  • What u have is a synthetic blend and not full synthetic. Blends tent to have more conventional oil in them than synthetic.

  • @swiss9495 - By law, "blend", oils can have as little as 1% synthetic oil in them and still be called a blend. Buyer beware.

  • umm thats a synthetic blend not synthetic. Its like 3/4 conventional oil

  • @wardubo ..Synthetic Blend exactly is 30% Full Synthetic - 70% Conventional. This one is middle range between Convention - Blend - and Full Synthetic.

    - If you are lazy and want to stay in a safe site then use Synthetic for less change time (x) per /Year.

  • Just got some Amsoil and became a PC from a dealer who covered the cost. Using my Pennzoil Platinum till it's gone with a Pure One Oil Filter. I'm using a 12,000 mile Royal Purple Oil Filter with the Amsoil XL oil.

  • @JayzBeerz Thanks for the loyalty.

  • I drive a Toyota 4Runner and I used 5W-30 TOYOTA OIL

Toyota they engineer for their engine and Why not Toyota oil so I am not worry about anything because I had my engineer work for me and anythings I want to know, they answer like a professional which is I had no complaint about their tecnical. Asian are different than American!

  • @CharlieDoan - Original equipment oils are usually relabeled name brand oils with a higher price. Toyota, GM or whom'ever, don't manufacture oil. You can use any name brand oil you wish without worry.

  • And..why did you use Blend?? in your hand NOT SYN????

  • -How many mile did u change your oil WITH SYNTHETIC?

-How many miles did u change your oil with conventional oil?

    - Any mix with Teflon? Slick 50???

We need more details if you like to show us!!

    Thanks

  • You did not have FULL SYNTHETIC OIL in your hand red gallon there..That is Blend oil which is 30% syn and 70% cheap conventional oil!!

  • I am now using Valvoline Synpower 5W-30 and so far it works great. May go back to Amsoil or Royal Purple soon.

  • @JayzBeerz ..for Top 10 of Synthetic, what you used there is number 6.

Mercedes is call Mobil 1 0W-40 is the must for their motor and, Mobil 1 Synthetic is number 1 of top 10 synthetic oil, spend money and good ideas to know why do you need to use the oil you choose for your cars. They are little different on Prices for different kind of Syn but be smart to learn : WHICH ONE IS THE BEST TO USE IN YOUR CARS. This is my opinions and I like to share to all of you. Thanks (Arigato)

  • @CharlieDoan I forgive you for your english. Mobil 1 is not #, where you get that info from? For 3K OCI any synthetic will work. Why pay $10.00 for a quart for Mobil 1 when a Quart of Napa SYN is $3.38 and will do the same job for 3K? Mobil 1 is Group III synthetic and Amsoil is Group IV + V. Amsoil is the #1 oil.

  • @thecartel360 Are you aware that, "study", was from 2002/2003, almost 10 years ago?! The Royal Purple web site doesn't tell you that though, does it? Google is a wonderful tool. In my opinion, that, "study", is too old to be valid anymore. Do you have permission from Royal Purple to use copyrighted material from their web site and endlessly spam YouTube channels with it? I'd bet not.

  • Release Amsoil to the public in stores so it is easier to get. Instead of playing ridiculous prices to get it from dealers.

  • @JayzBeerz - In stores, via a dealer, or online, the price is the same. But via a dealer, you get the big benefit of personalized customer service. Let's look at the cost, (not just price), and see how things stack up. At AdvanceAutoPartsdootCom, they have the Pennzoil Ultra you asked about at $7.78 per qt. X 5 qts. = $38.90 + about say $5 for a cheap oil filter = $43.90 per oil change + tax, say 6% = $2.63, for a total of $46.63 per oil change. U.S. average for annual total mileage traveled...

  • @JayzBeerz ....= 12,000 - 15,000 miles. Pennzoil recommends 4,000 mile oil change intervals with their product, so 12,000 divided by 4,000 = 3 oil changes at $46.63 each = $139.89 annual oil change costs, plus factor in the gas needed to drive back and forth to the auto parts store to buy the oil and filters and we're hovering around $150 for oil change costs using Pennzoil Ultra. Now with AMSOIL, the cost would be considerably less. The Preferred Customer pricing I can get....

  • @JayzBeerz ...you is less than Peznnoil Ultra per qt. The cost of an AMSOIL oil change, AMSOIL Ea oil filter, a Preferred Customer Membership and your order brought right to your door is only about $73, or about *half* what you would pay for Pennzoil Platinum. So as we can see, with AMSOIL you are saving over $70 via Pennzoil Platinum and getting a superior performing product to boot. That's a win-win situation for you. Then there's the fuel economy issue. In my own daily driver, using....

  • @HiTechOilCo I just REPLACED my oil after 3k miles of driving. I used pennzoil platnum with a K&N oil filter. (the standard was already black after 3k miles!!!) Only the best is allowed to be used for my car from now on and that will be fully synthetic!!

  • @EpiDemic117 - Have you ever heard of, "Group III", synthetic oils? When you get a chance, look into that. With my 25+ years of experience in the synthetic oil industry, I much prefer the performance, protection and money savings of true Group IV P.A.O. based synthetic oils that I feel far outperform mere Group III, "synthetic oils", that are actually refined from *petroleum crude oil*.

  • @EpiDemic117-By the way, if you'd like to use the best synthetic oils, the company that has the largest lead in research and development by pioneering the synthetic oil industry for cars and trucks way back in 1972 with the worlds first 100% synthetic API rated motor oil, is AMSOIL. Check out the opening video on my channel showing the internals of an engine after 409,000 miles with only one fill of AMSOIL synthetic motor oil. My website link at my channel has a lot of information for you. Enjoy

  • @HiTechOilCo

    What is AMSOIL?? new stuffs?

I Knew royal purple 5w-30...first I put in my engine, little scare because oil look like baby shit with purple color kkk and after start engine and stop check level the oil is very CLEAR color almost hard to see on my dipstick!

    - Now, can you tell me more about AMSOIL? same like Mobil 1 or what?? Thanks for INFOS.

  • @CharlieDoan go to Amsoil website and do research. Amsoil is better than Mobil 1.

  • @JayzBeerz ...AMSOIL saves me about $150 a year in fuel costs, so even if someone gave me another oil for *free*, it would cost me more to use than AMSOIL. :) As gas prices climb ever higher, the savings AMSOIL synthetics provide me become larger and larger. What year/make/model/engine vehicle do you have? I'll get you a price you will enjoy. :)

  • ...are formulated for drain intervals of up to 35,000 miles. I've been using AMSOIL products for over 20 years and they have saved me thousands and thousands of dollars in reduced maintenance and fuel economy costs.

  • @Echeque5, Hey man what do you think about the new Pennzoil Ultra Full Synthetic. I'm using pennzoil Platinum in my SUV right now and switching to Ultra on the next oil change. I run it for 6,000 miles every oil change.

  • @JayzBeerz - In my opinion, it's just a Group III, "synthetic oil", and the recommended change interval is only 4,000 miles or 4 months, whichever comes first. So if you go over that recommendation, there is no warranty coverage. AMSOIL synthetic motor oil has a written warranty for up to 35,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. So AMSOIL is not only a superior performing oil, but costs much less to use as well.

In this economy, I try to support American business and American jobs as...

  • @JayzBeerz ...much as possible. Pennzoil is owned for a foreign company, with your money going to line the coffers of mega-rich Middle East oil barons. AMSOIL products are all made in the U.S.A., supporting American jobs instead. Would you like a superior performing oil that will save you money?

  • @HiTechOilCo Save you money? Amsoil is a high priced oil and you have to pay even more to even get it from a distributor. To get it online you have to become a member which is $20.00 a year and with Amsoil you only have to change it once a year. So anyone who wants to use Amsoil just add $20.00 to your order which is a rip off.

  • @JayzBeerz - With all due respect, that's not so at all. Who told you that? The prices are the same via online or a dealer. You don't have to become a preferred customer if you don't want wholesale prices, but the preferred customer membership is only $10 and that pays for itself in one oil change with the wholesale price savings. AMSOIL saves consumers money, which is why it is in such high demand.

  • ...of extended drain service. Very few synthetic oils are so formulated and in fact 99% of the so-called synthetic oils available at discount auto parts stores are merely standard drain service oils, as per the very companies that manufacture them. Asking a standard drain interval oil perform the duties of an extended drain service oil can be playing Russian roulette with your vehicles expensive engine. The pioneering leader in extended drain service synthetic oils is AMSOIL, with oils that...

  • A blend oil is not a synthetic oil. Blend oils can have as little as 1% synthetic oil in them and still legally be called a blend. Buyer beware. Adding petroleum, dead dinosaur oil to a synthetic oil only serves to reduce the performance/protection abilities of the synthetic oil. Just because an oil has a synthetic base stock doesn't make it capable of safe extended drain intervals. For an oil to be capable of that, the oils additive package has to be specifically formulated for the rigors..

  • playing the fool here... how is it my parents 2000 astro has 320k on its original engine and has only had an oil change maybe every fifty thousand miles? and im talking the cheapest oil u can get?

  • @ajman21 Hmmm....broken odometer maybe? :)

  • Hey Richard, you have two bottles of regular. Yea, the "so called" jug of synthetic is actually "Blend" and may be 90% regular. Dont buy "blend" unless the bottle states a 50-50 mix. Good Luck on that.

  • I have a 2006 Ford Focus, and I've been using conventional Motorcraft 5w20 engine oil ever since I bought the car. I want to switch to synthetic oil but I'm afraid of having engine issues if I do so...is it okay to make the switch even though I've been using conventional oil since 2006?

  • @theemceemurdah YES ITS SAFE DO IT!!

  • @theemceemurdah that depends on how many miles are on the engine and the general shape of the car. If you have less than 50K miles and you have no leaks/burn-offs, I'd say it's a good idea. However, if you're burning/leaking oil, switching to synthetic will only make the problem worse (synthetic is thinner). Your best bet is to switch to a synthetic blend, IMO... durability of conventional + benefits of synthetic = good value in my book.

  • @zekrahminator - If I may; synthetic oil is no thinner or thicker than a petroleum oil. A 10W-30 is a 10W-30, be it a synthetic oil or a petroleum oil. Top performing synthetic oils like AMSOIL actually burn off/volatize at a much lower rate than petroleum oils. One of m customers had a car that was burning a quart of petroleum oil ever 169 miles and fouling out a set of spark plugs every week! They couldn't afford a new car or engine, so we tried some AMSOIL synthetic motor oil in it...

  • @zekrahminator ...to see if it would help. The oil consumption dropped to 1 qt. every 1,200 miles and the spark plug fouling stopped. My customer was ecstatically happy! :) AMSOIL synthetic motor oil literally saved their car for them. As for synthetic blend oils, the, "blend", of synthetic oil can be as little as 1% and still legally be called a blend. If the bottle doesn't tell you the percentage of the blend, buyer beware! Petroleum oil added to synthetic oil only serves to reduce the....

  • @zekrahminator ....performance and protection the synthetic oil offers anyway.

  • These expert village people know nothing do not listen to them.

  • I change my oil every 2,000 miles and i use royal purple. lol. I get the shit for free. why go 30,000 anyway. yea it will probably run for 100,000 miles but why try it? a fucking engine is thousands and oil is cheep insurance so why test a car and see haw long the oil will go? dumb.

  • How do i get royal purple for free that stuf is the best

  • It might get dirty & cruddy, but oil does not lose its' ability to lubricate

  • I have been using Amsoil since 1996 and only change every 25,000 miles. If you do the type of research that I have done you will soon discover there are no other oils out there that compare. Most comments on the subject of oil are way off base because nobody really does the actual research, they just feed off old wives tales and ridiculous theories that have been passed around the internet.

  • @SyntheticSpecialist I'm an Amsoil fan/PC/soon to be dealer.

There are other very good oils out there besides Amsoil. Redline, Royal Purple, Motul and SOME viscosities of Mobil 1 are quite good too. That said, very few companies are REALLY GREEN. Amsoil is all about the environment and I can see that in how they operate and deliver their products.

Also, Amsoil is VERY GOOD stuff and sells some of the best long interval oils out there, if not the best.

  • been using Amsoil since 1996 and I changed once-a-year or roughly every 20,000 miles. Between 4 different cars I own I have over 800.000 miles of trouble free driving, I don't why everyone doesn't use this stuff.

  • @SyntheticSpecialist ..continuing, in every situation where Pennzoil Platinum performed well, Amsoil ASL, AFL, SSO all outperformed the Pennzoil and enabled for a longer oil change interval.

Is Amsoil the ONLY oil to perform well? No, but it sure looks like it!

I absolutely love seeing my friends get excited at -30C and their car starts perfectly the first time!

  • the performance of the car warrantys the type of oil to be used > general comment

  • lucas oil is trash

  • this guy doesnt know what he is saying. See, this is why people have to buy new engines after 60-80k miles lol.

Regardless to what kinda oil u use, if u drive ur car every day, u should change it no later than 3000 miles. Yes synthetic oils are more resistant to breaking down, but even then, @ the most, u should go no longer than 3500-4000miles if you want to keep a healthy and well running engine for longer than a couple years.

  • Your thinking about cars 10 years ago. cars today are made better and the engines are finer. so a synthetic oil can go 10,000 to 15,000 miles. you living in the past bro....

  • no actually im not. Im a technician that has worked in GM and Toyota dealerships for the past 2 years and now work in a shop that works exclusively on BMW and Mercades. We just replaced the engine in a X5 last week b/c the owner was running synthetic and thought he could go 15,000 miles on it. He got to 9,200 miles and the motor locked up on him. Pulled the oil pan off and the oil was like water...no viscosity at all and jet black....

dont believe everything the factory says, take caution...

  • I have a GM engine and use a long life filter and a synthetic oil and change it every 6,000 miles. suv has 75,000 miles and never had an engine problem. i would go 10,000 or 15,000 miles either but that what the owners manual says.

  • U seriously dont wanna wait that long to change ur oil. I have a '06 impala SS and i change my oil when the oil life gets around 65-75% (3000 miles).....but it never gets below 60%. Ur oil is not something u wan to let go, it holds the life of ur engine in its hands. If u notice, most people who put well over 300,000 miles are in for oil changes every month at least, if not more. People who are always having engine problems after 80k-90k are the ones who put the oil changes off.

  • so why do all the new vehicles have an oil monitoring system and says 25,000 miles or 1 year oil change.

  • the funny thing is, we actually had this conversation in the shop a few weeks ago, and the only legitimate reason we could think of is to have the customer coming back to the dealership buy parts and spending more money. Oil basically keeps ur gaskets soft and plyable and keeps metal parts from touching, and when the oil get burnt and starts losing viscosity, the metal parts are starting to touch and cause heat and friction, burning the oil and not lubing as well as it should. so its best fresh.

  • no not really. Yes, engines are made with much tighter tolerances, but that's all the more reason why companies are changing to synthetics and synthetic blend oils like Mobil 1 that do not leave deposits at all to get between tight places. But even so, synthetic oils are still organic materials, meaning the will break down. And when that happens, they may not leave deposits, but they do lose viscosity and ability to lubricate. Trust that crap if u want, and get a new motor before 100k miles

  • I use synthetic oil and change it every 6,000 miles and my truck has 85,000 miles on it and runs like new.

  • 5-6k miles is fine, but 10-15k is just stupid. Most people dont drive like old ladies and drive more like idiots, running hard up to 80-100mph and stoping ang going, etc., puting more heat and stress on the engine and the oil, so going that far is rediculous. I drive my '06 SS impala pretty hard too, but even tho i use mobil 1, i still change it every 3000 miles or less sometimes. It has 105k on it and drives like new. Better safe than sorry and with engines over $3000, u get the picture.

  • Use the fully synthetic not the blend.Theres a difference.

  • It's a very simple concept... A vehicle's engine is susceptible to the most wear during start-up. This is because all the oil is sitting in the pan at the bottom of the engine. It takes a few seconds for the oil pump to send the oil from the pan up through the moving parts at the top of the engine. Full synthetic oil is 100% man-made, so all the molecules are the same size and shape. This makes it bond to engine parts better, which reduces wear on start-up.

  • Alright, here's the complete list of offensive things the gentleman said:

1.One can look inside the oil.

    2.Oil damages engine.

3.He said that my car isn't high performance.

  • I use Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30 and it works beautiful for 6,000 miles and cleans the engine very well. One of the cleanest oils I have ever used.

  • My recommendation is every 3000 to 4000 miles using conventional oil, every 4000 to 5000 miles using synthetic blend, and 5000 to 6000 miles using full synthetic. The 10,000 mile oil changes are a good recipe for an early grave of your engine.

  • If you change your oil between 3,000 to 4,000 miles it doesn't matter what oil you use

  • actually, it does. Regardless of how often u change ur oil, u will never get all of the old oil out of ur engine. That being said, conventional oils are organic. When they break down, they leave deposits and debris called sludge. Eventually, that will cause problems.

Synthetics on the other hand, do not leave deposits and actually have detergents to keep ur motor clean.

But if ur motor is past 40k miles on conventional, u never change to a synthetic. It will clean the sludge from the ...

  • nukes and cranies (piston ring seats, valve seats, lifter guides and seats, etc.) and cause piston knock in extreme applications and ticking and increased egine wear in normal conditions.

Although they are more expensive, sythetics are definitely the best way to go, regardless of whether its in ur daily driver or ur weekend toy.

  • What? Will sythetic oil clean the sludge out of an enjine? Why is that bad for an enjine with over 40,000 miles on it? Just wondering. I know how important it is to take good care of the enjine.

  • b/c conventional oils are organic based, meaning the oil itself breaks down sooner (3000k) and when it does break down, it leaves behind burnt deposits and residue called sludge. That sludge is pushed into openings insid the motor and up agains the cylinder walls and harden between the piston rings and the cylinder walls as well as between the lifters and cam lobes. Synthetic cleans all that sludge out and does not leave residue, causing excessive space and tapping and knocking occurs.

  • I have a 1995 Toyota Tacoma with 60,500 miles on it. It does not use a drop of oil in over 2,000 miles. I usually change the oil about then. I am the 2nd owner and have taken real good care of the car and enjine. I was thinking about switching to a synthetic but not if it will hurt my enjine. I think the truck will go over 200,000 more miles and would hate to hurt it. Maybe I should use a snythetic blend. What do you think? Thanks.

  • if u have been using convetional, best bet is to stick with it at 60k. You could switch to synthetic blend and that would be fine, jus keep ur intervals the same, every 3000k miles. People think synthetic oil means they can go 10k miles without changing it and that's rediculous. GM uses Mobil 1 full synthetic in all its performance oriented LS series V8's but still recommend oil changes every 3000k miles. The difference between oils is the cleanliness of em, not the durability of it.

  • Theres a lot more to in then that, all synthetics contain detergents. An oils TBN and many other things factor into its high temperature high shear vicosity.

Usually, an oil thats low shear with a high hths rating, will sacrifice mpg while providing a better protection. The idea is to find the median and in some cases, the best of both worlds.

  • @mtooshort20 wrong. GM goes by the OLM and using conventional oil that tends to be 6-8,000miles.

You are also wrong about "durability". If the durability of oils didn't matter VW, Audio, porsche and BMW wouldn't use ONLY synthetic because of its ability to resist shear in their cars and maintain viscosity. You sir, have a lot to learn.

  • fat fuckhead no idea

  • Even the "normal" oil that he had there was multigrade oil, so it will resist thickening while cold, and thinning while hot. (stays within a specific viscosity) Most of the negative things he described only applied to non-multigrade oils.

  • Uh dude that is SYNTHETIC BLEND not SYNTHETIC.

    Can you read buddy?

  • LOL true!!

  • synthetic blend is garbage. Go full synthetic or don't do it at all.

Royal Purple or Mobil 1 is all that has touched my mustang. 100,600 miles with zero problems.

  • Hey man, I used RP and used to love it but it's nothing like schaeffers 7000, This is hands down the best. Try it.

  • borrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
