........wow. I've been reading through the comments, and I'm kind of surprized and proud to see people who are not from Finland saying things in Finnish and saying they love the langueage. It's just... I don't know. I guess I just didn't think that people really cared, Finland being just a small country in the North. Right now, I'm really proud to be Finnish. And I remember listening to this song when I was younger. And then I find it here, on a Hetalia vid. I don't know, just, didn't expect it.
Its pretty sad to me that it stats that Finn's remember everything and sing...Im Finn I can't remember what I ate for breakfest and I don't and cannot sing -____-
Actually, at 2:12, the picture says ''Mikään ei kuivu kyyneltä nopeammin'' not ''Mikään ei kuivu kyyneleitä nopeammin. The difference between the two is, that ''Mikään ei kuivu kyyneleitä nopeammin'' is in plural, but ''Mikään ei kuivu kyyneltä nopeammin'' is in singular. So, it is ''Mikään ei kuivu kyyneltä nopeammin'' and the translation is ''Nothing dries faster than a tear''
Sorry for complaining and my crappy English. Thank you for the awesome video!
@aurielMoon They're small platforms with a roof and walls. They were collection points, where the milk lorries picked up full milk churns and dropped off empty ones. They were also popular meeting places among young people back in the old times.
sex fantacys- i started laughing cause its finland XD i think sweeden is the one with the fantacys. why else does he always seem deep in thought, or says nothing but blushes a little? XD
Now i know why he dresses up as santa, cause "the fins believe that he fell in love with Lapland and deccided to make it his headqaurters" "In finland today the santa claus village lies near the town of Rovaniemi on the arctic circle, children from all over the world come to visit santa and his reindeer." Santa exists, SO SCREW YOU MOM! *quotes from Countries of the world; Finland* ahh~ now i want to go visit him~
I'm Norwegian but I freely admit SUOMI readily bitchslaps the other scandos. In fact, SUOMI is too awesome to even be called a scandianvian country. Sami Hayha is the most awesome man to live in the 20th century. He single-handedly killed over 500 red commie bastards!

The hardest language to learn is the one you're trying to learn now. If I'd try to learn russian ( which I will, next semester my russian classes will start ) I'd think it would be the hardest one there is! But according to the officials.. ..Well, there are no officials. Just speculation. It's said that it would be polish, some times icelandic, sometimes mandarin chinese.. But yeah, I think there are lot oh 'em c:
@Sumurasia I totally agree. Like how I take Japanese as my third language and it's hell trying to even pass my tests. I guess it's mostly the grammar... with practice, symbols can be memorised easily (unless your mother tongue is Chinese with the 4000+ characters...) But grammar takes some getting used to. And probably the unshakable accent.

@x2xWhaaax7x No, "Scandinavia" only includes three countries (Norway, Sweden and Denmark). However, the "Nordic" countries are five (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland (plus their associated territories)) :]

@256NatLiz No it's self ruled but it belongs to Danmark. Actually Greenland is ruled by a Left-Wing Socialist. And it's a Democratic Parlament. But the head of the state is the Danish Queen
@SMGJohn Thanks for letting me know. Last question (unless your response provokes another)- So, would Greenland be considered a country, or territory, or what?
Everyone's a democracy nowadays. (don't come back at that- it's an overall generalization)
@256NatLiz Greenland is something called 'Autonomous constituent country' So yes it's like a country. Call it a puppet nation or something close to it, it's a country which has it's own government but overral belongs to Danmark and the Queen of Danmark is the head of state of Greenland. Just like Queen Elizabeth is head of state in Canada
@256NatLiz Greenland is still a nation of it's own but Danmark kinda owns them. They are a country under the Danish Kingdom and the queen of Danmark is nothing more then just a celebrity figure just like the Emperor and Empress in Japan. And the queen of England is also a celebrity but still they have the powers to wage war and stuff like that.
Canada is also a independence country but it's under the commonwealth
@SMGJohn Reason I ask is because my history teacher last year said Quebec wanted to become a part of France again, and I thought that could only happen if the country was completely independent, like America is. (man, even the type of politics I like is complicated...)
Most (if not all) past royalty figures are now just celebrities. America made the whole world democratic!
@256NatLiz America made the world democratic? Oh, how they do that? Dropped two nuclear weapons and over 4000 Billion bombs killing a total of 2 billion human beings!? Selling their products all over the world which caused another billion to die. Inventing the Nuclear bomb and causing fear to everyone.
Sounds to me that Democracy is kinda evil. Anywa, Democracy is clearly not working as you see the world is collapsing. So much for that, now it's time to revert back to the old way...
@SMGJohn America was the first country to be created with a democracy (unless the Greek empire was- I can't remember. I don't think so), and we've been sticking our nose where it doesn't belong in order to spread democracy throughout the world. World War II is an exception, because we didn't want to join until Pearl Harbor.
And the old way has its pros and cons, mostly cons.
@256NatLiz America was not the first country to be a Democracy. Fact there was tens of countries that where Democratic before America even existed. Democracy was invented in Greek...
And if Americans think they are spreading Democracy in the world then I think Russia and China should just steamroll the world at once and spread their ideologies too. Oh and why don't Russia nuke the world too!? Why NOT!? Because Russia and China are intellegent countries unlike America
@SMGJohn That's a thing (and stereotype) about Americans: "we're dumba**es." It's true, actually, in some aspects. Our government doen't know how to do anything correctly about our country nowadays; blame the people, not the concept.
You said China and Russia are intellegent (China basically owns us- and we still send relieve funds!), but only mentioned Russia having nukes. Not attackin ya; just pointin it out.
@256NatLiz The US doesn't made the whole world democratic! But it's true that most countries became democratic after the US did.
But democracy is not everywhere the same. In some European countries you have different "democratic systems" than in the US. Also, the US has a “Presidential Government System” which does not exist in Europe, except Belarus.
The US do stick their nose in stuff where it doesn't belong; but to use it as an excuse for "freedom" is not quite right ~__~'
The term "democracy" first appeared in ancient Greek political and philosophical thought. The Greek city state of Athens established what is generally held as the first democracy in 507 BC! And even during the Middle Ages, there were various systems involving elections or assemblies. The first nation in modern history to adopt a democratic constitution was the short-lived Corsican Republic in 1755.
@SkadiPirate The Founding Fathers took some elements of the Greek democracy and used them in their government. Some elements, such as the two main leaders (I forget all the particular names now), were not added, as they would bring problems. The Founding Fathers wanted to make a perfect government, which they called a "perfect union." Obviously, we don't always act as a union, but our democracy (as a type of government) has worked for over 200 years. You're not American, are you.
@256NatLiz Sorry, but how does this respond to what I wrote? I'm sorry, don't be so pissed. I have nothing againt the US (great nature~, nice people~ <3), but I'm against that some people act as if the US is the best country in the world (and every other country wants to be like them). I'm against upper-patriotism in general. Of course, love your country, but don't love it blind! ;]
No, I'm not American. I am European. I live in Europe and I'm happy here and don't want to live anywhere else. :]
@SkadiPirate Apology accepted. I feel no vice. I don't blame you for enjoying your life in Europe: I'm wanting to visit at least three European countries at some point in my life.
We Americans (I think especially my generation) are spoiled, it's true. I've always wondered what it's like in Europe, cause we've always been told that other countries don't have the same luxuries America has. That's probably where the view of stuck-up Americans comes from, and another reason I want to go to Europe.
We are also living in houses. We are also having shopping malls & supermarktes. We even can drive cars. Every country has their own culture, cuisine, music, movies, musicians, actors, TV-series...We are spoiled too, we also have luxuries~ etc.etc.~
We are not evil, underdeveloped and stupid as some American movies portrayes us -coughcough-
We want to live in peace too and we are free people too~ 8D
@SkadiPirate I know you have the same "necessities" (malls and cars and such) as us: it's the freedoms and more political blah that we've been told is different. Like the civil war in Libya. They didn't have the same freedoms we do.
I'd like to visit (now that I think about it, there's more than 3) Spain (practice espanol), Germany, Austria, Sweden, and Russia. Kaliningrad oblast is one part of Russia I'd like to visit. Basically my favorite Hetalia characters (except the Deutsch countries).
@SkadiPirate Studied abroad, have you? That's one aspect where Europeans are lucky: ya'll can drive to many other interesting countries. We have Canada *points north* and Mexico *points south*.
@SkadiPirate Aw! *disappointed* More reason to go myself!
I'm trying to disern which European country you're from. My first wild guess is Britain or France, since most people there speak English (or so I've been told). If I remember right, you're German, but don't live in Germany...
It's easy for you, cause I said flat out I'm American.
@256NatLiz Yes, go! I'm sure you will love it! (I especially recommend Sweden for a first visit...It's so freaking beautiful! <3) :D
Well, in the UK you speak English and like in all the European countries you study English at school so nearly everybody (of the younger generation) speaks English as a second language ^^
@SkadiPirate That's awesome! I'm only 1/16th German. My grandmother's grandfather came from Germany.
That's it! My first stops in Europe are Sweden and Kaliningrad oblast! Though my friend was telling me today about his trip to Italy this summer, so now I'm wanting to see all the stuff there (though I could do without the pervertedness).
Not surprised about the learning English: it's the universal language, like Greek used to be (or was it Latin? I'm getting Greek and Roman empires mixed up).
@SkadiPirate My friend went to Italy this past summer (I may have mentioned it earlier), and he went basically all over the western part of Italy, north and south, and he said he could read the signs and stuff cause Italian is close to Spanish.
I am the only person that thinks Finland is Handsome and Sexy instead of cute and adorible? Really girls (or guys lol) Finland is not that uke ok. I support SuFin as well as BADASS Finland.

I don't think so), and we've been sticking our nose where it doesn't belong in order to spread democracy throughout the world. World War II is an exception, because we didn't want to join until Pearl Harbor.
And the old way has its pros and cons, mostly cons.
256NatLiz 6 months ago
@256NatLiz America was not the first country to be a Democracy. Fact there was tens of countries that where Democratic before America even existed. Democracy was invented in Greek...
And if Americans think they are spreading Democracy in the world then I think Russia and China should just steamroll the world at once and spread their ideologies too. Oh and why don't Russia nuke the world too!? Why NOT!? Because Russia and China are intellegent countries unlike America
SMGJohn 6 months ago
@SMGJohn That's a thing (and stereotype) about Americans: "we're dumba**es." It's true, actually, in some aspects. Our government doen't know how to do anything correctly about our country nowadays; blame the people, not the concept.
You said China and Russia are intellegent (China basically owns us- and we still send relieve funds!), but only mentioned Russia having nukes. Not attackin ya; just pointin it out.
256NatLiz 6 months ago
@256NatLiz The US doesn't made the whole world democratic! But it's true that most countries became democratic after the US did.
But democracy is not everywhere the same. In some European countries you have different "democratic systems" than in the US. Also, the US has a “Presidential Government System” which does not exist in Europe, except Belarus.
The US do stick their nose in stuff where it doesn't belong; but to use it as an excuse for "freedom" is not quite right ~__~'

I'm sorry, I don't really understand what you wrote...^^''
But the democratic system is very old, e.g. it was already existing in the middle of the 5th - 4th century BC in some Greek city-states :]

@256NatLiz And here a little history lesson ;]
The term "democracy" first appeared in ancient Greek political and philosophical thought. The Greek city state of Athens established what is generally held as the first democracy in 507 BC! And even during the Middle Ages, there were various systems involving elections or assemblies. The first nation in modern history to adopt a democratic constitution was the short-lived Corsican Republic in 1755.
SkadiPirate 6 months ago
@SkadiPirate The Founding Fathers took some elements of the Greek democracy and used them in their government. Some elements, such as the two main leaders (I forget all the particular names now), were not added, as they would bring problems. The Founding Fathers wanted to make a perfect government, which they called a "perfect union." Obviously, we don't always act as a union, but our democracy (as a type of government) has worked for over 200 years. You're not American, are you.
256NatLiz 6 months ago
@256NatLiz Sorry, but how does this respond to what I wrote? I'm sorry, don't be so pissed. I have nothing againt the US (great nature~, nice people~ <3), but I'm against that some people act as if the US is the best country in the world (and every other country wants to be like them). I'm against upper-patriotism in general. Of course, love your country, but don't love it blind! ;]
No, I'm not American. I am European. I live in Europe and I'm happy here and don't want to live anywhere else. :]
SkadiPirate 6 months ago
@SkadiPirate Apology accepted. I feel no vice. I don't blame you for enjoying your life in Europe: I'm wanting to visit at least three European countries at some point in my life.
We Americans (I think especially my generation) are spoiled, it's true. I've always wondered what it's like in Europe, cause we've always been told that other countries don't have the same luxuries America has. That's probably where the view of stuck-up Americans comes from, and another reason I want to go to Europe.
256NatLiz 6 months ago
@256NatLiz ...Y'know, it's not THAT different XD
Which countries would you like to visit? :]
SkadiPirate 6 months ago
@SkadiPirate I know you have the same "necessities" (malls and cars and such) as us: it's the freedoms and more political blah that we've been told is different. Like the civil war in Libya. They didn't have the same freedoms we do.
I'd like to visit (now that I think about it, there's more than 3) Spain (practice espanol), Germany, Austria, Sweden, and Russia. Kaliningrad oblast is one part of Russia I'd like to visit. Basically my favorite Hetalia characters (except the Deutsch countries).
256NatLiz 6 months ago
@256NatLiz Yes, but most African countries are ~very~ different compared to the US and to Europe :]
Oh, lovely choices, those are all really nice countries...! (I can tell, I've visited all of them ;])
SkadiPirate 6 months ago
@SkadiPirate Studied abroad, have you? That's one aspect where Europeans are lucky: ya'll can drive to many other interesting countries. We have Canada *points north* and Mexico *points south*.
You've been to Kaliningrad oblast?!
256NatLiz 6 months ago
@256NatLiz No, I haven't studied abroad yet, but I will do so - starting in October :D
I was just lucky to have a lot of opportunities to go on holidays~ ...I'm such a spoiled brat. xD
Yes, but I was so small that I can't really remember anymore :''D
SkadiPirate 6 months ago
@SkadiPirate Aw! *disappointed* More reason to go myself!
I'm trying to disern which European country you're from. My first wild guess is Britain or France, since most people there speak English (or so I've been told). If I remember right, you're German, but don't live in Germany...
It's easy for you, cause I said flat out I'm American.
Am I close?
256NatLiz 6 months ago
@256NatLiz Yes, go! I'm sure you will love it! (I especially recommend Sweden for a first visit...It's so freaking beautiful! <3) :D
Well, in the UK you speak English and like in all the European countries you study English at school so nearly everybody (of the younger generation) speaks English as a second language ^^
Yes, I'm like 50% German :]
SkadiPirate 6 months ago
@SkadiPirate That's awesome! I'm only 1/16th German. My grandmother's grandfather came from Germany.
That's it! My first stops in Europe are Sweden and Kaliningrad oblast! Though my friend was telling me today about his trip to Italy this summer, so now I'm wanting to see all the stuff there (though I could do without the pervertedness).
Not surprised about the learning English: it's the universal language, like Greek used to be (or was it Latin? I'm getting Greek and Roman empires mixed up).
256NatLiz 6 months ago
@256NatLiz Yes, Italy is great too <3
But if you wanna go to the Southern part, be prepared that they don't speak English so well ^^'
SkadiPirate 5 months ago
@SkadiPirate My friend went to Italy this past summer (I may have mentioned it earlier), and he went basically all over the western part of Italy, north and south, and he said he could read the signs and stuff cause Italian is close to Spanish.
256NatLiz 5 months ago
@256NatLiz Yep, Italian and Spanish are both Romance languages and are related :]
SkadiPirate 5 months ago
@SkadiPirate You live in that area? I'm still trying to figure out which European country you live in.

@256NatLiz Fffff, who knows! 8D
Anyway, I moved - because starting in October I will study abroad ;]
