Your comment made me investigate who flew "IF" Std-2 in that competition, what is the name of the pilot. I just started asking guys aroun who may know who the pilot is. This is fun ! I fly from Burn, I have flown in thermals with birds of prey, not sure what kind though.

First you learn to fly like birds of pray, than you play with them games of air combat under clouds.

Hawks, falcons and storks are fun to fly with. In some countries you can fly with eagles and condors.

Everyone should experiance this form of flight. It is the most relaxing way to go. I have taken my friends and family up, even my mum. I started when i was 14 and have been flying many hours. It is not a hard way to get into solo flying but can be costly.

Being flown in a glider in the middle of summer 3000ft in the sky and no engine is one of the best experiences ull eva have as a human being in my own personal opinion!

Hi Daredum, you should go to an airport where they will take you up for the first flying lesson so you can start flying and stop just dreaming about it. I can recommend where to go, depends where you live, I know many places where instructor pilots will be happy to start you flying. The first flight should be 5-10 minutes to get used to motion in the air. You can fall in love with flying very fast, it takes some time and money. You can do it !!! No problem.

Hi TomcatE303, you are right, what you see is SZD-41A, I filmed from SZD-48-3 which has single conopy, nicer panoramic view. I think that performance is the same.

Its a SZD-48-1 Jantar Standard 2 not SZD-41A...

Shoulder wing, bigger wing fillet, shorter fuselage of different shape. But also has similar two piece canopy as the SZD-41A. Cheers!

daredum, thank you for your valuable comment. I just started to post some things on the YouTube. This is just a tip of an iceberg what I can upload, just one procent of material I have. This video should show you what you see and hear in flight, what pilot sees from cockpit when flying glider in the thermal. Like a front row seat.
