@woo2fly21 yea i dont go against the grain no matter what i go down ways and sideway then,, and remember to shave one time per week its more healthy:)
Whoa, how can you shave with that razor that quickly?! I tried my friend's Merkur once, it took me 20 minutes. This was the first time I used a professional razor (i.e. one that's not called Gilette) and It felt like I needed a blood transfusion after that!!!
The screw on these will eventually pull away from the top plate, making the razor useless. I've had several. Good razor, though, for about five years. Then you'll have to toss it.
I have the same razor but I need to loosen the blade a little bit to get a better shave. I realise now it's not an adjustable razor - am I doing something wrong? I get a much better shave when I loosen it and I don't want to splash out again, just spent £30! Any advice?
I"m thinking in buying a safety razor and I want to know between Merkur 34c hd or muhle r89 who is better, or what do you recommend between this two? Thanks a lot ! great videos ! Keep up!
But still you seem to have great experience in shaving with various tools, I just would like to hear your personal opinion of which one is in fact the best one for you and why.
This may be a random question, but does the hair on your neck grow upward or downward? Mine grows upward so I try shaving upward for my first pass but I keep getting terrible razor bumps on my neck from my DE. The rest of my face I don't have this issue with. Thanks!
Mine grows down in the middle under my chin, then sideways toward the ears on both sides. Maybe try cross shaving on the first pass then opposite direction kinda like an X and see if that helps.
@ElegyForTheMasses The same happens to me. I was surprised to see (and hear) that in most men the hair on the neck grows downwards as mine goes upwards everywhere, except in a little area under my adam's apple where the hair grows in all directions. The problem is that for me shaving with the grain in the neck (that is, upwards) is a useless effort because I can't seem to get rid of almost any hair at all. I need to go downwards to get a decent shave, applying very very little pressure
did you shave about a half hour before you made this video? lol

So what's his take on the Merkur 34c safety razor compared to the new razors with five blades?
bxjam85 1 year ago
@bxjam85
well its like comparing a manual transmission to an automatic.
both do a fine job and will get you there, but one just takes a little more effort.

So, what's the conclusion?
I mean, you've shaved with all those razors, tradiional and disposable, which one has won this competition?
DrSequoia 1 year ago
@DrSequoia
This wasnt done as a competition just as a demonstration,
and for those wondering how other razors work and shave.

@wcspencer3
Yeah, I know.
But still you seem to have great experience in shaving with various tools, I just would like to hear your personal opinion of which one is in fact the best one for you and why.
Thanks.

@DrSequoia
For the cartridges: ProGlide - Very smooth and Fast
For Injectors: Schick Short Black Handle - Easy to use
For DE Safety Razors: Muhle r89 - Smooth easy to use close
For Adjustable DE Safety Razors: Gillette Short Black Handle
easy clean smooth and close.

@wcspencer3 So your opinion is that ProGlide is the best system.
