well i think the e savage is your best bet with the alluminm chassis braces and if you look up the savage you can see some durability test, its the same chassis

They are two very different cars. The rustler is two wheel drive and sits low two the ground. The e-savage is four wheel drive and has two moters and takes two battery packs. It just depends on what you are wanting to do with the car.

durability is ok, but ur gonna need:

alloy c hubs all round

lots of spare tie rod ends

alloy shock towers

spare drive shafts(center ones too) or u can get kershaw designs cvds.

if ur just gonna run it in ur garden then shock towers arent necessary but ull still need those. i went full alloy recently and it so much better. more taught in corners, not too heavy, looks fantastic too!

if ure not going to modify it, get an e-maxx. its slightly faster and its bigger. the e-savage handles better though

on some good 6 cell batts, an e-savage is faster than an e-maxx 3905

Thanks for the constructive criticism, but since that was my first RC and only the third time I had driven the truck it was to be expected. Five trucks later and a custom self built all aluminum E-Maxx and Rustler, I am much improved.

I no longer have the e savage, it was a great truck but there wasn't enough hop ups for it, so i switched to an E-maxx that I built custom all aluminum.

I have a Tamiya Double Blaze with these motors, deans connections and i'm running 16.8volts through them (2 x 7 cell 4600mah packs)

Soon changing to lipo batterys for more power. If you can imagine your set up with about 20% more power going into the motors and in a much lighter vehicle...that's what i have. Fast, but handles like shit

I recommend changing the connections between the speed control and motors and also between the speed control and the battery packs.

Change them to deans connections. You can get them from ebay. Search for videos on youtube for tips on installing them. They will make a modest difference and cost next to nothing. Top speed will improve slightly and acceleration a fair bit. They are less resistive and decrease voltage dropping. You will notice the difference.

They are RPM offset Wheels with HPI Tires. Can't remember what the tires are called. I think they are GT's, It is not brushless. Just stock 550 motors and 4200 Batts

dont get twin motors, it doesn't increase spead, just costs more, you will need to get 2 esc also. the motors will be constantly battling over which produces more power, will wear them down more. to improve the truck just adjust the gearing.

lol mate, try use brake and accelerate to level out mid-air, i took my hpi savage X up a 6 foot vert at the skate park, got 2 foot of the top of the ramp and landed flat on the floor and didnt brake anything!

Nice one bud =) how does it differ from its stock batts? I have a modified engine and could feel its promptness, but still in stock batts. my esavage driveshafts easily break as well, especially when I had a top speed and wheelie test the other day
