I was watching I thought I saw Lea michele in the front but I didn't think it was her. It dawned on me that she did fiddler on the roof before spring awakening.
@ilovBHH Molly Ephraim. I guess she is remembered for playing Little Red Riding Hood in the 2002 revival of Into the Woods. She's done some TV as well as was in a production of End Days at Studio Ensemble Theatre last year.
@HappyEmoz The Easter Bonnet Competition takes place once a year. This year's Easter Bonnet will be held Monday, April 26 (4 p.m.) and Tuesday, April 27 (2:30 p.m.) at the Minskoff Theatre. Each year the skits change (based in part of what shows are playing on Broadway). The cheap seats are like 20 and 40 bucks, but the decent tickets start at $120 and go up (its a fundraiser). It usually takes place the last Monday and Tuesday of April each year.
@HappyEmoz I guess there have been other "mash-ups" at the Easter Bonnet, but this is by far the best. The Easter Bonnet (in case you didn't know) is an event each year where Broadway shows create a "bonnet" which is auctioned off for Broadway Cares. They also present a short skit - in this case Fiddler and Avenue Q combined for the event. (You can see the bonnet at the end of the show which Tzeitel is wearing)
@HappyEmoz I don't think it's very common to see a true mixture of two musicals. Other than a show like Spamalot (which satyrizes shows like Les Miz, Andrew Lloyd Webber, West Side Story and others), most of the skits tend to throw in a song or two. This is one of the most creative combinations of two shows that I know of - but maybe other people have some idea about other broadway mashups out there?
This is incredible! I saw this video a couple of years ago and was NEVER able to find it!! Thank you so much for posting this I've watched it 5 times already in one night...is that terrible!?!? haahahah!!
I know what you mean Remys - I laughed so hard the first time I saw it. To be honest even after it was removed, someone posted it under the title 911 was an inside crime :D. I only discovered it when i was looking at Sept. 11. The guy is a conspiracy idiot but I am grateful for letting me find the video.
What's blowing my mind is that there is a delay from the actor saying to word to it making it through the sound system...but they have the puppet's mouth movements synced up perfectly to this delay. Incredible!
I totally agree. Even the best of Forbidden Broadway seems like an amateurish quick skit. This one actually seems like the writers took a lot of time and skill to create.
is it just me or was that Lea Michele at the end?
sugasuga425 3 days ago
@sugasuga425 You are correct sir - Lea Michele was in Fiddler (she played Sprintze) that year on Broadway - this was before Spring Awakening
