@uscmstormdog No, some locos has modernised square-look headlights but this one is from ex Soviet Union and look imo like "Russian Terminator" but in Poland we call it "Gagarin". Check EN-57 - this is very funny train, check wikipedia...
@RoWoWT Veeeeery old and a bit "experimental" soviet design. The engine is essentially a monstrous, 13 ton, 2000HP, two-stroke diesel straight from a WWII nazi U-boot. It was equipped with a weird combination of force-feeding - it uses both a turbocharger and a supercharger. This weird design needs some time to build revs and start feeding enough air to burn all the solid particles efficiently (that's when black smoke turns more-less transparent). So, believe it or not, nothing is wrong with it.

@soberek Bullshit , the 14D40 engine was copied from American GMC engine from 1930ies, and this one have new 4-stroke 12czn26 also from Kolomna.
