@fureijigo what you mean still up for 2012 i thought it wasn't fuck golf and rugby although i think every sport deserves a spot but squash deserves it more! all the olympics is about now is money only pick sports with alot of money in it!!!!!!!!!
any sport that wishes to be included should get a vote and if they have a majority they are in that simple no bullshit like twothirds majority or limited openings
They should have used your clips for the promotional video, better chances of qualification. As a squasher, it is hard not to love this sport. To us, 50+ rallies is amusing. However, to untrained eyes, it may be , sadly, boredom : (
@dEStr0 too true. it is sad to see. however this goes for many sports. soccer, basketball, golf, tennis, really any sport except for the extreme ones can be hard to appreciate if you dont really understand whats going on. i used to hate watching tennis but now i cant get enough of it now that i play it occasionally.
Thanx Sikander, that's high praise indeed, glad that u r enjoing urself in that club and each and everyone on that squash ladder is an exceptional person in his own right. I have great memories of that place and will (God willing) visit it someday. Please be kind enough to convey my regards to each and everyone there. Thanx once again for the kind words and for taking the time out to write in, be well n take care, Cheers!
How' this coming from an ex badminton player like myself, I love squash, its a perfect sport, olympics or not with some of the points going for 50+ rallies just like one of those John White Vs any good player match. This background music is Russian?
great videos; i felt so motivated by this one in particular. i know alot of my friends, family and coaches have been excited to finally have the squash community recognized by the olympics and hence, the rest of the world. but to hear that we go declined is so tragic especially to see other activites ("sports") that did get accepted that i do not feel deserve to be in the olympics. its a shame but all we can do is keep doing our thing and hopefully squash expands. its up to the juniors now!
Hey Zeyshaan, great video, it looks so EPIC... I think that the only problem with squash is that it is not very popular in the world. As you have said, it does not have enough media coverage and exposure in the world of sport...
thanx for the wonderful feedback, sincerely appreciate it and I'd like to think that I am helping solve 'THAT' problem in my own little way through these videos... cheers
I think that the IOC needs to get their Thumbs out of their A***S and realize that Squash is one of THE most demanding sports on the planet and how the hell can they have Pistol shooting and syncronized swimming as a sport and not squash.ALL the other racket sport are in there so why not Squash?Having it as an Olympic sports boots funding and makes it a better World Wide Sport so why the F**K wont they let it in?
Hi Zeyshan, Great video. IOC has always been lost when it comes to Squash. Same in the 80's as 90's as 200x. Squash is -not- an easy sport. It requires a lot out of a good player. The first requirement is extreme fitness. US specially would benefit a lot from kids playing Squash. Since I have moved to the US in 1989, I have seen a marked increase in obesity not only in adults but the kids. Squash could be a great plus in that regard
didn't get enough HD clips from squashlive for the women and I didn't want to add some blurry videos for ladies and the men being all HD, now that would've been a real disbalance and would've definitely been disrespectful to our wonderful female athletes as well... I promise if I gather enough HD clips for women then I will make a video featuring them alone as well, has always been one of my goals, certainly wasn't looking to be nonappreciative towards their talents, hope this clears my point..
I know that you didn't want to disrespect girls, but I must react on this kind of things, because we train as hard as boys so we must be on same page! Because we,men and women, fight for same goal- OLYMPICS !
I respect ur stand wholeheartedly, I even gave ur comment a thumbs up because it was indeed a very valid point, but like I said, I would've liked nothing better than to have had equal access to HD clips for both genders, unfortunately I didn't get that and I really wanted to put out a response to the rejection quickly so I compiled this all in one day as u can notice from the date of this video. I have nothing but the greatest respect & admiration for our female players and will always do...
Hmm, all the ideas I've been coming across in the last few days makes me think that it's incredibly important for squash to gain popularity in the states. But considering all the urbanlife squash programs and incredible university squash teams it seems the grassroots programs are already thriving. TOC and Virginia Open are great tournaments too, maybe they just need a couple top twenty players and squash will finally get the widespread media coverage it deserves...
zeyshaan! couldn't agree with you more on everything you have said and done. We have the same goal in mind and I hope more people around Squash join you in trying to make it a bigger and better sport! Great videos as well! I hope people start to use your talents to promote squash. If not, I will have to look at doing something myself! Good luck with your next work of art
Nice compilation and perfect sentiment. The Olympics is the most corrupt of all sporting events, and squash's association with the Olympics would only drag it down. Now Squash can focus on itself - the great sport that it is.
One thing the squash community can gain from this devastating rejection is the reality of the IOC's criteria for its decisions. The selection of golf over squash indicates that the IOC is NOT concerned with the universality, accessibility, and athletic difficulty of a sport, but rather popular appeal and advertising revenue. Squash desperately needs to raise its profile and popularity (i.e. more money and better marketing). Side note: props to Jules for being featured up in the video. Go USA!
Consider Jules a friend and wanted to represent USA in there as well since SQUASH is growing so quickly in the US as well... so it was a concious effort to get him in there... Cheers
Sorry for the language, but fuck the IOC and fuck the Olympics. The ancient Greeks would be ashamed that it has turned into an event that is more about ratings, sponsorship and money rather than physical and mental strength. I agree with you that the strong campaign squash has made over the past 4 years has helped grow the sport immensely, and we must continue to do so. I would rather squash communities uphold integrity, respect and honor rather than sell out to the greedy needs of the IOC.
Never cared for the Olympics to be honest with you, like I was telling a friend that I watch Federer playing Wimbledon, but I don't even know when or if he was/is competing for an Olympic medal, why so? 'Cuz Wimbledon is a much bigger and more hyped event, given the right marketing they get huge audiences and this is exactly what we need for SQUASH, TV channel screening of major finals ATLEAST, forget the Olympics, we need to make our tour better so all players can make a decent living out of it
funny how ping-pong is in the olympics and squash (american or regular) isn't even included. what a shame.

Hi Zeyshaan, would you like to add your great videos under your profile online at squashZAG?? or shall I add them?
SquashZAG 2 years ago
This is how we can do it :
1) Take the game to the lower steps pf the financial ladder of the society.
2) More junior development programs.
3) More money input and media coverage.
4. Most importantly, more people like Zeeshan, I so proud of him being the alumni of my university and also a member of the club where I play.
Z your name is still on the ladder and we talk about you almost everyday.
Thanks,
Sikander

another great vid, wow i had now idea that the IOC is putting golf before squash for the next spot in the olympics, thats very dissapointing.
Anyway im sure squash will continue to grow in popularity with or without the help of the olympics.
