I have this on "I'm Your Man" dvd. And yet watching this video I have goose bumps and tears in my eyes, it just moves me so much. These ladies have such feeling. Leonard has chosen well. I've seen LC over the past 30 years at venues across UK, Norway, Canada and US. He never fails to excel. And while I loved the Webb gals and Sharon Robo last year, no-one comes close to Julie & Perla. Listen to Perla's version of 'Nancy'. Simply brilliant.

I agree with you. I saw them live a few years ago, and there is an intensity that Perla and Julie have together with Leonard that isn't quite there--yet--with his new backup singers. Of course, I still love Jennifer Warnes also.

music does not get more brilliant than this, or performance more luminous. I had the honor of having Julie Christensen sing on some demo songs of mine with Van Dyke Parks in LA, 1992. Unforgettable. Julie is almost impossible to match, but Perla does exactly that, and perfectly. Stunning.
