China's navy may not be as advanced as ours, but I wouldn't discount their ability to make war. The ability to make war and defeat an adversary doesn't always have to do with who has the best equipment. Training and dedication to a cause are really all that is needed.
A small carrier like this with just a couple dozen fighters could wreak havoc on other surface vessels.

india's aircraft carrier is over 60years old, it does not have multi role fighting jets, it has small jets like harriers. india is no where near completetion of its vikrant class which is a small 40000 tonnage ship.
they are currently trying to buy the russians gorshkov, however the deal has not been followed through for years now. it is another refurbished ship.
as soon as india acquires the next 2 ships, they will be decommissioning the 60 year old which means only 2 ships.
