  • I got a Mapex maple snare drum yesterday, and i would like to have it tuned like kind of a hollow-ish sound, like the medium tuning . Any tips? Like how tight my heads should be, how tight the snare should be, etc. Any tips would be appreciated :)

  • I don't like it too much!

  • DrumCenterNH should play the snares they demo with a kit doing beats so we know what it'll sound like when we play it with gigs or something of the sort

  • It's funny how in all the DrumCenterNH videos, he speeds up his playing when the tuning is higher. lol

  • I have this exact same drum. I warped the shell cause i tuned it too tight on the bottom so it was ruined until my father fiddled around with it and now it sounds great. great snare with great ranges in tuning but i am looking for a DW snare or a ludwig brass snare

  • you can listen to the sound of this drum in my drum vids

  • @JamonjiCahillibongo Yamaha is NOTORIOUS for bad customer service, and EXTREME wait times for parts. Buy American... period.

  • How is it tuned on the low tuning? How many turns on the batter head and how many turns on the reso head tension rods?

  • @drummaryan Get a drum dial.
