Why is that I(non-Christian) can understand what Brian is saying but so many others cannot? He's saying that so many denominations of Christianity are caught up with their rules that they forget what Christianity is supposed to be about. What is mostly saying is that instead of having a bunch of religions in the world, we should only follow what the bible says. Having a lot of religions is like saying there's a lot of ways to get to God, but Jesus said that HE is the only way. Also ghostclous18 make a good point too.
the bible is fairly new compared to other religions holy books. who's to say that IS the correct explanation? i am a strong antitheist, so i believe all religions are bullshit, and the fact that there are thousands of religions out there just proves that there is no way they all can be correct. it's like those 'The Ladders' commercials.

@Eelf2 Yeah, over all I mean religion CAN help you with your relationship with God... but the only issue is that all people usually see is the religious parts, and don't see the real deal behind it; no one I know who is a non-Christian understands what Christianty really is behind the religious parts, and whenever they question my faith they always lash out at things about the religious parts at me. like "Oh, so you hate gays?! You're a Christian right, you're supposed to hate them!"

What is mostly saying is that instead of having a bunch of religions in the world, we should only follow what the bible says. Having a lot of religions is like saying there's a lot of ways to get to God, but Jesus said that HE is the only way. Also ghostclous18 make a good point too.

the bible is fairly new compared to other religions holy books. who's to say that IS the correct explanation? i am a strong antitheist, so i believe all religions are bullshit, and the fact that there are thousands of religions out there just proves that there is no way they all can be correct. it's like those 'The Ladders' commercials.

What this song really means: Jesus lived and died so we wouldn't have to follow a bunch of laws--because we can't keep them all anyway! Only Jesus was perfectly obedient to his Father--God, who is perfect. Jesus lived and died this way so that even though we aren't perfect (and no one is! :D srsly.) WE still get set right with God, not because of anything we do or don't do for God, but because of what JESUS did for US! No one "religious" can pass judgement on anyone cause we ALL fail

@DarthRhaadoo Actually, the other the koran and the buddhist have stories BASED on bible stories. The Koran was made in 610 CE (Common Era) while the bible was COMPOSED (not made) in 14th BCE (Before Common Era).
Buddha was born in 563 BCE which was more than 1000 years later after the bible was composed.

@openyourgates and from a guy who was jealous he couldnt be God's son so he said that Jesus wasnt and said he was the last prophet of God. he wrote the whole thing himself, all glorifying himself from jealousy. i find that funny because the true prophets either did not write about themselve like muhammed has (may peace not be upon him) or they were written about in the third person such as Jesus was.

@RCACsurvivorman True dat. I was just reading about Muhammad, and apparently he was visited by the angle Gabriel. And everytime this angel visited him he had seizures. I would never trust that.
Also, Joseph Smith, the founder of the Mormon church, was visited by an "angel" called Moroni who told him that "all churches are false." Luke says that even if an angel from heaven brings you false gospel, it is cursed and you should dismiss it.

@openyourgates exactly and with Joseph Smith it just so happens that his book of mormon was copied down from only ONE source, a golden tablet somewhere near New York and then the angel took it away from him. so no original manuscripts at all for it. it gives a big sense of being false and from the devil in saying that "you will become a God when you die".

This song is saying that religions that men create keep us away from true religion and a real relationship with Christ. If religion is just something you do on Sunday's or is arbitrary man-made rules, then it is meaningless and keeps us from discovering what religion should be.

i do sometimes, but it's mostly with celebrities that claim to be Christian. they'll say "yeah we're Christian we love God" but none of their actions show it and no music they put out goes for God. and most popular Christian bands i've heard have lame lyrics, i'm glad that Head is a better lyricist than most. check out Bethlehem by Theocracy, they're pretty good too

If you try to bury yourself in the metal scene, trying to avoid being pointed out as a Christian, then you aren't writing your music for God.
