  • So what do u do with BPM to keep it at a steady rate

  • @azzzzn 140 all da way

  • Dubstep is in half steps- (kick 2 snare 4) WITH hats and cymbals...

The baselines are powerful with varying timbres to produce the "wub" sound... Also very Sub-Bass centred for clubs...

  • Im pretty certain anyone watching this knows how to count beats.

  • dun digga dun chh pshhh tikka tshhh SNARE tshhh

  • 1,2,3 and 4

  • Dub was created by some guy tweakin out on drugs after and party and slowed down the tempo on the cdj to half the speed.! They tripped out because it sounded like subliminal messages and shit. Thats how dub was created, Fuck,.... stupid dildos

  • Why can't I find any fucking tutorial on how to dance dub step holy fuck

  • @8motherslover

Make your own dubstep dance and post a tutorial =]

  • Bradley nowell from sublime created "dub" electronic dubs been out since 06, stfu unless you know what your talking about..stop fighting about music genres

  • @CrimsonCalyx did you just say someone from sublime created dub? hahaha

  • @s4oop Shut the fuck up, you probably listen to skrillfag and aboslute shit like that, Dub has been around since 2006, not 2011.

  • @TheOfficialInception Now YOU'RE retarded.

Dubstep has been around since the late 90's,

DUB has been around since the LATE 60's!

    Stupid kids.

  • i like the part where he said 1..2..3..4..

  • @s4oop If you didnt realize this video came out three years ago.

  • 5 6 7 8, 5 6 7 8, 5 6 7 8.

  • @s4oop Umad ?

  • counting in half time??

  • can i ask were did you bbuy your records from

  • @SikkofMainstream everyone, they just don't know it yet.

  • Wait, so basically it's means that the bpm of the house track has to be double that of the dubstep track?

  • @SoThisOneDude I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the Dubstep track would have to be sped up. Find a Dubstep track, and Just listen to the kick. Count em'. Then find a House track, and listen to the kick. House is actually usually around 125-130 bpm, where as Dubstep is 140. House and Dubstep are both 4/4 (usually. I suppose you could say Dubstep is 2/4). So you have to speed the Dub tune up to match the kick tempo of the House tune. Or maybe that was all just rambling.

  • @SoThisOneDude Not entirely true, Dubstep runs at 140bpm and Drum & Bass commonly runs at 160–190bpm.

  • @DinosaurYeahYeah False most drum n bass counts around 90 bpm

  • @ItsMisterPaint your wrong mate

  • who needs a 6 channel mixer???

  • dubstep is basic dnb but with 1 kick took out & snare, to find the timing of dubstep, nod ur head from side to side.

  • where's the tutorial 2? maybe you could teach how to mix dubstep with electro house

  • 1234

  • 7:20 was horrible..

  • Hey, i love dubstep and techno and electronic and house... just all that type of music and i want to DJ but i dont knw what i need... i knw i need a mixer but i looked at the numak mixdeck and its like 600$ i dont rlly have that kind of money just in my pocket... anyways what do i need to buy and do you knw of any cheaper products? anyone who has an answe plz pm me :) thanks for your help! great video bye the way!!

  • @musicgamesschool first off u need a cd players or turntables and a mixer and something to play it through...i would suggest getting pioneer or rane but do your research watch alot of ellaskins videos very helpful and easy to understand oh yea and maybe a program such as serato or traktor...just research pioneer dj equipment and watch alot of youtube video's

  • @musicgamesschool sup dude its good to know lots of people are buying dj gear to mix dubstep, well right now i would recomend you is a mixdeck pro, its a controller in which you can control virtual dj, or traktor software, its the same as having 2 turntables and a mixer, but with 10 times more effects and way better. hit me up if u need more info

  • @musicgamesschool private message me (:

  • cool

  • dnb and dusbtep have nothing in common dud :/

  • here my first dubstep mix /watch?v=Ldpo8bVxzSg

  • Chase and status not chase and stattus!!!

  • your counting at half time , your counting at 70bpm

most tracks are 140 and its much easier to mix if you actully count it the bpm its meant to be :P

  • @NutbeanDubstep They may be in 140bpm but it is cut time, so technically, 70bpm.

  • @DjBRayProduktions haha i know , i agree its easier for a novice to count at 70 but still

  • whats the first song?

  • @DJMeChanOGrimE rusko - mr chips

  • check out Mr. Wizflo on FaceBook! That guy can mix!

  • I'd care to point out when counting along to Eastern Jam, you're counting at half time not the full 140(ish) bpm

  • Dowwnload the audio from this video at speedyconversion doht cohm.

  • @ellaskins how do you know what bpm you would run in a house song lets say the dub is running between 140bpm/ 142bpm. I understand the count break down but i tried putting this together and it was a fail ...

  • you are so inpirating :D

    i love dubstep,too

    awesome :D

  • wait did you say 5678?

  • congratulations uve found caspa and rusko......

  • That Dubstep is Dirtier than African Water

  • @GadgeTechKid your dirtier than african

  • @GadgeTechKid Nice copy & paste

  • @GadgeTechKid HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • dubstep makes people vomit

  • @pecky1234 nope. but it is filthy though.

  • Fail at saying Chase & Status

  • I always thought the snare was on the 3rd beat, at least thats how i do it when producing.?

    Ellaskins Rules!

  • @TheEverettRyan nooo i came here because i thought it would help me learn about the technical structure of dubstep. but this guy is stupid and doesnt know more than someone that listens to mainstream music.

    *sigh*

  • If you can beatmix, you can mix everything! If you need a video to teach you every singel genre, you aint creativ enough and should not sell, but give away your dj equipment!

  • @sensiselecta notice how this video isnt telling you what to mix and how to mix it. its basically teaching people about dubstep that dont know a whole lot about it.

  • Every video I see a different set up lol.

  • undeground dubstep fans take a listen to a track i just produced looking for feedback!

    /watch?v=CVkC7A1O9ZI thanks.

  • lol no joke, love dubstep, favorite is the alice in wonderland to sierra leone dubstep <3 soooo sick lol

  • yo - how do i get the talking bass sound - i'm a dumbstep!

  • @russhurley Take a base that is a sine wave with a volume lfo on it... add the bitcrusher plugin with the last distortion type then play around with the parameters... thats the easy way

  • @IVTheFourth cool - can you do a video on it??? i just got sylinth and managed to get a good bass - i'll try to upload a bit later... cheers. E17

  • MR CHIPS FOR THE WIN!!!!!1

  • Is it really that hard for people to find the beat in this song/the music in general? I think it's absolutely thumping with beat! I can't help but feel it.

  • Any chance I could have your jumper?

  • @jacksamuelwilden nice mate

  • ur fucking brilliant!

  • your a legend man.

  • shit, that blocmix is heavy! I am finding that!

  • best beatbox ever :D

  • Oh this video is horrible.

  • i learned how to count a 4/4 beat today

fucking thanks man. my basic human capabilities and instinct didnt allow me the ability of such a concept.

  • SOMEBODY PLEASE! make a dubstep mix to the following song then send to my inbox, and reply to this comment. The song is called Robo Caps - Snak The Ripper

    watch?v=BNgoXMJrMgc

  • Can you do a tutorial on Grime music?

  • a month ago I had no idea what dubstep was. Turns out I've liked it for freaking ever! I always referred to it as just really heavy electronic, but I don't pay attention to the names of subgenres.

  • i hate dubstep

  • @djgaspray

but you love dick so go figure

  • @Gremmis shut up !! Everyone can have his own opinion

  • @djgaspray if you hate dubstep why are you watching dubstep videos? especially dubstep tutorials?

  • when he played the house track with the dubstep track it seems like the little denon is screaming for help with that bassline.

  • Dude there's tonnes of percussive dubstep lol. Check out Silkie etc just for starters. ;-)

  • j - aren't you counting at half speed in this vid? the snare falls on the third neat not the second, and the bpm is generally like 120-140ish I believe xx

  • @fluffjelly I actually count halfs when listening to dubstep too >.>

  • @AhTakkunBah I know I see why it's easier and more convenient, I was just wondering as a technicality, because when producing dubstep it's around 140bpm mark :) (I'm a producer and not a dj just so you know xD )

  • @fluffjelly I'm aware of that lol.

I'm a noob producer (didn't get enough courage to post some stuff yet) and also started messing around with mixing it.

  • @AhTakkunBah dont worry what people think, just make your shit and post it and learn from the critisism. you can't expect to just be loved by everyoen isntantly :)

  • Go and see Dr.Philth and Diesel my favorite right now..=]

  • most dubstep djing is dropping really

  • @SICKHEADCENTRAL thats what I thought. What fun is that though? I was hoping for more. I guess I will have to try mixing it some how!

  • @HDiGITTY you can mix dubstep, some people just do drops because they aren't actually that good. There are ton's of good dj's who mix dubstep and it sounds heavy together (and is actually not that hard to do) but yeah mixing is much more fun and entertaining than just dropping tracks

  • @ekoebeats09

    extremely true wikid comment

  • what is the very 1st song called ?

  • almost,

exept that dubstep is double tempo (140BPM that looks like 70) snare on the 3rd count

  • @BboxTangent ......rusko? Caspa?.....sorry man but the eargasm awards for 09 go to flux pavilion, funtcase, and cookie monsta

  • @jaymrock741 oh my god, don't you realize those are all the same kind of shit? Real dubstep is Mala, Digital Mystikz, Burial, Distance, Hatcha, Kode9, Ramadanman, Appleblim, Skream, Benga, Vex'd, Ital Tek, Reso, Pinch, and others. Fucking idiots like you without taste are whats ruining the genre.

  • Is there any website where I can download this cd?

  • that sounded great mixed :O

  • to be able to match the dubstep song with a house track does the house track need to have BPM proportionate to the BPM of the dubstep track?

  • i wanan start djing dubstep, is it any different that ther genders of music

  • WOW you know how to count.... *claps*

4/4 is boring..... listen to songs in 7/8 and then I'll be impressed

  • @KaslarProductions or just shut the fuck up and stop being a pretentious twat.

  • @KicksAndSnaresUK well you can stop being an annoying 20 year old burk.

  • @KaslarProductions yeah have fun mate.

  • @KicksAndSnaresUK rusko mr chips

  • there called chase and status

    not chase and standus

    haha

  • if you have a feeling for rithem you already found out of it :] btw some dubstep tracks are with 6 counts

  • that's awesome ha. If your intrested in dubstep I am just learning how to produce it. I just finished a song its the only vid on my page come check it out if you want!

  • Lol, i think 90% of dubstep listners are stoners ?

  • @WaaromIkWeer agreed

  • @WaaromIkWeer yes this is probs true .!

  • @WaaromIkWeer

yeah the other 10% are the kids planning on shooting up their highschool

  • @WaaromIkWeer well i like weed, and i do love dubstep so i guess so :D

  • @WaaromIkWeer touche

  • @WaaromIkWeer totally wrong... drum n bass are stoners... dubstep is for coke heads!!! so we can skank out and work of the coke...

  • @WaaromIkWeer

i think at least 99,5% of dubstep listeners arent stoners

  • @aseendkai everyone sees you stole that comment....

  • @superduperawesomeish lazy stoner

  • @aseendkai haha, you're really funny

  • @aseendkai you suck at percentage

  • @aseendkai

Hahaha what? i'm sure most Dubstep fans love the occasional spliff, not stoners but still.

  • @WaaromIkWeer im in the 10% lol

  • @yoshuaupunk mega stoners?

  • @WaaromIkWeer I was a candy kid before dubstep. Listened to dubstep, fell in love and then became more of a pothead. It's because the music is incredibly relaxing, and you relax with pot. So it goes hand in hand.

  • I LOVE RUSKO AND I KNOW MIKE LENNON :)

  • RESO GET RESO ELLA

  • Rusko is great. But alot has come along since him. Same with caspa. Dive into the depths of dubstep people. Great tutorial bro!

  • bboxtangent@csharp1990 uhm.... I do, theres loads of sik Djs out there eg Koan sounds Reso, Bar 9, funtcase and more! The only reason why I like Rusko so much is because he's the only DJ I know that ABSOLUTELY MERKS A SET!!! Dont hate just because he's the best in the business!!

  • JESUS YEAH... watch our upcomming sound we are three people running a dubstep sound called dubnight hifi... you can also book us.... one love bless

  • ellaskins is so dope

  • 3:50 i love how you didnt ruin the drop by saying one :D or the bass covered up your voice

  • as soon as he played the house music i was just like... -.-

  • Aren't most house tracks BPM supposed to be mid 120's and dubstep 70's? So even using the double time method won't it still be extremely hard to keep them beat matched with out jamming the pitch full speed indefinitely and fucking up the newly mixed in song? Still a great tutorial.. i'm just curious.

  • dubstep is 140, but same thing

  • good way of explaining the timing perceptions, I'd say from writing it and others I know who do, it is perceived as 140 bpm ish as a whole.

  • @thesoundtutor yep if its not 140 its prolly a remix or sumthin

  • funny mix, i never thought bout doubling the bars!

  • @corsasi you're an idiot

  • Not really a dubstep fan, but ellaskins is the man.

  • lol you took so long to emphesize half time and double time. but i guess its good for those dj's that havent taken music theory or play an actual instrument.

  • What is the name of the first song you played from RUSKO Mix..wanna look for it :) tnx

  • mr chips

  • its called Mr Chips!

  • i like your vids and the info is top notch but tbh i think its wrong to mix dubstep with house etc.....dubstep was made as an underground alternative to mainstream music and mix it with a cleshe' genre, kind of defeats the purpose, i wouldn't pay money to watch a DJ mix dubstep with other genres apart from glitch and 8-bit because those elements are used in dubstep....all in all good vid!

  • He isn't trying to mix it. He's using it as an example to show the similarities of the timing between the two genres, even though they sound completely different, So that DJ's who are used to mixing a popular genre like house, can see that it's actually pretty similar when you break it down into it's elements.

  • ok @5:24, the A-side turntable? digital pioneer,800? with an arm on it? wtf? i cant see it all that well, so if im wrong, someone please correct me

  • CDJ - 800. thats no bar; thats just the light's reflection on the CDJ's paintjob.
