  • a brill sound from 67,and awesome video to boot-so funny and so true!!

  • Brinsley Schwarz's father was my maths teacher when I was 11! Group was named after the house they lived in in Sevenoaks. Remember going out to buy this single when it came out. Still have it somewhere.

  • I knew all these guys & used to go to their practise sessions in John Seymours mums front room!!!!!( in the early days!) I still keep in touch with Dave Cottam .....

  • connaissait pas

pensait que c 'était un morceau des TOMORROW .

  • Hey, this is great! Does anyone remember their song "Tomorrow Today" (I think that was the title but not sure) and if so, is there a clip of it anywhere?

  • great song with great pictures, it takes me back to the days of pirate radio

  • Brilliant! Thanks for posting this rare gem!

  • I think I have this as Keith West, but can't remember. Anyhow, great. Oh, any chance you have In My Life by Kippington Lodge???

  • I much prefer this version than Tomorrow one.

  • I have not heard that one.

  • My fave is Kippington Lodge's "Tell me a story". Can't find this song anywhere. Too bad my 60s single record of this song is totally worn out,

  • I will check my UK connections to see what I can find.

  • Originally recorded by the 'legendary' Tomorrow on their only LP. Keith West was the singer and they also featured Steve Howe on guitar and Twink on drums. Used to do a mime fight during their stage act.

  • A "mime fight"? Mmmmm. Must have been interesting.

  • I think it was between Twink and Junior the bass player. Long time ago now. Last saw them in 1967 a few months before they disbanded.

  • KL was essentially the same band as "Brinsley Schwarz"-really just a name change. Didn't help too much-but no denying quality of music and talent.

  • True but I have heard of other British garage bands that also covered this and to me this is the better version.

  • Also I believe this was part of the (legendary never finished) Mark Wirtz Teenage Opera project. Now THERE'S something for you to do some research on. Start Googling, buddy.

  • Sure, I'll get right on that.

I just thought it had an interesting hook.

  • Certainly produced by Wirtz and Shy Boy was written by `Hopkins-Burgess` . Hopkins is Keith Hopkins better known as Keith West of Excerpt From A Teenage Opera(Grocer Jack) / Sam fame.

This song doesnt feature Nick Lowe as he didnt join the band until later on.

  • i don't believe I credited Nick on this recording if you read the liner notes on the video.

  • Wow Terry, you are getting good at this! Great song and a surperb job on creating this video. Very well done.

    Bob

  • Thanks for the comments, the friendship, and the view.

  • love it. you just dont find lyrics like "he makes the tea at ten and then at three again - he buys her biscuits" any more.

  • But it rhymes! A necessary component for pop song s back then.

    Thanks for the view.

  • @naishdave It's cool you pointed that lyric out... that's the kinda stuff I love too!
