@isaiah213 If your road corvette sounded like that you wouldnt/couldnt drive it on the street for 3 reasons: 1)It wouldnt be legal 2)The cam would be so big you couldnt drive it in traffic 3) you couldnt take it anywhere cause everyone would hate you for being so so loud
At the time GT1 and GT3 cars were designed Z06 was the fasterst road going version, hence both BOTH C6.R and C6 Z06 GT3 are homologated as based on Z06. When Pratt&Miller designed the GT2 car ZR1 had already came out, also GT2 rules don't allow 7L engines. So they used ZR1 road car to homologate the C6.R ZR1 (GT2/GTE race car). I hope that's not too confusing.
@kowclubproductions I know. 5.5l is most likely to be a downsized LS7.R, but the ZR1 was used for homologation. So it's officially based on that motor, despite not having forced induction, AFAIK they even used the LS9 naming of the ZR1.
@APACHESTRATHE140 The C6 Z06 (C6 meaning 6th generation) is a road version of the C6.R GT1 car, complete with the 7L engine. When Corvette moved to GT3, they decided to use a Z06 as a base (which was based on the C6.R) and fit it to FIA GT3 rules. Does that make sense?

@ShizoluckyShizostar pratt&millers c6.r is a 5.5l naturaly asperated. so the motor didn't come from the zr1 but idk about anything else

@ShizoluckyShizostar There all essentially the same, hell the zr1 has the same crank shaft and a silverado 5.3 (obviously the zr1's is stronger).

That's a C6 GT1, I don't get why they would use a C6 for GT1 and a ZO6 for GT3. The ZO6 is faster than the C6 right? I just don't get it.

@APACHESTRATHE140 C6 is the generation of corvettes. The ZO6 is a C6... They use the ZR1 for GT1
