the best show i've ever seen, anime or otherwise. only shakespeare compares. it kept me afloat during a difficult time. i wish i could personally thank the creators/writers.
Hey everybody! I just released my solo album "Mirror Image" that contains dark electronic upbeat and ambient songs heavily inspired by the anime Texhnolyze. If you're interested you can check out the songs on my youtube page, and links to my myspace page and places to download the full album are on my youtube channel as well :) .
In conclusion, I thank you very much again for having made this video! It really gives more interest and also more honour to this adorable anime, at least in my opinion!^^ Durandal87
P.S: does anyone know where one can see all its episodes either in English or in German?^^ many thanks in advance for the whole aid and all the responses I will have for this! ^^
Thank you for having chosen '' Imagine '' as the song accompaning the images of your AMV! This choose was just perfect, since this song is as sombre as the anime and for that matter, it enabled you to play with flashes, which is enchanting, really !^^
I thank you very much indeed for having prepared this AMV about Texhnolyze! This japanese cartoon is sombre but yet eminently interesting since its very beginning to the end of its episodes! I really am too happy to see this video, because you really made such a good work ! This is splendidly done, really !;)
Nice AMV, good job! I´m glad more people try to make some tribute to Texhnolyze, which is superb anime. I guess it has really depressing atmosphere and thats why many people can´t stand it. For me it´s superior to Ergo Proxy, Serial Experiments Lain or even NGE. I hope for more art works of Yoshitoshi Abe ...
I've just started watching this anime, and I must say I was confused by the beginning few episodes. But I was so entranced by the characters and the questions left unanswered, I just HAD to find out what happened next!
Watching masterpieces like this just help to prove my point: "Anime is an art, NOT a cartoon."
Ok, you've perked my interest with this AMV. I've never even heard of this anime until I saw this AMV. You did a really good job getting the feel of the song.
This anime is seriously profound. It was hard to watch, but in a good way...it was harder not to finish it. The AMV tones it just right. You want him to live both in body and in mind and the anxiety of him failing to do so gives off an ambience far lacking in exultation. Just good stuff!
I've placed the entire series on a playlist in my channel for those wanting to see it without having to search through the universe for the eps. You have got to watch this!
true piece of anime, the end is quite confusing, though i liked it. btw i think the shapes were actually in a progress of a new evolution and the roots meant that people were merging with the city, continuing to only exist with their minds, i think the whole ending was figurative. im glad i watched this anime.
Very nicely done. I like how they took Imagine and it made it almost dark, and minor, as opposed to the happy major song The Beatles did. Good cover by Perfect Circle.
Can someone please tell me why the Shapes shut down towards the end? What happened? Did they run out of batteries? By the time Ichise returns underground, they are all useless.
As far as I remember, the Shapes were using (or rather "made of") Texhnolyze technology, or at least some sort of it. When the obelisk in the middle of Lukuss stopped working, all the texhnolyze units (e.g. Onishi's leg, Ichise's arm and leg) were cut off their power supply - including the Shapes. At least that's what I remember, I might be mistaken. I don't exactly know why some kind of roots were growing out of their legs and tieing them to the ground, though.
Kano had promised them eternal life but in doing so they had to become part of the city. The legs represent roots tapping into the power of the Obelisk, the heart of the city.
The writer is the same as in Hellsing, and the producer directed Hellsing. And this anime is a masterpiece. If you don't like it, why do you keep posting it in it's AMVs? And I doupt, you ever even watched it.
Awesome video. It's kind of sad that most fans ignore Texhnolyze because its too "confusing" or "perplexing" but worship the equally dense Evangelion (which is inferior IMO) because it happens to have comedy/romance elements, genre cliches and generally a lack of subtlety. And while I like that show its just a shame that something as uncompromising as Tex hasn't won the same kind of popularity.
Well, the purpose there is cliches and comedy/romance in anime isn't to ruin it, it's to increse it's popularity. That's why all the best ones arent as popular.
I find it hilarious that you even compare the two. But I believe you're right, nonetheless. It's hard to find fans of Texhnolyze, but when you do, they always have exceptional understanding of the plot and symbolism portrayed.
I disagree. It's only logical that series like Texhnolyze, Serial Experiments Lain etc attracts a smaller group of people, since it's not as easy to digest series like that. People who want's to get stimulated in the way series like this stimulates, are a significantly smaller group. It's kind of like music; Underground music is often regarded as "harder to digest" than mainstream music, that's why it attracts fewer. I find it compelling, knowing that my way of thinking diverses.
@Kagemusha08 Yeah, generally the more popular something is the worse it will be to the true fans. Look at music or hell even video games that are the most popular, yet they are FAR from the best.
John Lennon hates this.
Just by changing the tone and adding a video, his ideal future is refuted.

texhnolyze is fucking amazing, it replaced cowboy bebop as my fav anime series to date
i actually disagree with most people, i really enjoy every single episode not just the later episodes
i don't think it starts off too slow, i think it is perfection
watching this significantly affects me emotionally and mentally
texhnolyze gets a 99/100 score from me

its like watching the people diying 24 episodes long

Texhnolyze has a great beginning but it is the middle and ultimately the ending that makes it a classic.
