Playing with a dog is not abuse. Dachshunds are breed to be badger hunters. A doxie grabbing the leg of ones pants and growling is not abuse. It's 'dog play'. My three doxies play with each other the same way and attack my toes and pant legs and never a scratch. And when I say "Okay stop/play nice." Their 'aggressive' play stops. So all you abuse pointers. Unless you know the breed and their personalities, go worry about some good American child abuse...

I have a chiweenie and am learning how stubborn he is - but also how sensitive he is. I think you have done a few cute things with him in training - but far more not cute things- taunting him and teasing him and frustrating him- teaching aggression. I don't think it's funny - -maybe amusing for you -- but I think you are really confusing the dog and annoying him. What if he bites a stranger and you'd have to put him down? It would be a terrible tragedy.

We have a one year old chiweenie, Max, who behaves EXACTLY like Scrappy. A lot of noise but as loving and hilarious as can be. Its obviously you get as much joy out of him as we do Max!
