This was always one of my favorite TCM intros. Chet Baker had a really beautiful voice. The great art work was by Edward Hopper. And yes, the edgier one they replaced it with is not as nice....
I am surprised no one posted a comment on this old fashion style "bumper" very unique. Suppose I am just sentimental. Very well done piece, too short though.
@geo386 --- From what I understand, there was a series of these done in Edward Hopper's style. This is the only one I ever managed to tape, but I'm guessing you could find the others on YouTube somewhere. ;)
@jaquen1977 Thank you for responding. I recently looked on You Tube under "bumpers" and found this gem. I am glad I was able to touch a warm fuzzy place for you. I am slightly *ahem* older although your comment was very appreciated. The term is a bit antiquated but many of the ones I find evoke a simpler time when life was a bit less hectic.
@geo386 Yes, I searched for "bumpers" as well. Are you an author? I find you have an uncanny ability to evoke a bit of nostalgia yourself, using the simpliest of words. Hearing you allude to simplier times really strikes a cord with me. Thank you.
@jaquen1977 My thanks for your kind words I grew up in a world sans internet without all the trappings of modern technology. I suppose it is only natural that I should evoke these feelings of when life was embraced and cherished and not taken for granted.
Love this bump. It really takes me to the sunny side.

@geo386 Lord, I love this bumper. It fills me with all kinds of warmth and nostalgia, despite the fact that I'm only 30!
