Love this track, got this on blue one sided 12" way back, prob 20 years now, I have a feeling this mix (as in the track) was done by the Orb but can't remember, I'm gonna have to dig this bad boy out again, that and Step in Time by Man Machine....ah good times :0)
what a start too a journy if only they came along like ths still instead we get the like of tiesto and so on ,,,,,hey dont get me wrong there good but there just not in the same league in my eyes
without a single doubt still the best dance music complimation ever mixed and made, the mix before underworld dark and long kicks so much arse, any dj knows that is a absolute seamless mix
@re99volt The man talking was David Attenborough, mentioning the Trans-Amazonian Highway, and sampled from one of his wildlife programs. This version is shorter than the 10:40 one on Northern Exposure, so I would guess the talky bit at the beginning has been edited out...
Ah the Nothern Exposure mix. I have so many Progressive House, Progressive Trance records. I have too many to name. But above and all Its always This mix and Nothern Exposure East Coast Cds that always get me. You can hear it in the mix. JD and Sash took their time. A lot of mixes now start off good but get boring in the middle of the set. These guys did it and kept the music interesting. When JD and Sasha Mix they are unpredictable. Other Djs you kinda know where the mix is going.
This mix was so Organic, fresh and not trying to be flashy. Its classical trance imo. The begining of the millenium started off well with dance mixes but towards the end of the forst decade a lot of dance music has been just average. 90s dance music was the best. You feel the club vibe listening to this
i really don't understand how an awesome track like this only gets 1500 views in 6 months meanwhile a track from pussycat dolls or timbaland or whateva gets hundreds of thousands views in days. This world is FUBAR :P
@dvdtheone without a single doubt still the best dance music complimation ever mixed and made, the mix before underworld dark and long kicks so much arse, any dj knows that is a absolute seamless mix
@dvdtheone its called popular culture my friend, its a shame the way things are, most people have no clue of decent music and many others just dont give a fuck. cest la vie
listening to this i feel transported back too the time when music was good very good.
alot of time and effort has gone into producing such a classic track unlike these day's they stick anything in the chart's too make cash BRING BACK THE 90'S FOR FUCK SAKE.
totally amazing piece of music that sends shivers down your spine and takes you on a journey of wonder, the 90's electronica scene was something else unlike now where it's the same dance tune churned out over & over again
Not many people know this tune...one of the best from Northern Exposure which in itself was not that popular in 1996...WHY? It has to be the single most forward looking progressive mix of our times - Sasha and Digweed at their ultimate best ;)

where is the sample where the man is talking about the trans amazonian highway?"which is nothing more than a very long, single track dirt road"?
