How did you auto focus with a half shutter button down?

I mean, when I do that to my T2i, there's this weird BRIGHT contrast of color comes up and then back to normal color... i don't like that.

@HatroVille think it is dependant on how bright the locction is you are shooting. it does what you say when i was shooting in an other store, it needs to fully open up the aperture and iso to see the contrast points to judge focus.

I hope you got the 60mm Macro - It's an awesome lens for Macro and portraits! I agree though, it should have Image stabilisation, although it might affect the quality a little - and I expect canon assume it will be used on a tripod most of the time! How come we haven't got shops like that in the UK???? Japan rocks for photography equipment!!
