  • Sexy? no.. but extremely adorable :3

  • it doesnt look like Red One

  • any chance of a tutorial? :P

  • @thegreenchronicboy Your a gross pig. Burn in hell.

  • @xxbluejay21 OMG I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING. WHAT A HOT AND SEXY LITTLE GIRL=p

  • what camera was this shot on?

  • is there some way to oposite, i have old video from VHS kamera, how to make that picture relativly good.

  • @klaywert Not really unless you have the original tapes that you can take to a pro to get them transfered to a HD format. Your image is ultimately only gonna be as good quality as with what you started with.

  • it looks better in ther first one 0_0

  • hey tom i have adobe premiere elements 10 , can u tell me how to get the " FILM LOOK " ?

  • @fonkartist In photoshop create a number colour gradients that vary in shape make around 20 different one. Save them as .PSD files, open them in Premiere and make them a frame long, and chance the transfer mode to screen. Increase the contrast of the original footage, give the shadows a blueish tint, and the highlights a yellow. Also try and get hold of Artbeats Film Clutter, and add a few of their stock film files (vary the transfer mode from Screen to Softlight to Multiply). Have fun!

  • song? amaxm

  • this may seem weird, but do mind sharing what your render settings were for this in After Effects? Thanks!!

  • @DDesignzz Well this was created last year, and i think because i was working compressed footage I exported it as a H.264 at around 3000 kbits/sec. HOWEVER, I would now strongly advise you to render it as a ProRes 422Lt - and obviously keep the footage at the natural size and frame rate. Hope that helps!

  • I have a question: what is that effect that i can see in a lot of videos which starts from 0:13-0:17 ? How to achieve that? Thanks!

  • @czaezaar Hi, this is effect is a mixture of stock flashes and film leaks as well as a simple color gradient. I also added some blank white for a frame or two. Use a mixture of blending modes such as Overlay, Screen and Add. Hope this helps.

  • @tomaplaw Yes, now I'm getting closer to the hang of it. Thanks!!

  • How does one make it look like Non damaged 16mm?

  • Excellent! Only thing I would reccomend is to turn down the frame rate, somewhere below 24fps. That would complete it.

  • @EVERYONE ARGUING ABOUT IF ITS SHOT ON A RED ONE who gives a shit?

  • awww cute girl and cool effects... well done.

  • 22 paedos... or 9 year olds.. we'll never know

  • I like "before" better :D

  • @xxbluejay21 you fuckin pedophile..

  • Exactly how did you achieve this look in After Effects?

  • @thestudentroomUK I used a selection of film stock from a package called Artbeats. i also adjusted the contrast and colour balance, increasing the yellows in the high-lights, and then slightly turn the shadows blue. With the Artbeats, i used overlay blending mode to add the grain without making the image to milky. Also you might want to try increasing the speed of the footage veryyy slightly, and adding a few jump cuts.

    Hope that kinda helps....

  • @tomaplaw she is very beautiful :D

  • nice i love the film grain

  • I liked the first video, what camera did u use? I think after effects ruined it.

    lol

  • Am I mad to think that that girl resembles a miniature Kate Winslet? :o

  • AWESOME!!!

  • how to shittify good video quality

  • may i please ask what camera your using?

  • @fucktheili I was using the Red One. Although you can achieve this look using a DSLR like the Canon 550d or Canon 600d etc.

  • @tomaplaw Red-One? Lies. Even when shooting the Red at it's lowest quality you still get a High Def look. This is a basic camcorder / HD. Also you need special computers to even edit RED camera footage. If your footage is a 38 second clip on a RED, it would over freeze any computer because of the file size. Also your lens width is totally messed up for a RED. A Red-One has a Very distinctive look.

  • @JoshuaWGLloyd Not even gonna dignify that comment with an answer. Do some research!

  • @tomaplaw I have done my research.

  • @tomaplaw you didnt use it i have one and it does way better shots

    nice lie though

  • @TheStickeyProduction Type Watching Millie into google, and check out the 'Watching Millie Rushes' on vimeo, you'll see that it was shot on the RED. The clips from a short film I directed last year. I couldn't be bothered to upload an HD version on Youtube. Why would i lie about what camera i shot on anyway haha!?

  • Comment removed

  • @JoshuaWGLloyd

You are a freaking idiot, did you learn everything you know about the Red from magazines. And FYI you DO NOT need special computers to edit Red files.

  • @Wheelworksga Well said.

  • @Wheelworksga I learn about Red camera's on the internet, on videos, on a professional film course, and from a friend. How about I just post this video to my course manager and see what she thinks. Btw she's used a Red-One for two of her short films. Plus you seem like an average person, so I doubt you have an Apple Mac, 12 Core, 12TB Monster computer that costs more than the RED camera. Yes I didn't think you spent at least $100,000 on equipment for 38 SECONDS . . . . . . . . .

  • @JoshuaWGLloyd

Actually I don't own a Red, I can't justify the cost when I own a ARRI Alexa and a few other toys. When I need one, we rent one Sorry to burst your bubble, but yeah I've been there done that. Don't trust everything your instructor says as fact.

  • @JoshuaWGLloyd Did your mom buy you a RED sweety?

  • @JoshuaWGLloyd This is a clip from a short film, i wanted to experiment so i chose 38 seconds from my rushes. And you don't need that kind of computer to edit RED footage, you know nothing.

  • @tomaplaw WOW! Everybody wants to see a short film that has a 38 second clip of a random girls face . . . . That is a Poor LIE. ALL 5 People I have shown so far have said this is not worth a RED, And that you just don't want to admit to humiliation. You can either inbox me a private message saying you lied, or remain a Filthy Fake! And Yes, you DO need a a computer with those specifications. I have came across people like you before. They research the camera, but not it's formats. You Lose.

  • @JoshuaWGLloyd I'm guessing by your maturity level you're probably not older than 14, and most likely sit alone creating COD montages eating cheesy puffs and twinkies. If you don't wanna believe me then that's your problem, and i don't care what you think, good luck with your research in this topic, once again you've done a fine job haha!!

  • @JoshuaWGLloyd First off, I want to agree on the monstrosity of a RED One/Epic file size. However, this at most 15 sec. clip. My $1500 custom built PC can handle Straight footage no problem, running AE Audacity plus hundreds of plugins, No. You Know the RED doesn't offer higher quality than a 1080, Just more pixel spread by doubling green pixel for luminosity. So, to say this wasn't shot on a RED One ( Though I believe for 10 videos I hardly believe it to be a RED) is hard to tell on YouTube.

  • Tutoriaaaaaal pls

  • cool :)

good job and cute gurl ;)

  • nice video!~ could i ask where you got the original video? is the original the first part of the film? or is the whole thing made by you?

  • @BhaP4ever The original video is mine, it's from a short film i made called Watching Millie

  • @tomaplaw woahhhh this is really good ^^ i love the vintage feel to it!~ hope you can make a tutorial as to how you get that effect and the light leaks ^^ and i'm off to watch your film, is it on youtube?

  • @BhaP4ever No sorry! We're sending it to festivals at the moment, altho if you type in the name into google, you'll see a website called redowl, there's a link to the teaser / collection of shots from the film :)

  • @tomaplaw yayyy well i hope you do well in those festivals because your videos really deserve to win ^^

  • What blending mode(s) are you using in AE with the Film Clutter collection?

  • @wbozarth I use a mixture depending on what effect i'm looking for. The most of the time i use 'screen' or 'add. However old film often has dark frames that have been slightly damaged, so for a couple of flicks use 'multiply' or 'soft light' to burn it out slightly. And sometimes i remove a frame or two and insert a light leak, it's so fast but that what often happens to poorly loaded film.

  • cute!

  • Hate to be a pain, but this is the best effect i think i have seen for the type of movie i want to shoot. Is there and way you could make a tutorial when you get some free time. Thanks :D

  • @BRAKEPK I'm planning on making a tutorial, just need to perfect it a bit more - and need some free time hah!

  • @tomaplaw I'd love to watch a tutorial too. Nice Job with the effect.

  • Awesome!!!!

  • Sorry but which clip from ArtBeats are you using?

  • good job! and a nice camera ;)

  • She's so cute!

  • looks like a commercial lol

  • holy shit a 25000 dollar camera

  • Hi! Whats this song called? Sounds nice! (=

    greetings

  • how to make the effect of 0.14-0.18 (the light flashing) ?

  • Film Look:

It´s all about depth of field (sometimes you can fake it in the post if your lens/cam cant make it on location), saturation, contrasts and reduction/pushing of colours of your choice. Choice of cam isnt rly important these days, BUT a good lens and more digital raw information/input your cam captures, the better - for better/fine any/colour correction and stuff in the post to prevent a loss of general pic quality. end of story. :)

  • @Buhrful Dynamic range, motion and colors also play a big role.

  • does adobe after effects run on window7??if so which one??

  • @tomaplaw

    what a Cam???

  • Thanks for the answer, but i can't find this camera in online shops.

Could you tell me THE PRECISE NAME or link me a site where this camera is sold?

    Thanks a lot.

Bytheway, awesome video, really 70s :D

  • @MrJippaLippa It's not really a camera you go and buy, it's a high end HD camera that people rent. I recently shot a short film on, so that's why i've been messing around with the footage. But this look can be achieved on most digital cameras. To get a similar look, i'd invest in a Canon 5d / 7d / 55d, then you get good HD and nice lenses.

  • @tomaplaw Could you send me the link of your short film?

I really like short films :D

  • @tomaplaw I have the Canon XL-H1 would that do it?

  • @MrJippaLippa It costs 25.000 $ if you really want to know.

  • @Black7Cloud ah...ok

  • what camera did you use to shoot this video?

  • @MrJippaLippa RED One

  • how did you get that blur in the background?

  • The distortions come from 'ArtBeats'. They have a new HD set which looks ace.

  • So how do you make this? Where did you get those distortions from?

  • Comment removed

  • @Darius12235 For inexpensive light leaks (which are what I think you are referring to when you say "distortions") and other light transitions visit lucavisualfx[dot]com

  • @lucavisualfx Thanks that is exactly what i was reffering to :)

  • This is exactly what i need to use in the future.Any chance for a 'How to' ;)

  • @SidneyTurnerMedia Transfer modes are your friend. Try "add" and see what you come up with!

  • @panictim Thanks for the reply!
