  • Je trouve les paroles extrêmement belles

  • This is fantastic when i listen to a song i listen o themelody not he words and the fact that there are gbbersh seemingly tribal words puts the emphasis on the tune which is brilliantly crafted.

who is performing this verison do you know?

  • Big ol' J.Walker.

  • Johnnie Walker

  • Anyone get me this song without words?

  • try putting instrumental at the end

  • is this african language? i dont know. love this kind of music ;) adiemus ruuleezz

  • @MissSophieschen Then agian, maybe not. Dunno :p

  • It is no language, it is completely made up ;)

  • @Muizers Not true, I speak this language.

  • @meeshter24 Oh cool! Someone (a singer who attempted to sing this haha) told me so. Well then wth are they saying? haha

  • @meeshter24 They're saying muffins rock. Mhm *nods* true story hahah

  • Karl Jenkins actually made up this "language." He actually uses the voices together as an intstrument rather then setting actual words to the song. So theoretically this song is instrumental.

  • this isnt african ! it isnt any languagr! the componist had just put some letters togheter! =)

  • Hello, i love this music too, so great and in answer to your question, the languyage is gibberish, she made it up and got an african chior to sing iot, totally cool hey?

  • @rachelwilson5 Who is 'she'?

I'm fairly certain that the whole Adiemus project was composed by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins. :S

  • Me encanta la canción, pero la letra está poco elaborada (es broma )

  • My marching band played this in our show this year too! lol

  • our band played this, and it sounded so cool!

  • JOHNIE!!!!

  • I love the beginning! The vocal parts in the beginning are my favorite, but to each his own, right?

  • Johnnie Walker!

  • Keep Walking.

  • where can i find songs that songs that sound like the beginning 10 seconds or so .

  • you can start with E S Posthumus, Globus, Corner Stone Cues, and just about anything put out by X-ray Dogs and Immediate Music....

  • Thanks panda I'm liking all these, anymore suggestions?

  • hey my band is playing this too....in jacksonville florida lol...wow must be popular...

  • My marching band is playing this too. Glen A. Wilson High-School FTW

  • carry the sky to be precise 8B

  • lol, whoops, translated that all wrong.

In Caelum Fero means Upon the Savage Sky, or wild sky... something to that meaning. lol strike the chisel... funny shit :D

  • My favorite Jenkins/Adiemus song! I love the suspensions in the vocal part. I don't know why people are commenting that the vocal parts are terrible, 'cause they're fantastic.

  • In Caelum Fero means Strike the Chisel in English, it's a term meant to mean leave an everlasting imprint on something.

  • im in a marching band. and i love playing to this music. so awesome!

  • My marching band is performing this as well. What band you in? (Atlanta, GA)

  • oh im in central pa. so apparently we dont know eachother lol

  • my marching band is playing this too... (NJ). our trumpets are LOUD through this whole song, so it sounds epic. theres only two alto saxes and im one of them so I have to play SUPER LOUD!!!

  • johnnie walker

  • Karl made up all the words.. they don't mean anything. If it fits in with a real word in a language its by coincindence. For example adeimus just happened to be the latin word for come together but Karl didn't plan it that way

  • awesome

  • what means " in caelulm fero" in englisch O_o? pla answer ^^

  • were can i download this song?

  • Give me your email and I'll send it to you! Or, you can search for Adiemus' album called "songs of Sanctuary"... :)

  • Muito boa a musica, great!!!!

  • the singing is not terrible its meant to be rough because its beautiful and its meant to be sung by anyone and it is

  • i was doing this with a choir from belfast and i was right in front of the speakers and at the start the piano belted and i nearly fell off the bench!!this is my favourite song!1 xxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • One of my favorite Adiemus songs. Thanks for posting it here.

  • are you serious?? i LOVE the singing :D its pretty out there but i like it

    xx

  • SCOTCH ME!

  • They may sing gibberish, but it's good gibberish.

    I love Adiemus!

  • ma wi ka ya ma na ma wi ka ya ma

ma wi ka ya ma za me ya

ama kaya mana ama kaya mana

ama kaya mana a me ya

    ma wi kaya mana

    ka me ya kema ya

    ma wi kaya mana

    ka me ya

    [...]

i always wonder how one can memorize that gibberish without twisting the tongue! awesome stuff!

  • Brilliant!

  • They use their voices as an additional instrument. The memorization works by means of the melody.

  • It makes sense to the singer, maybe an Afrikan singer will tell the same to " I did it my way or let it be" :)

  • I'ts easy, you just have too memorise it , like any other song :)

  • @KoopaKonartist agreed. Some people think its crap because there is no meaning to what they sing, but i have to remind them that this is music, not poetry. Most music lyrics are conventions and subjects we've seen, but when its music the real meaning and the importance is in the notes and the sounds.

  • @Gawaine687 I wouldn't be suprised if the little spits thought the same about japanese pop, just plain crap.

Lyrics are a fraction of the work, and for me it's a very minuscule fraction. They could be singing plain nonsense about fish and chips mixed with melted goat's cheese. If that stuff's good at everything else, I'd fork over the dollar twenty-nine on iTunes to get it.

  • @KoopaKonartist If you ask me, a truly well-written piece of music shouldn't need lyrics to convey its message or emotion.

  • I did it ma we :D

  • Vielen lieben Dank für die Superbewertungen!!

  • @PattiSmith0 ? LOL

  • If YOU have the instrumental version,

you could send it as video-answer ;)

  • who has the instrumental version please??

  • Gretaaa!! song!!!!!!!!!

  • this is AWESOME

  • once the singing starts the WHOLE song is ruined

  • yeah i agree. i was really disappointed when i heard the adiemus version after hearing it transposed for brass.

  • Genius :]

  • any better recording? It is perfect but there are clicks here and there...

  • Sorry, this was an old cd, I have no better version :(

I hope, you can enjoy it although... ;)

  • why would you want an instrumental version?

  • maybe to play it on an instrument like I want to do too? ;-)

  • wouldnt sheet music be more helpful then than an instrumental version? ;)

  • any place to get an instrumental version?

  • Sorry, I don't have the instrumental version.

  • @PattiSmith0 whats the name of the instrumental version?
