The laser gun NEVER misses. Laser gun > laconian axe until the end of the game even.
Phantasy Star is def my favorite rpg of all time.

You don't HAVE to have a Mirror Shield equipped. Just saying. I've killed her several times, without. Granted - It's a bit more of a pain, but I have been an avid P.S. fan since my early years and I like to make things a bit more challenging.

@CoreyisGoD every hit she does it's a kill, meaning you have to kill her in 4 rounds, i did it too :D i felt badass :D

I really loved how Phantasy Star had specific background graphics for every area during fights. That was a glaring omission in PS2.

Yea, I agree. I hated that, and always felt it was rushed because of that. Was happy to see the backgrounds return in PS IV.
Damn, does Phantasy Star I still look good or what? And its a 20 year old game!

Well the lack of real backgrounds in the battles in two were a desgin choice nothing more.
As for Phantasy star 1 still looking good I have to agree with that it's a true testimate to how powerful the SMS/Mark 3 really was. Granted I think all the Phantasy Stars still look and play good. Just the sound effects in one can get irratating unless your playing the Japanese version which had FM sound.

yeah, although it was a design choice it looked pretty out of date already, and it wasn't even animated. I also think the cutscenes and palette choices were way better in this one, looks more vivid.
