This phone freezes all the time unless you restart it every 5 or 6 hours. I blame the rim software, but the phone itself is also sub par. No more BB for me. I dare to say that RIM will be obsolete in 5 years.

@thizzkid59 i have this phone, and yes, it does have a video camera feature. and the best part is that you can enable the led to stay on when you're just about to record (preview screen). the led shuts off when you're screen dims so make sure to remove/reduce the auto-dim feature in display settings prior to using you're phone as a decent flashlight.

when the power went out yesterday, it helped me get to where i needed to go.

Verizon frequently has them on some kind of special offer bundle. "Get one smart phone, and the second is 1/2 off" (sometimes free) and (rarely) I've even seen a "buy one get 2 free" on some holidays.

The blackberry storm 2 is a great device. Although, sadly, 90% of the users are complete morons, and got the phone as their first touchscreen phone, some even got it as their first smartphone ever.

Whatever you do, do not get the first gen storm

It's either storm2 or torch.

I have the Blackberry Storm. It's awesome when it works. But, it's defective. Make sure yours isn't. Now I have to send mine back to get a brand new one. I rate it four stars. It can do everything the iPhone 3G can do plus more. You may have to update it though.

.the blackbrry storm is very slow;when yhou turn the phone off it takes about 5 minutes to rebute up;so if you just got one i recommend not turning it off just lock it and put it on silent;the iphone is much faster tho;

I have the iPhone 3G, too. Although, I am canceling the service today. AT&T is screwing me over. Been with em for 3 months and so far they've raised my bill, lowered my bill, and raised it again. It went from 50 bucks to 200 dollars in just 3 months. I have unlimited data and everything, its just annoying. The iPhone is just a bit too expensive for me. If I could jailbreak it, could I go onto Verizon with it?

you just have to unlock it, and to unlock it, you have to jailbreak it first. Its really easy, if you need help reply to me, or watch a youtube video on how to unlock an iphone 3g, but make sure you are on firmware(version) 2.2 or 2.2.1

this is actually a great looking phone. i had a blackberry curve and it was a great phone, then i switched to the iphone and it's the best phone i've ever had, but this new blackberry storm shows alot of promising things. It is actually alot better looking than the instinct, the dare, and specially the G1. If the iphone didn't exist, this would be the way i would go.

BTW, I know I may sound n00b but, I have never owned a berry so, can I configure it to push my Gmail messages too or does it only work with corporate accounts where I have to configure my domain's DNS settings for it to handle my mail? i had an iphone and traded it for the better storm. new updates will be out soon to fix any bugs. it has bluetooth, longer battery life, removeable replacement battery, can get a 16G memory card giving it 17G memory total, better resolution screen, works faster, better speaker quality, works around the globe, video camera, 3.2 MP pictures, flash, faster 3G verison network, app store in the making, copy/paste, picture messaging, i heard it will have wifi soon, the list goes on. sry apple :(

Actually they do. The T-Mobile G1 has 3.2 megapixels, as well as the awful HTC touch diamond. Plus, at 2.0 megapixels, the iPhone actually does come close!

Adobe has unveiled a brand new version of flash aimed directly at smartphones. The new version of Flash is optimized to work with ARM processors. So long as your smartphone has a processor clock speed of at least 200MHz and 16MB of RAM, it should be able to run the new Flash. Its also mentioned that a completely capable browser is required, but given the phones that its meant for, there shouldnt be any issues.

Yes, the way it works is quite nice. The top two rows of the main menu become the two rows of buttons on the standby screen, so you can pick any 8 you like to show there.

Yes, the entire screen moves as a whole and clicks - for real. It floats on a set of 3 (I think) pivot points. Very clever. I believe RIM calls it SureTouch.
