I don't have much of a problem with smoking and smokers but I won't ever do it for 2 main reasons. I've already had cancer and came about as close as you could get to dying, I'm still on chemotherapy and I'm going to do everything I can from avoiding it again. The second reason is I live a very active lifestyle and I need good lungs. I'm a highschool basketball player and track runner and I plan on always staying fit and regularly exercising even in my old age.

Because the tobacco is aged the nitrate compounds are also concentrated. Possible cancers/diseases as a result: mouth, throat, lung, and heart disease. There is also a possible link to cancer in the pancreas. So indeed, don't listen to everything tobacco lobbies tell you.

It wasn't tobacco lobbies that claimed cigars were less harmful. It was seperate corporations, spectators, and skeptics. The tobacco companies simply collaborated with the positive conclusions. Certain cigars may carry a more concentrated dosage of chemicals, true. Although, this does not apply for the majority of cigars, as many of them use natural tobacco and no additives. And also, you have to "inhale" the smoke in order to take further harm from those chemicals, but you don't inhale cigars.

Greg, as a small critisism of your otherwise excellent video, I think that you shouldn't belittle the effects of smoking on one's health. Lung cancer is all too common in the world. An example of one smoker living old is, as you well know, irrelevant but will be stored in the mind of a young individual who relaxes with a pack of cigarettes every day. There's a huge difference in relaxing with a cigar every now and then and smoking.

Cigars have been linked to many types of cancer (granted, everyone already knows this), but also to emphysema, heart disease, and erectile dysfunction. One cigar has about the same tobacco as an entire pack of cigarettes. Also, to use your own example, smoking 15-17 cigars per day will reduce your life expectancy by one hell of a lot more than 1-2 years. Liked the video, though :)
