to all of the people out there who say Maynard is only as famous as he is for his upper register notes, this performance should shut them all up. the solo at the begining wasn't really high, but gosh it was hot!

...the lead-trumpeter is craig johnson. Craig studied trumpet with the great Don "Jake" Jacoby. Craig is currently one of New Yorks most in demand freelance trumpet players.

I remember Maynard from his concerts in NYC. Great player and even greater human being. We would yell out "To the Hilt", and he would hit them super high notes. Miss him greatly.
