  • Perhaps one of the best actors of all time

  • he should also get the Oscar -

  • Gandalf, Theoden and Yoda disliked this.

  • sorry i meant 27 not 22 of may

  • im a big fan of sir christopher and i hope that bbc or some other tv company in the uk will make a loooong documentary about sir christopher and his career he deserves it...

i mean ....sigh... when he is gone gulp...not before that. and they sould have a rerun of that program twice every year. one airing the 22 of may..(the day of his birth) and on on the day he....(passes away sigh)

  • @ante29se he wont die, im 20 and i think im going to die before him, i think he's immortal.

If he does, i bet even Google will change thier logo to honour him.

  • He's an inspiration! May he live many more healthy years.

  • 92 and still acting. My god! What a men!

  • @thomasleur He will celebrate his 90th birthday in May.

  • @thomasleur he is only 89

  • It seems at 6:18 that Kevin Spacey admire Christopher Lee

  • A great Brit actor. Love him.

  • Such an immense talent and

One of the GREATEST classical talents of our time.

    Bravo sir, and WELL DESERVED!

I'm just so happy he received this honor while he is

still with us. Cheers! = ]

  • He's certainly getting old and frail, but he's nearly 90 and mentally still doing well and able to walk. And he has led a very good, full, and productive life - featuring in one of the best trilogies of the modern era as a capstone, and looking to have some kind of role in the Hobbit as well.

We should all be so lucky.

  • I cried..

  • 5:28 xD

  • "Very sad to see how frail he is"

    he's old, bud

  • I love him today as I've always loved him. I love you Chris Lee!! :-)

  • Comment removed

  • Man, he was 82 when he played Count Dooku... this is insane... this guy inspire me to age well.

  • Mr Ross et al perhaps should bow or kneel before such a monument of our age.

  • @zaroffhound very well said, he IS a legend, something MR Ross can only dream of

  • count drookuwickerarumanwillywonka'sdad

  • Christopher lee is gonna be 90 Next Year DAANNG!!

  • i hope he reaches 200 movies he is at like 199 so plz make 200 :D for an award haha

  • guy at 2:41 looks a bit like val kilmer . . .

  • He may be old, but he's still good at what he does best!

  • Love and Respect one of the greatest actor in history, Christopher Lee.

Cheers to him from South Korea.

  • Amazing and moving is Chrisptopher Lee. So glad he received his award non-posthumous! I loved the Hammer Films. I grew up with them. They are still the best. A very versatile and respected actor One of the greats [as was his equal Pter Chushing] Such gentlemen. He, they, have my greatest repsect. Keep going but don;t overdo it Mr. Lee! and thank you! x

  • Whats the song at 5:06

  • @TheAbbzz "I don't Know" by Kassidy

  • Christopher Lee is 89 years old and he'll be 90 years old in 2012!!!!!!!!!! WOW HE'S GETTING REALLY OLD!!!!!!!!

  • Who is that woman @ 6:43?

  • Kevin Spacey @ 6:19

  • Its when he says Please at the end when they give him the standing ovation when his genuine humility and humble nature comes through which really makes it emotional

  • For a guy his age, you really have to respect him considering all the things he's done. I personally give him the title of being the iron man of acting. He's one of the few who's going to go out doing what he loves to do.

  • a god among peoples

  • Christopher Lee is awesome!

  • Grant me the power to be alive and kicking like Lee at 89..keep it up Sir Christopher your amazing.

  • 89, what a legend

  • Oh Sir Christopher how I adore thee.

  • Coolest man on earth.

  • i would hope that the other people in the audience would love and respect this man as a truly world class actor, i watched him growing up and scared the hell out of me in his vampire days

  • Vincent Price and Peter Cushing would be proud.

  • @joevach10 yes they would, well said, a great man indeed

  • I bet Emma was thinking "Why couldn't he have been Dumbledore after Harris?"

  • @scarabmango He would have been the perfect Dumbledore! With due respect to the excellent Michael Gambon. I can only imagine that he wasn't cast because he simply, by sheer force of charisma, would have wiped the younger actors off the screen.

  • @scarabmango you've seen lord of the rings? as a wizard, he's scary! haha :P

  • @scarabmango ummm hello! he's the badguy!

  • @scarabmango

Nahh, hes too typecast as a baddn to be dumbledore methinks

  • @xaxie1 He could have done the job masterfully. And unlike that idiot Michael Gambon, he would have been the right height, build, and of course voice. All his typecasting would be overturned in a second.

  • When this legend finally leaves a world that will never see his like again, I anticipate weeping, and I do not cry easily. There is something truly magnificent about this man, and I fear many lovers of film and theatre won't know what they've lost until it's too late.

  • the 3 dislikes are Sauron, Grima and Gandalf.. lol

  • 1:39 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    Oh Macca.....

  • damn i really hope he doesnt die during the filming of the hobbit... seriously though just an amazing talented man. i hope it goes without saying i hope he doesnt die anytime soon.

  • Long Live Lord Christopher Frank Carandini Lee, my Idol.

  • What does he mean by 'this is the finest image'? What image where?

  • @LootableCorpse - he's talking about his own image as an actor, it was almost destroyed after too many dracula horror films, let's just say they weren't the best work of art in hollywood..

  • @DemiathDoomhammer thanks for elaborating

  • Please Can Anyone Of You Tell Me What Movie Is Sir Christopher Lee In.. 4:41???? Thanks

  • And he totally deserves that pimp cane he's rockin

  • Each of the three dislikers will burn in Hell for all eternity for their most disgusting and heinous crime.

  • To anyone interested in knowing, he's 89 since the 27th of May

  • A true gentle man.

  • Christopher Lee was awesome when he voiced Ansem the Wise from Kingdom Hearts 2

  • A true great who is still so humble, love from Wales.

  • he's just so old, I can't believe it!

  • @Ixdontxknowxanything He was going through a terrible deasese at the time of this award but has beaten it. From what I'm told he's in much better shape now dispite his age.

  • Is it wrong for me to say that.......I want to kiss his feet !!!!!

  • That's the great Sir Christopher Lee my favourite actor from horror films.

  • I, most likely, won't even be alive at 88.

Let alone achieve one millionth out of what Sir Lee has achieved.

I don't cry easily. But rest assured, I stiffled many tears while watching this.

Humbled by what Sir Christopher Lee has achieved.

    Humbled by his dignity.

Saddened by the fact that age, that inevitable nemesis of us all, has finally caught up with him after 88 years.

  • give him something so he will stop aging, its sad to see

  • ALL HAIL SIR CHRIS!

  • @sher93101 Well, he was SIR, LORD, Count and so on...Well before the CBE..... ^^

  • christoher lee has an amazing voice

  • This legend of the cinema said once that the caracther that he would really like to play was Don Quixote. If Orson Welles would be alive, would make it real, because who could be a better actor that the one that has played roles like Dracula, Saruman, Count Duku and so many unforgettable carachters on screen.

  • He looks a lot better now, watch this: youtube.com/watch?v=R5UVIyUqa60

AFAIK he had some health problems early this year, but he finally got over it. And plus he filmed all his Saruman scenes already, so he definitely is going to be in the Hobbit :D

  • @aganim90 Your link doesnt work :(

  • please dont die before the filming of the hobbits 1 and 2 is finished plz plz lol

  • @Synergy157 He's acting for the hobbit? As which character?

  • @Synergy157 Nvm, Saruman of course :D

  • wow, i'm pleasantly surprised to see that Paul McCartney attended!

  • About time Christopher Lee gets something like this!

  • Did anybody else want to cry at the end?

  • only shit, he isnt looking too good these days. He ages a lot in 6 years

  • what a sweet man...and great actor

  • Great actor! Why does he look so frail :( Hope you live on for many years, sir!

  • How the hell is he going to pull off playing Saruman? It would be incredibly sad if he died during the filming.

  • Wow, it's sad to see how frail he is. And he's going to be playing Saruman in The Hobbit? When he's this frail? Wow. Hope he can do it.

  • Christopher Lee.

    Patrick Stewart.

    Ian Mckellen.

    Morgan Freeman.

    Their voices are so... AMAZING.

  • @FleishDawg u forgot alan rickman :)

  • My hero.

  • Woaw. Tim Burton is so nervous. I guess becoming a world famous director doesn't even help conquer stage fright.

  • Sir Christopher Lee is indeed a fine actor who gives brilliant performances in every film and project he does. I truly respect this man who in my eyes is one of the best actors to ever grace our screens.

  • Just watched a video of him three years ago and compared to this, he has changed A LOT. I know he will be included in the Hobbit (not sure how extensively yet) and I want him to be. I just wonder how they will deal with his declining health.

  • what a great man and actor, he scared me mant times in his vampire days, no dracula like him, im afraid there all going 1 by 1, the guys like Richard Burton, Richard Harris, Burt Lancaster, Oliver Reed, Errol Flynn, Peter o'toole is still here but i wonder for how long, THESE PEOPLE ARE STARS NOT JUST ACTORS, i dont think they will ever be replaced

  • Christopher Lee is most awesome as Count Dooku

  • Great Sir Christopher Lee !! He is an amazing actor

  • He hasn't got many years left, hope he lives to see the hobbit before he passes.

  • @Hermoor Screenwriter Frederica Sagor Maas just turned 111 yesterday, so it IS possible. Besides, Sir Christopher Lee looks amazing for 89. He is not just going to see The Hobbit, he's going to be in it (confirmed) and some other films too. Don't scrap him out just yet:)

  • This man deserves applause not only from this audience but from the whole world!

  • 8:28 on left lol hermiona grenger

  • Christopher Lee is denfently a bad ass..... hope for him and his fans like im a one of him that he will be stay healthy another 89 years , he is from a diffrent wood made as today actors

  • I can't wait to see him in 'The Hobbit'

  • 89 years old and still going. This guy is a amazing. However I do agree, he looks like hes getting tired.

  • Happy Birthday, Sir Christopher - 89 today! (27 May) :)

  • Interesting how we see closeups of two Bond girls in the audience... Rosamund Pike from Die Another Day (2002), and Eva Green from Casino Royale (2006)

  • He is amazing! It is cool that he will reprise Saruman in The Hobbit, but he has aged drastically in the last few years.

  • @paulod27

I Agree. It was only just over 5 years ago that he was moving so fast in star wars. His speech has also hampered too. Oh well it was bound to happen. Still an incredible man though

  • Next an Honorary Oscar

  • eva green looks very pretty

  • emma watson looks like she doesn't know who he is...how rude

  • It makes me sad to see him like this

  • Who in the world would dislike this? Seriously? Its not even a subjective thing, its a great actor being applauded by the top tiers of showbiz. What a voice.

  • LEEgend

  • Truly he is a legend. May we all live so long that we cannot carry our awards.

  • The Star Wars prequels were good. And Christopher Lee made them even greater.

  • one word "LEGEND"

  • a true legend and there is nobody out there who can play dracula like him. god bless sir christopher lee.

  • I cried when I first saw this (don't know why...), but IMO, he's the thrid greatest Dracula to ever grace the silver screen, he's one of the greatest actors that always has such a presense, even in a cameo...he's voice is recognizable to almost everyone, and though my generation knows him from Star Wars and LOTR series, I know him from the hammer films, and his work with Peter Cushing; it's about time that he got the recognition that deserves, and I congradulate him!

  • 3 People don`t know a great Actor when they see him.

  • Saruman!

  • I know he's 88 but he's looking frail these days compared to 2 or 3 yrs ago. Peter and Vincent have put the kettle on!

  • Christopher Lee is so great, he is better than Cary Grant was, better than Harrison Ford is, better than James Mason was, better than Robert Redford is, better than David Niven was, better than Peter Sellers was, better than Richard Burton was, better than Kevin Costner is, He beats many.

  • legend.

  • LEGEND

  • 3 people dislike acting................

    Sir Christopher Lee, acting legend!

  • hope he live enought to participate on the hobbit and whatch its premiere.. such a legendary actor should have one last epic movie to be remembered, and he really wants to say good bye to the professional world in the LOTR prequel. Best of wishes to the legend, nobody deserves this fellowship more than sir christopher lee

  • Truly a class act.

  • Truly a class act.

  • sir chris: living legend.

  • awesome compilation!

  • You're the best lee ! hopefully go on living many more years

Gracias.

  • One of the GREATEST actors of all time!!! Bravo, Sir Chris, BRAVO!!!

  • a bit harsh thinking about it but id love to attend his funeral and pay my respects

  • It is sad to see him so frail.

  • Does anyone know the track playing in the montage of his work?

  • Count Dooku

  • Best actor ever

  • christ he does look frail. its brought tears to my eyes. he was struggling to lift the statue by the look of it too. :*(

  • christ he does look frail. its brought tears to my eyes.

  • Sir Christopher Lee is my favorite actor of the World War 2 generation. He may have played some of the darkest villains, but his real life was never that way. Old fashioned actor, but I like him that way.

  • This guy made the prequels watchable. For that he deserves a life peerage.

  • @tyruk ian mcdiarmid was amazing in the last prequel; unfortunately Christopher Lee wasn't in that one long. He was fantastic in The Lord of The Rings and Star Wars. I think it is amazing how he keeps on going! Look we all die! This man has already surpassed the longevity of most people and at 88 it's amazing that he still does what he does. It's wonderful that he has been knighted and has a fellowship bafta and the timing was right for both, because at his age he will appreciate them even more!

  • he deserves nothing less, hes by far the greatest actor that ever lived.

  • I hope he lives trough The Hobbit.

  • He has aged quite a bit. Still, he still has more charisma than I could ever hope to.

  • Legend.

  • Long may you live!! You`re the greatest!

  • Yes, he was very emotional at the end of that speech, Good Luck and Good Health to him.

  • We are doing a stop motion animation film called Tim. The movie is a stop motion animation film that is dedicated to Tim Burton and has Sir Christopher Lee as the narrator. Search the directors name Brian Joseph Ochab to find the video.

  • @MrBoBoTom I am unsure weather that comment is saying "I hate you you old man" or "Dont die gramps, you need to stay alive for the Hobbit and beond" Either way, Long live Christopher Lee

  • One of the reasons Sir Christopher is still working at 88, is that he is irreplaceable.

I am so pleased that he now has a knighthood and a Bafta Fellowship, but he should have received both of these things many years ago.

  • @neohip and for that, he should at least have an AFI lifetime achievement award too.

  • i pray he lives many many more years and us more great performances.... i also hope that the academy awards will also learn how to appreciate real talents!!!! he is a brilliant man, handsome even in his 88, charming and talented!!! i wish him health happiness!!! i wish him the best (anyway he deserves that!!)

  • he deserves this!

    wat a great actor.

but this hurt me because I don't think he's got long left, he doesn't look well. :(

  • @RossLeyshon yeah i agree he has slowed down its been about 7 years since the revenge of the sith and what a difference.

  • @RossLeyshon I agree, he's a very old man. I hope he lives long enough to get his oscar now ;-)

  • Thought this speach was quite touching! Cant wait for The Hobbit !

  • Deserved Truly Deserved

  • what is the song playing when the range of clips, acted in by sir christopher lee i.e. dracula, lord of the rings etc. loveee it:)

he is such a great actor and deserves to be recognised. He is an inspiration and icon to all

  • @InMyLittleBox it's The Black Amnesias, by Hope of the States

  • To be serious though he has so much respect from everyone. He speaks slowly and people just cant wait to hear what he has to say. Noone dared talking between themselfs in fear of loosing one word. This man should be an Icon from many,

  • Oh my god its Saruman! To your battle stations!

  • Magnifique. Christopher Lee est un acteur formidable.

  • Best part of the event.

  • Christopher Lee is an amazing actor! Such a strong voice!
