  • this is cool, the dartmouth aires sang all you need is love and theirs was better

  • I met one of the girls. she goes to my church

  • They are sooooooooooooo good..

  • My only complaint is that they don't blend...otherwise it was a pretty good performance.

  • I want to meet Candace in person. She's so fine.

  • they are no doubt talented individuals but i just dont like their versions of these songs.. didnt feel like beatle songs anymore..

  • Murdered it

  • doesnt anyone on youtube has their sing-off video for man in the mirror?

  • i think it would be better if they added the "she loves you" bit

  • I want to meet Candace. How can I do so?

  • @fullguth they have to change things to avoid copy right.

  • toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sllooooooooooooooooooooow bt oh darling was great

  • @HzWings Humility was one of Jesus' greatest lessons. You'd do well to study that aspect of our Lord's life here on Earth. Utilize the blueprint God has given you, so that you do not let the politics of religion keep you from a closer walk with him.

  • @HzWings The saddest part of where Christianity is today is not the backslider or the sinner, it's the "saint" who refuses to create refuge for that lost soul in the form of love, understanding and compassion. I will pray for you, like I do with all things and people I do not agree with, as my bible has taught me to do.

  • @HzWings God doesn't teach us to be dogmatic. He doesn't teach us to judge others before ourselves either. All have fallen short, including you. And the wages of sin is death. All sin is equal in the eyes of the Lord and when we repent and ask our God to forgive us our transgressions, that is when we're closest to him.

  • I love this! The Beatles would be very proud. By the way, The Beatles promoted love and isn't that what God is about?? Why not accept the music for what it is and the music is great!!

  • papperback writer for me was too slow at least beezlebuds changed their pace

  • Come on lee singers... I play my guitar and keyboard around home sometimes and mock Beatles,Elvis ,and secular singers songs, but to get on national TV or public and do that when God has given me the gift of music to promote his Son Jesus Christ, absolutely not!! Don't let your good be evil spoken of.

  • This is EXACTLY WHY I LEFT THE CHURCH OF GOD!

  • I wonder what their God thought of them singing a song by the beatles who claimed to be more popular than Jesus ? Makes me wonder !!!

  • @brojoe758

This group in from a college who claim they teach the WORD of God! Do they ever teach them that "Whosoever loves the world, the love of the Father is not in them?." If this isn't worldly, what is? It is suppose to be a Pentecostal college and it is sickening to think young people who desires to know about the things of God are being taught this?It would never have been allowed or even thought of years ago when their leaders were Cristians.

  • @HzWings Do you honestly believe these students learned a Beatles song at Lee University ? There are children that under the age of 10 that learned this. Your comment, "...it is sickening to think your people ..... are being taught this" I assure you, this song was not learned at Lee. By merely being IN the world, this song is known by most -- unless they live under a rock. And of course, if that is the case, then they are not very useful the building the kingdom anyway...now are they ?

  • @HzWings

I personally removed the previous comment as I had something in mind that superceeded the comment. Do you suppose these guys and gals are hoping for a chance to appear in the Entertaiment World in Las Vegas? We need Holy Ghost filled young men and women to witness to a lost generation by being holy and looking that way. What a reproach this is against Lee University which is suppose to be a Church of God claiming holiness of heart = Sanctification. So sad!!

  • @cmsturgeon

I am sure these students learned Beatles songs way before they went to Lee. Promoting Beatles songs theatrically in front of the world certainly doesn't promote God. Am I wrong?

  • @cmsturgeon I go to the Church of God, and it makes me sick to see how near to the world they live. In fact, many Pentecostals have joined in the Great Falling Away the Bible speaks of in the last days. There are still a few COG's that refuses to join in with Babylon .. I have read recently how far the leadership in Cleveland Tnn. has left off the holiness doctrine and God is displeased. I agree that the students are not useful in building the kingdom of God in this way.

  • @cmsturgeon

I read your profile and I can tell what is being promoted as a Christian education at Lee University leaves a lot to be desired if this is an example of what is being taught. No wonder the Spirit of the Holy Ghost is not present in the COG churches as it should be. The saddest part is that our young people are being taught the ways of the world which Jesus commanded to not love. Why the apostacy? Whose kingdom are you building? Satan's!! Judgement begins at the house of God.

  • @HzWings

. Students who go to Lee should not be in worldly competition of songs they have learned from whatever source. They evidently have a music director who should have had an infilling of the Spirit of God to guide these students away from the things pertaining to the entertainment world. Lee U used to be known as an outstanding college for students who wanted a Christian education. It's gone the way of the world and God is not in it. A sad commentary against Lee University.

  • @HzWings no offense but have you gone to lee? If you haven't attended the university and experienced it for yourself how do you know what is or is not there?

  • @childrenandart

My friend, I don't need to go to Lee University to know what is going on. I have friends whose children have attended and have graduated plus Pastors I have heard preach. The COG has fallen so far from their first LOVE, and God will be the One who they will answer to. Not only are the original Churches of God denomination fallen as a rule, most holiness churches are falling by the wayside. They are embracing some things God is not pleased with and it is so sad.

  • @HzWings well let's be honest if you're comparing the COG as fallen what is your standard? because lee is an extremely strict and fundamentalist school

  • i agree, i'm a student at lee. and there isn't a place like it. one of the best universitys in america..period. lee is a great place to go to school, what is better than getting closer to God and being around THOUSANDS of gorgeous girls. it's a top class school.

  • @volfan989

Ha ha -- you say you go to one of the best "university's" in America.

It's "universities", dopey! Hope you aren't an English student!!!

  • @HzWings they actually sang a song about John 3:16 today at my school Baylor Highschool along with man in the mirror, and a medley of folk songs

  • I think they butchered my favorite group's music, but I don't like their style in general. Too much riffing.

  • NO justice was done.

  • Could you upload man in the mirror?????

  • Damn....as in, hot damn! :)

  • oh darlin was amazing

  • OMG 0:39 is one of the craziest transitions i have eva heard!!...They are great!..i wish they won

  • Oh and that girls name is candace, and she is gorgeous! Stop running your mouth.

  • Um, you have no clue what you are talking about. Unless you have ever listened to lee beyond this competiton you have no clue what they are about. They didn't even get to sing what they usually do!!! They are pretty much all gospel music singers. You don't know what you are talking about so learn your facts, thanks(:

  • youreyes16-- the guy on the left is not an actor. he was in the group. voices of lee. my brother now goes to lee and is in there group. yeah danny the director just picked some out of the group to go. but yeah he isnt famous. his name is mark i think im not really sure though. he wasnt in the group when my brother was. so i dont really know him like i do some up there.

  • at 2:09...who the hell is the guy on the left?!

he looks SO familiar. is he also an actor?

  • Their version of Oh! Darling has a lot of influence from the Across the Universe movie version.

    Love this. :)

  • i know all of these people... theyre amazing, go cleaveland!

  • Candace's "Oh Darling" performance is my absolute favorite here. She just makes it so soulful and heart-felt. Completely captures the essence of this song. They are all amazing, though! Love Voices of Lee!

  • Wow they did amazing. I am Caleb Shaw's little sister. They should have won and everyone knows it.

  • I'm sure you are

  • Umm @fullguth I think u r nitpicking I have the beatles rock band and I was doing paperback writer and after the lead (Im not sure if it's paul or Jon) said paperback writer one of them echos paperback writer and the two others go writer writer and It doesn't really matter they still did a good job

  • Alright Guys!!! Chattanooga ,Tn brought it!

  • They are from Cleveland

  • Oh, I had no idea. Alright. Bradley County then!!! LOL

  • Awesome as always, thanks Dr. Sturgeon for getting this back up!

  • @jreeves01 As always Jessica, you are welcome :-)

  • This group is getting better as the competition wears on. I was only mildly impressed the first night, but on the second night they put out a big, round choral sound which worked with their selections. They kept it going on the third night with this medley which I think is extremely astutely selected for a capella harmonies.

  • They did an Awesome job.....That ending is truly epic.... a pure Voices Of Lee ending....Im so proud of them

  • What, "Dear sir or madam" instead of "Please sir or madam"? You are nitpicking.

  • @fullguth I decided to read the lyrics word for word as they sang - one word "will" was replaced with "could" - one single word !! I agree, you are nitpicking. Take the song in as a whole instead of seeking to find mistakes. One can find mistakes with every group and every song if that is all you look for - omitting the enjoyment of hearing them perform.

  • After the initial "paperback writer" The harmony part here goes "Writer, writer" Instead of repeating "paperback writer" Perhaps I am nitpicking, but because the Beatles are my favorite group and legends, it's hard not to imo.

  • actually they do it perfectly... if you listen they do repeat paperback writer, just how the Beatles do it

  • yes you are nitpicking. they didn't repeat it any more than what was on the record

  • @fullguth You obviously do not understand the concept of music is you are upset by one insignificant wrong lyric. You are a bombastic imbecile. Lets see you sing it... and butcher the hell out of it.

  • agreed.

  • @SwingKid148 Well, like the judges said, the intent was NOT to imitate the Superstars, it was to take their songs it make them their own.

That they did, and the did it well. Obviously they did it well as they are in the finals.

  • Voices were amazing - and Candice on the second song (Oh! Darling) - wow! Voices of Lee are the best.
