Fixed the RROD on my two xboxes but I keep getting an error saying "please insert this disk into a Xbox 360 Console" with every single game on both of them, and it reads the games as a DVD.. The only disks that play on my Xbox are CD's and DVD's..Is there any way to fix this??

@DaCoolioKid It should have came with a magnet attached to the top and bottom of the drive cover. You have to take it off. It's kinda hard at times but look it up on youtube. Look up "How to take of magnet on xbox 360 disc drive" or something like that.

Err I was switching tv's and I forgot to unplug xbox 360 scart wires from tv and my xbox moved really fast from the table but it nearly fell on the floor but i luckily moved it, but now i took the disc out and theres a big circle scratch round the end, is that because of the scuff marks?

@ltube12345 when you bump your xbox while the disc is spinning, it warps and touches the laser. That creates the ring on the disc, (ringing the disc) and the disc grinds against the laser getting some scuff from the disc

HAHA YES! I just opened my disc tray, then turned the power off leaving the tray open and the xbox off, then put my hoover on the xbox tray sucking all the dust out from inside the drive. Worked woo!

@isitonu33 Sounds like you unplugged the fan or otherwise have something stopping the fan from running.

open it back up and check your plugs you shouldnt have to have it back together to run it Mine ran better with the case off.

i just fixed an xbox with a read problem. it was actually the lens was so far out that it didn't see the cd at all. it was looking at the clear edge of the cd. i just pushed the lens in a bit and it is working great now

this is happening to me. but what usually works. is turn off your xbox without the game in. then sign into xbox live and then put the game in. usually works for me just a suggestion :)

GTAIV seems to read a lot easier than most discs for some reason, i have 2 xbox's and one has the read disc error. the one with the error i havent been able to fix, but for some reason it still plays things like GTAIV, Guitar Hero and Forza 2 just fine. most other games i try, no matter if the disc is brand new or not will not work.

Hey about Halo3 if you have a local DVD rental shop (i.e. Block Buster Video) most shops like that have their own DVD resurfacing buffer and most will charge you like a $1 to resurface your own disks I was able to do this with all the ruined disks that my 360 ate maybe you can too.
