All of you are right! It's an overheat problem. The only way to fix it is to remove the old dry thermal paste on the GPU & CPU and apply some new thermal paste so it won't overheat. search for some youtube videos on how to disassemble the ps3 & how to add thermal paste on the GPU & CPU. I didn't make a video how I did it and to show proof it works but it's the truth. Thumbs up if it worked for u and to show everyone else :)

It's not the screen, my ps3 had the same issue, and nothing. I tried with the HDMI and it worked like an hour. A friend of mine told me it was the video/graphics card. I don't know, I just gave up.I had a 60 Gb version.
