The problem with the ZR1 is GM used a roots blower and not a twin screw which is much more efficient. I'm certain some aftermarket kits are here or coming and blowing past 700 hp will be easy. Base Corvettes with 9 psi Vortech or procharger make 550-600 rwhp all day on 93 octane. TT Z06s hit 900 rwhp with only 12-13 psi on 93 octane. Toss the roots and throw on a twin screw and look out. CFM means alot more than PSI.

A 5.0 liter V8 weights a lot more than 3.7 L twin turbo. This will change the dynamics of the car as well. If Nissan puts a V8 Turbo into GTR, the suspension, brakes, ECU... all needs to be retuned.
Low 11's on stock tires is amazing! GTR's quarter is 11.6 @ 120 and is no slouch, but I must give props to the ZO6 crowd even tho I prefer the Nissan. Now can the Chevy/Ford guys go back to fighting each other. I'm sure i saw some Mustang guys saying the stock GT500 can smoke the GTR, so they probably believe it'll pwned the ZO6 too.
Gtr's are nice cars, but are way overrated. This one has got tons of hp and torque but the track numbers stink. Only 129 mph with all that power? Not impressive.

Actually they are supposed to put a 4.5 V8 on the R35, but they've scraped it and just used the TT 3.8 V6, but the GT car R35 uses that 4.5 engine, maybe the R35 V spec II NUR or R36 will have that engine, who knows. I've always notice Nissan is always moving to a bigger engine each car generation e.g 250z to 370z. Am not even gonna be surprise if they made a V8 GTR, honda is already moving to V10 engine on their NSX same as Toyota on their LF-A.

@bigkckrva Sure,gtr has big potential.Chev zr1 has more.the quickest zr1 has run 10.7 as driven from the showroom floor,stock tyres and nothing stripped out.The corvette holds more g on a skid pan than big lurchy gtr.its also lighter and has the best brakes fitted to ANY production car available.Only after hammering the gtr for about a million laps around nurburgring could they even get close to the zr1 which set its time after minimal practice at the track.

@bigkckrva I have seen the p800 v zr1 video.The cars are virtually dead even.The gtr has a comprehensive and expensive upgrade including new turbos,exhaust,coolers etc.The zr1 still uses the stock supercharger,intercooler and exhaust with only the pulley ratio increased.The gtr v spec does pull a little more g on a skid pan but its also way more expensive than the zr1.A z06 carbon edition corvette would pull more g again than the v spec gtr.

Sorry but all the evidence with this video as proof is pointing to a Stock Z06 walking away on a GTR If it can only do 11.06 with 633whp whats it going to do with 406whp? That works out to being a high 11 low 12 with an AVERAGE driver. I did high 11's all night with my old mans Stock Z06 and some mid 11's passes and I am by no means a professional driver. But straight line is not what the GTR is about, and if you compare it with the corvette its priced about $40k more than a Z06 and about $20k less than a ZR1 here in Canada and compare the three on a road course and I will guaranty the ZR1 walks away on the GTR, id say its damn close in corners but in the straight section the ZR1 would leave it in the dust which is where it gets its advantage from and I would be willing to bet the Z06 is not far behind as it too will pull away in the straights.
Both nice cars but I think they are in two different classes as I believe you buy a GTR for a different reason than you would a ZR1 or Z06 (for most people any way) The GTR is in my opinion the more comfort and luxury super car that can be used all year (I see 3 GTRs driving around here right now and we have 3+ feet of snow and -35 degree weather) and the corvettes are a more in your face track orientated super car(s).
absolutly love this car (GTR in general) but i think their claims on being a C6 Z06 killer are a bit much. A stock 505hp Z06 can do the 1/4mile in 10.9 (search Jamie Furman on google) track offical signed and every thing. But that being said my old man has a 800hp TT Z06 and as much as i love it, I am waiting my turn to pick up a GTR personaly
I don't doubt that the 10.9 happened, but the fact is it happened only ONCE. No one with a Z06 was able to reproduce it. Multiple GT-Rs are now running 10s. Some are running 11.1s with only $1,000 in mods! And we're only getting started with tuning this car. The fact of the matter is, the GT-R (bone stock) *destroys* the Z06 on the track -- they've gone head-to-head at multiple tracks and the GT-R crushes it everytime; often by many seconds.
samuraispeed...Low 11's in a stock Z06 with stock tires (runflats no less) has been done over and over by many guys. High 10's with drag radials. Search for RangerC6Z06 and watch his videos. He knows how to launch the car without getting bogged down at the start and knows his shift points. This is the vette's true stock capability with a skilled driver. Can a GTR run consistent low 11's and high 10's completely stock? Even though it is an awesome car, I don't think it can.
@SamuraiSpeed Anyway,zr1 destroys gtr on the track,any track at that.Factory delivered zr1's have numerous officially documented runs well down into the tens,and thats on the stock tyres!.LPE has run easy 9,s with only a supercharger pulley change and open exhaust.Add to that the zr1 stops and turns better than the gtr.Still,the gtr is probably better overall value for money but not by a large margin.
@SamuraiSpeed z06s going 10.8 and 10.9 on drag radials are a reality ,jamie furman,ranger ,jason ...etc..the car does make a lot of power the problem is hooking it up properly a stock z06 can trap at 127 mph .I own a z06 2007 and my brother has a 2010 gtr and for seating ,quality,handling the gtr is an engineering marvel.As a used car purchase the z06 was a great performance bargain.
@masonizere It is simply called cubic inches or liters if you prefer. Since OHV engines require just 1 cam, changing a cam makes a huge difference especially with 427 ci. There are many H/C C6 ZO6 running 10s. Hell, there are C5ZO6s running low 11s/high 10s with H/C and bolt-ons. You can't beat cubes for natural breathing.

@masonizere I know that N/A 427s can make alot of power. I wouldn't pay 100K for the ZR1, but it has other strengths that the ZO6 doesn't have in regards to the internals and the block strength. I'm sure it has bolt-ons, but no doubt it is N/A. Have seen the numbers Turbocharged ZO6s are putting down on pump gas alone and then on race gas with less than 15 psi? I prefer the ZO6 over the ZR1 because it has much greater potential FI, but few cars will beat the ZO6 NA.

I was at the track the day this video was shot and we all had doubts this GT-R could do what he said it could do. Well, now I'm a believer.
Why don't you bring your Z06 to Florida and we'll line them up and see what they can do? Then, we can load them up and take them to Road Atlanta and see who wins that test too.
Honestly, i even read up the owners manual. people who say that they read that if you launch you void the warranty according to the owners manual are all wrong. The warranty is in a seperate booklet, lol. According to nissan, you don't void a warranty from launching, you void it if you broke it while launching which never happened. The only problem that can go wrong is the transaxel. The only thing that can go wrong with a z06 is everything just breaks down. lol
Let's clarify that. ONE Z06 in the history of the world 'supposedly' ran 10.8 bone stock. If the Z06 is so capable of that how come no other Z06 could ever do it? No other Z06s could get into the 10s like that ONE did. I'd hardly say that's the norm. And remember, this GT-R is on 20" RUNFLATS.
The GT-R also weighs 3800lbs. It's not just about HP. The fact of the matter is the GT-R will SMOKE the Z06 on the race track. (I'm not just talking about the drag strip.)

The Nismo R34 Z-Tune ran 10.06 on the 1/4 and has under 600hp and its a street "legal" car as well and it doesn't come with any "package deal" like the Vette (Lingenfelter) do...

So let me get this straight, you would choose a car that is known for having 1. the roof fly off. BTW that is a huge deal. 2. a wooden floor. 3. clutch pedal that sticks the floor. 4. cracked rotors. 5. center tunnel collapsing. 6. unbarable heat from the center tunnel. 7. rattles like a box of cans. 8. leaf springs. At this day in time. 9. few have split their blocks, due to the thin cyl walls to accomodate the paintcan size pistons. 10. A/C screwing up for no reason.
I dunno what kind of R34 jose and his Z06 was racing, prolly a R34 GT-S?? LOL...and its a stock Z06 going against a MODD R34? i haven't seen a stock Vette beating a MODD R34 yet, lol...plus my MODD 95'Z32TT (600-650HP) will eat his stock Vette..

The problem with the ZR1 is GM used a roots blower and not a twin screw which is much more efficient. I'm certain some aftermarket kits are here or coming and blowing past 700 hp will be easy. Base Corvettes with 9 psi Vortech or procharger make 550-600 rwhp all day on 93 octane. TT Z06s hit 900 rwhp with only 12-13 psi on 93 octane. Toss the roots and throw on a twin screw and look out. CFM means alot more than PSI.

A 5.0 liter V8 weights a lot more than 3.7 L twin turbo. This will change the dynamics of the car as well. If Nissan puts a V8 Turbo into GTR, the suspension, brakes, ECU... all needs to be retuned.

Low 11's on stock tires is amazing! GTR's quarter is 11.6 @ 120 and is no slouch, but I must give props to the ZO6 crowd even tho I prefer the Nissan. Now can the Chevy/Ford guys go back to fighting each other. I'm sure i saw some Mustang guys saying the stock GT500 can smoke the GTR, so they probably believe it'll pwned the ZO6 too.

who cares about which car is better, z06 or gt-r...both are faster than you can believe, and not to mention the zr1 beats both. i'll take a zr1 though cuz even if this runs an 11.04 it ends up at 129.5 mph, the zr1 ends at 138 or something...meaning the zr1 has more raw acceleration which is way more fun than launching fast off the line and burning your expensive tires and fucking up you diff and clutch...i guess u couldnt get around that with the zr1 it prob can spin in 2nd

Actually they are supposed to put a 4.5 V8 on the R35, but they've scraped it and just used the TT 3.8 V6, but the GT car R35 uses that 4.5 engine, maybe the R35 V spec II NUR or R36 will have that engine, who knows. I've always notice Nissan is always moving to a bigger engine each car generation e.g 250z to 370z. Am not even gonna be surprise if they made a V8 GTR, honda is already moving to V10 engine on their NSX same as Toyota on their LF-A.

@bigkckrva I have seen the p800 v zr1 video.The cars are virtually dead even.The gtr has a comprehensive and expensive upgrade including new turbos,exhaust,coolers etc.The zr1 still uses the stock supercharger,intercooler and exhaust with only the pulley ratio increased.The gtr v spec does pull a little more g on a skid pan but its also way more expensive than the zr1.A z06 carbon edition corvette would pull more g again than the v spec gtr.

@bigkckrva Too bad the gtr doesnt weigh 31-3300 pounds.Its heavy and thats why it is slower than a corvette.The whole car is steel and doesnt really use any innovative technologies in its chassis structure.By comparison the corvette uses magnesium,carbon fibre and aluminium throughout its chassis.by the time nissan lightened the v spec to a level that could compete with the corvette,the cost had blown way out of proportion.

@bigkckrva there are plenty of modded cars that can beat a veyron,nothing special there.there are zr1 putting out well over 1000hp that even a p800 are going to be severely blown away by.Lingenfelter twin turbo ls7 would absolutely annhialate a p800 gtr and make a veyron look like a taxi.The lingenfelter would be about 300 yards in front if you did a standing mile run.I dont know why people think 4wd is going to help off the line.most of the fastest o-60 times recorded are by 2wd cars.

@bigkckrva So far there is no p1000.Even with 1000 horsepower a gtr is not going to keep up with a 1300 horsepower corvette that is 250-300 kg lighter.Hennesey also plans to release a 1000 horsepower upgrade which no doubt will be quicker than a 1000 horsepower gtr.BTW the zr1 in the russian vid is only 680hp.its maybe a little slower than the p800.1000 hp zr1 will destroy p1000 gtr.Add to that the zr1 turns and stops better than that big 4wd tank.

How come this one in the video is only doing low 11's with over 220hp MORE than a STOCK GTR? Sorry but all the evidence with this video as proof is pointing to a Stock Z06 walking away on a GTR If it can only do 11.06 with 633whp whats it going to do with 406whp? That works out to being a high 11 low 12 with an AVERAGE driver. I did high 11's all night with my old mans Stock Z06 and some mid 11's passes and I am by no means a professional driver. And NO the average GT-R IS NOT doing 11.5 in the 1/4. I have personally seen GT-R's doing 12.2 to 11.8 with a few exceptional examples doing 11.5-11.6. That IS not average, average would mean that there are STOCK samples going well under that number to achieve that MAGIC NUMBER.

But straight line is not what the GTR is about, and if you compare it with the corvette its priced about $40k more than a Z06 and about $20k less than a ZR1 here in Canada and compare the three on a road course and I will guaranty the ZR1 walks away on the GTR, id say its damn close in corners but in the straight section the ZR1 would leave it in the dust which is where it gets its advantage from and I would be willing to bet the Z06 is not far behind as it too will pull away in the straights.

Both nice cars but I think they are in two different classes as I believe you buy a GTR for a different reason than you would a ZR1 or Z06 (for most people any way) The GTR is in my opinion the more comfort and luxury super car that can be used all year (I see 3 GTRs driving around here right now and we have 3+ feet of snow and -35 degree weather) and the corvettes are a more in your face track orientated super car(s).

I don't doubt that the 10.9 happened, but the fact is it happened only ONCE. No one with a Z06 was able to reproduce it. Multiple GT-Rs are now running 10s. Some are running 11.1s with only $1,000 in mods! And we're only getting started with tuning this car. The fact of the matter is, the GT-R (bone stock) *destroys* the Z06 on the track -- they've gone head-to-head at multiple tracks and the GT-R crushes it everytime; often by many seconds.

samuraispeed...Low 11's in a stock Z06 with stock tires (runflats no less) has been done over and over by many guys. High 10's with drag radials. Search for RangerC6Z06 and watch his videos. He knows how to launch the car without getting bogged down at the start and knows his shift points. This is the vette's true stock capability with a skilled driver. Can a GTR run consistent low 11's and high 10's completely stock? Even though it is an awesome car, I don't think it can.

@masonizere It is simply called cubic inches or liters if you prefer. Since OHV engines require just 1 cam, changing a cam makes a huge difference especially with 427 ci. There are many H/C C6 ZO6 running 10s. Hell, there are C5ZO6s running low 11s/high 10s with H/C and bolt-ons. You can't beat cubes for natural breathing.

@masonizere I know that N/A 427s can make alot of power. I wouldn't pay 100K for the ZR1, but it has other strengths that the ZO6 doesn't have in regards to the internals and the block strength. I'm sure it has bolt-ons, but no doubt it is N/A. Have seen the numbers Turbocharged ZO6s are putting down on pump gas alone and then on race gas with less than 15 psi? I prefer the ZO6 over the ZR1 because it has much greater potential FI, but few cars will beat the ZO6 NA.

I was at the track the day this video was shot and we all had doubts this GT-R could do what he said it could do. Well, now I'm a believer.
Why don't you bring your Z06 to Florida and we'll line them up and see what they can do? Then, we can load them up and take them to Road Atlanta and see who wins that test too.

Honestly, i even read up the owners manual. people who say that they read that if you launch you void the warranty according to the owners manual are all wrong. The warranty is in a seperate booklet, lol. According to nissan, you don't void a warranty from launching, you void it if you broke it while launching which never happened. The only problem that can go wrong is the transaxel. The only thing that can go wrong with a z06 is everything just breaks down. lol

Let's clarify that. ONE Z06 in the history of the world 'supposedly' ran 10.8 bone stock. If the Z06 is so capable of that how come no other Z06 could ever do it? No other Z06s could get into the 10s like that ONE did. I'd hardly say that's the norm. And remember, this GT-R is on 20" RUNFLATS.

Also, if you run the numbers on a calculater, 513hp is physically not enough to propal 3300lbs in the 1/4, in under 11.3.

What a shame 7 liters and it only makes 513hp, which is not enough to run 10's.
What a shame ZO6's roofs fly off, clutch pedal sticks to the floor, center tunnel catchs fire and collapse, cant drive hard long due to the heat, rattles like no other, has the interior of a cavilier, built like crap, chrome plated cowboy boots.
